I like Dante, but Kratos wins this match. Why everyone keep saying Dante cant die? He has supernatural powers just like Vampires, Demons, Angels, Gods, so bullets, swords or any ordinary weapon wouldn't do anything to him. But a powerful weapon like the blade of Olympus, he will die easily. Gods are more powerful than Demons.
dante can freakin teleport! block attacks and reflect the damage on u, has a weapon with 666 forms, unlimited diablos swords which he can mentally direct, a bazooka, ice nunchaku, can fly in devil trigger which can also b unlimited, super acrobatic, extreme swordsmen skills and shooting skills, and hisbullets are charged with his own energy which apparently can kill demons and such, kratos is no match, the only ppl can really touch dante r ppl like virgil kratos wud get owned to no end
@super17sd Kratos has many weapons and abilities, but the one weapon that would put Dante in his place is the Blade of Olympus. Simply put, the Blade of Olympus contains his immortal power as the God of War, which i turn leads to it being able to completely destroy an entire city with one slash. Combine this with him being already a Demi-God (his physical strength is FAR greater than Hercules), and Dante would be dead before he goes into devil trigger
Kratos himself was never seen destroying a city with that sword, Zeus did...a mere human (The SPartan General) Survived that attack while being in the immediate vincinity. Even if all that was true, it would be useless since Dante is much faster than Kratos
@pkraccoon13 The blade of olympus didn't use Zues' power, it used to God of War's power. Kratos is/was the God of War, meaning that power used to destroy the city is his. The Spartan captain was behind or at least outside the slash radius of the blade You wouldn't be able to use the ability in God of War 3 because it would make it too easy
Kratos killed sisters that could effectively stop time itself, which in IS faster than teleporting, making that ability almost useless.
You misunderstood me. I stated that Kratos himself was never able to destroy an entire city with that Blade. Only Zeus was seen using that power, so we can't assume withouth proof. For him it only kills titans one at a time if he charges it and strikes them in a vital place. The Sisters could not stop time, all they did was slow it down. And that battle was mostly PIS since if they could control fate, why didnt they just cut his thread long before arriving?

Kratos still slaughtered the sisters with far superior speed than him, making Dante's teleport almost useless. Not to mention the Golden Fleece, deflecting all magical and most physical attacks devil Trigger would be useless....
No it's not proof enough because that move was used by Zeus not Kratos himself. The sisters are not fast, they just have the ability to slow down time, and that's only one of them, and because Kratos had the amulet of the fates as well which can only be used with the fates or the statue of the fates.
How would it be useless when Dante rains hundreds of bullets on him? He may block some but not all.

@mrzaman101 Majin is comparable or superior to Rage of the Titans for the record, but when he fought Argosax he was still pretty confident in his abilities and didn't seem to try overly hard compared to Kratos who died like 3 times to get at Zeus. Also, Dante still defeated Abigal in like 10 seconds after he busted out of that little sealed off area

This guy is so ignorant of both characters. Dante has DDT from DMC2, quicksilver and Pandora's Box. He's invincible during DDT AND he sealed his powers at that point because he was too powerful. I say stalemate.
@mrzaman101 But Kratos hardly wears that armor...He gets rid of it in GoW2 mostly and in GoW3 it only covers a bit and so God Armor isn't much of a factor IMO. Also health bars =/= their actual health...Besides Kratos used Pandora's Box to unleash more powers TO make him a fully god so he took on a Full God as a Full God while Dante took on Legendary Demons as a Half-Legendary Demon...This fight would STILL be a tie
@mrzaman101 Okay Kratos killed a few gods, I'll give that to him. However those gods were not that impressive by the time Kratos arrived. I mean Poseidon was already exhausted when he tried to fight, Helios already broke his spine, Hephastus was a bit trapped in that cave, Hera pretty much lost all her power, Hermes was also pretty exhausted (and just a dick IMO), Hades didn't even use his supposed doom powers from his helmet, and only Zeus actually put up a fight and Mundus seemed stronger
@mrzaman101 Nope, in-game its temporary but I have seen him go DT for at least 5 minutes to take down Abigal and heal most of his injuries and saw him flash between DT and human mode for some reason. Besides, Blade of Olympus still wouldn't take down Dante. If Athena survived for like 5 minutes after being stabbed, Dante would just shrug it off. Besides, he wouldn't even let himself be stabbed because all the weapons he pulls out of thin air will stand up to the Blade of Olympus
I agree with the poster. Kratos would massacre him, no doubt. I may think Kratos is on PMS 90% of the time, but, really, I can't come up with any other game character that could feasibly beat him in a realistic 1vs1.

