Wilmington Montessori Steel Drum Band

I am a teacher at a Montesori school and i am interested in starting a steel pan group. These instruments are quite expensive, so how were you able to come up with the funds to purchase these. thanks  michaeldrums@bresnan.net

I absolutely HATE when people call this instrument a "drum", if may be fashioned from used oil drums but it is not a drum. Not every percussion instrument is a drum, and you don't simply 'beat' it. A drum also doesn't contain musical notes, certainly not every note in the musical scale. The instrument is properly called a steel "pan", and when referring to the band, simply a "steel band."