Also, Hulk and superman would stalemate, given that hulk can lift a mass greater than the earth and bust through a meteor twice its size. Plus power potential is unlimited (literally infinite) and his healing factor makes him nigh invincible. He also broke through Apocalypse's armor and "unbreakable" chains. He literally can't be beat by anything less than a cosmic being at his full potential. Superman is superman.

He can't use the power of Sparda and he doesn't have that connection with Eva so he wouldn't be able to seal Mundus, he'd just come back to keep fighting until Kratos finally gets exhausted and dies. Meanwhile Dante in GoW1, well, he'd for one never even lose to the Barbarian King but if he wanted to, he could open Pandoras Box or not and still take Ares

Kratos is no retard either he basically had to deal with any loss he had, Spartans originally worshipped the God of War in ancient Greece when he hashed out a deal with Ares. Firearms weren't invented yet at the time and when Ares took away his family he had an epiphany and dedicated his life to killing Ares and later the gods that betrayed him. Basically it's a vendetta.

I think that it would be a good fight,.. it all really depends on where the battle takes place,... they both have incredible strengths and feats. And they both are what each other kill and hunt,.. they both are awesome in their own right,.. hmm Dante is very fast and crafty, but Kratos is very powerful and agile. The fight would actually never end due to the fact that in a way they both are kinda like immortal. so actually watching them fight would be a win win for us,.. it would be cool!!

kratos killed zues or aries whatever but Vs Dante he would be dead since dante has more modern type fighting skills with swords while kratos just swings them like a 3 year old wanna-be ninja on a tantrum. also kratos cant fight from a distance like Dante can, Dante can cause immense damage with bullets since they are a channel for his demonic powers, if he focuses more on the bullets he can kill kratos in 1 hit.
I wouldn't call killing kings of hell and fallen angels that big of an achievement with fictional characters. Neither is killing god-like beings on Kratos' end.
Looking at their actual feats, the fastest being in God of War, Hermes... don't even approach the combat speed of what Dante already shows in the DMC3 opening cutscene.
And Kratos sure ain't dodging bullets from a sniper rifle/laser cannon/gatling gun/missile launcher/etc. from Dante.
Dante is the BEST style over brutallity. Guns over magic. White sexy hair over baldness. and Dantes Sword so that all of you know is much bigger then Kratos's little blades of Chaos. I like both Dante and kratos and i played both games... As long as Kratos possesses the powers of the gods, Aint no way Dante will beat him. Bullets wouldn't do anything to kratos. Dante is faster, Kratos is stronger. Dante MIGHT stand a chance in Devil Trigger mode but i dont think it will be enough to defeat the god of war.

Dante's a nigh invulnerable weapons master who has sorrow issues and practically is self-employed. Kratos is a brtual killer, only brought back to life to become a pawn to some other plan then kills his employers.
Kratos will not win. Dante can get stabbed and wouldn't care. Kratos on the other hand gets stabbed and dies. Dante doesn't need anyone. Kratos needs either the gods or the titans. Rage and Strength has to go to Kratos while speed, skill, and durability has to go to Dante. A fair fight would be Kratos vs Nero....at least Kratos might win.

dante. there are only a few heroes and villains i know that can kill dante, one being Spawn (in his current state) and the other Alucard (from Hellsing) who are practically omnipotent beings, more so than most gods. sorry for the long text, i just h8 it when people do these comparisons and dont know anything about one of the characters.
has no chance. he was pierced through the stomach on the first game and died (and later came back). dante has been shot in the head, pierced around a million times by his own sword and scythes amoung other blades (intro in DMC 3) and still stood up smilling. he dodges bullets and has taken down several lords of hell (in DMC 1, 2 and the anime) without any aid. kratos killed zeus, but needed a shit tons of help to do it. im sorry, but only with ares' powers would kratos come close to killing...

@PCDTSME First of all kratos has super speed, when he killed Hermess he gained lightning speed from Hermess boots, Kratos could lift hand of Chronus (Chronus is like as big as mount everest lol) when chronus tried to squash him and Kratos is pritty much immortal when he has blade of Olympus. I like both games too but common Kratos seems much stronger if you count who he fights with.
@hyperbros96 chronus is hardly as big as everest, he is about the same size as the savior in dmc 4, and dante gets stomped by the saviors foot and just lifts him up like its nothing. Hermes hardly has the same speed as dante, and anyone who has played dmc 1,3 and 4 will know this. dante has hypersonic reflexes (displayed by his ability with keeping up with vergil ). the fact the boots make kratos run faster does not influence the quickness of his blades. seriously im tired of arguing about it.
@PCDTSME Ok first Savoir is barely as big as Chronus because when Savior hits you with a fist it is like 3 times bigger than you while Chronuses fingers are about 3 Kratoses each, and well if you are talking about blade speed Kratoses attacks are much faster than Dantes. Both characters are really cool, but how can we know who is stronger unless they fight in some game.

He has supernatural powers just like Vampires, Demons, Angels, Gods, so bullets, swords or any ordinary weapon wouldn't do anything to him. @super17sd Kratos has many weapons and abilities, but the one weapon that would put Dante in his place is the Blade of Olympus. Simply put, the Blade of Olympus contains his immortal power as the God of War, which i turn leads to it being able to completely destroy an entire city with one slash. Combine this with him being already a Demi-God (his physical strength is FAR greater than Hercules), and Dante would be dead before he goes into devil trigger

@pkraccoon13 The blade of olympus didn't use Zues' power, it used to God of War's power. Kratos is/was the God of War, meaning that power used to destroy the city is his. The Spartan captain was behind or at least outside the slash radius of the blade You wouldn't be able to use the ability in God of War 3 because it would make it too easy
Kratos killed sisters that could effectively stop time itself, which in IS faster than teleporting, making that ability almost useless.

You misunderstood me. I stated that Kratos himself was never able to destroy an entire city with that Blade. Only Zeus was seen using that power, so we can't assume withouth proof. For him it only kills titans one at a time if he charges it and strikes them in a vital place. The Sisters could not stop time, all they did was slow it down. And that battle was mostly PIS since if they could control fate, why didnt they just cut his thread long before arriving?

Kratos still slaughtered the sisters with far superior speed than him, making Dante's teleport almost useless. Not to mention the Golden Fleece, deflecting all magical and most physical attacks devil Trigger would be useless....

No it's not proof enough because that move was used by Zeus not Kratos himself. The sisters are not fast, they just have the ability to slow down time, and that's only one of them, and because Kratos had the amulet of the fates as well which can only be used with the fates or the statue of the fates.
How would it be useless when Dante rains hundreds of bullets on him? He may block some but not all.

@mrzaman101 Majin is comparable or superior to Rage of the Titans for the record, but when he fought Argosax he was still pretty confident in his abilities and didn't seem to try overly hard compared to Kratos who died like 3 times to get at Zeus. Also, Dante still defeated Abigal in like 10 seconds after he busted out of that little sealed off area

They only give Kratos speed, Dante's got agility and Majin Form seems superior to Kratos' rage

This guy is so ignorant of both characters. Dante has DDT from DMC2, quicksilver and Pandora's Box. He's invincible during DDT AND he sealed his powers at that point because he was too powerful. I say stalemate.

@mrzaman101 But Kratos hardly wears that armor...He gets rid of it in GoW2 mostly and in GoW3 it only covers a bit and so God Armor isn't much of a factor IMO. Also health bars =/= their actual health...Besides Kratos used Pandora's Box to unleash more powers TO make him a fully god so he took on a Full God as a Full God while Dante took on Legendary Demons as a Half-Legendary Demon...This fight would STILL be a tie

@mrzaman101 Okay Kratos killed a few gods, I'll give that to him. However those gods were not that impressive by the time Kratos arrived. I mean Poseidon was already exhausted when he tried to fight, Helios already broke his spine, Hephastus was a bit trapped in that cave, Hera pretty much lost all her power, Hermes was also pretty exhausted (and just a dick IMO), Hades didn't even use his supposed doom powers from his helmet, and only Zeus actually put up a fight and Mundus seemed stronger

@mrzaman101 Nope, in-game its temporary but I have seen him go DT for at least 5 minutes to take down Abigal and heal most of his injuries and saw him flash between DT and human mode for some reason. Besides, Blade of Olympus still wouldn't take down Dante. If Athena survived for like 5 minutes after being stabbed, Dante would just shrug it off. Besides, he wouldn't even let himself be stabbed because all the weapons he pulls out of thin air will stand up to the Blade of Olympus

He can't use the power of Sparda and he doesn't have that connection with Eva so he wouldn't be able to seal Mundus, he'd just come back to keep fighting until Kratos finally gets exhausted and dies. Meanwhile Dante in GoW1, well, he'd for one never even lose to the Barbarian King but if he wanted to, he could open Pandoras Box or not and still take Ares

Kratos is no retard either he basically had to deal with any loss he had, Spartans originally worshipped the God of War in ancient Greece when he hashed out a deal with Ares. Firearms weren't invented yet at the time and when Ares took away his family he had an epiphany and dedicated his life to killing Ares and later the gods that betrayed him. Basically it's a vendetta.

I think that it would be a good fight,.. it all really depends on where the battle takes place,... they both have incredible strengths and feats. And they both are what each other kill and hunt,.. they both are awesome in their own right,.. hmm Dante is very fast and crafty, but Kratos is very powerful and agile. The fight would actually never end due to the fact that in a way they both are kinda like immortal. so actually watching them fight would be a win win for us,.. it would be cool!!

I wouldn't call killing kings of hell and fallen angels that big of an achievement with fictional characters. Neither is killing god-like beings on Kratos' end.
Looking at their actual feats, the fastest being in God of War, Hermes... don't even approach the combat speed of what Dante already shows in the DMC3 opening cutscene.
And Kratos sure ain't dodging bullets from a sniper rifle/laser cannon/gatling gun/missile launcher/etc. from Dante.

I like both Dante and kratos and i played both games... As long as Kratos possesses the powers of the gods, Aint no way Dante will beat him. Bullets wouldn't do anything to kratos. Dante is faster, Kratos is stronger. Dante MIGHT stand a chance in Devil Trigger mode but i dont think it will be enough to defeat the god of war.

Kratos will not win. Dante can get stabbed and wouldn't care. Kratos on the other hand gets stabbed and dies. Dante doesn't need anyone. Kratos needs either the gods or the titans. Rage and Strength has to go to Kratos while speed, skill, and durability has to go to Dante. A fair fight would be Kratos vs Nero....at least Kratos might win.

has no chance. he was pierced through the stomach on the first game and died (and later came back). dante has been shot in the head, pierced around a million times by his own sword and scythes amoung other blades (intro in DMC 3) and still stood up smilling. he dodges bullets and has taken down several lords of hell (in DMC 1, 2 and the anime) without any aid. kratos killed zeus, but needed a shit tons of help to do it. im sorry, but only with ares' powers would kratos come close to killing...

@PCDTSME First of all kratos has super speed, when he killed Hermess he gained lightning speed from Hermess boots, Kratos could lift hand of Chronus (Chronus is like as big as mount everest lol) when chronus tried to squash him and Kratos is pritty much immortal when he has blade of Olympus. I like both games too but common Kratos seems much stronger if you count who he fights with.

Hermes hardly has the same speed as dante, and anyone who has played dmc 1,3 and 4 will know this. dante has hypersonic reflexes (displayed by his ability with keeping up with vergil ). the fact the boots make kratos run faster does not influence the quickness of his blades. seriously im tired of arguing about it.

@hyperbros96 seriously? what games have you been playing? kratos attacks are not as fast as dante's. only a funking fan girl would say that. grab dmc1,2,3 or even 4 and you will see for yourself. dante can do hundreds of slashes in a second, million stab, and so on. and when we discuss powers and attacks usually we go with cutscenes cuz in gameplay powers are always bummed down so the game doesnt become boring. watch the fight between vergil&dante, you cant even see their swords cuz their speed.

ok so... since you dont know much about Devil May Cry Dante can shift from a Swordmaster to a guns Master to a Trickster to a Hand to hand combat master
You'r talking about the guy who killed the king of Hell and the guy who Destroyed a giant statue full of his father's power so ... yeah i think Dante can handle him self expecialy if Yamato was in play then Dante would be a Darkslayer so Kratos can run of and be afraid

it dosent matter if it was gameplay he can still do that with Golden Fleece u just not big enough to accepte that he can block projectionl attacks with shield .. so yamato is already uselesss .
