  • there amazing and anything but ugly

  • retail for 45 dollars? just paid 97 dollars tax included for kso's here in canada wtf!

  • I'm thinking about getting one for myself.. jw How do you like them now? Any more updates on the shoes that you can give us? Thanks!:)

  • are the vibram 5 fingers good for parkour?

  • 0:56 lol omg look at those feet

  • Looks like an expensive habit.

  • I have run in Vibram KSOs for a year and half now. I have gone as far as 10 miles on asphalt and concrete. They are fantastic shoes! I started wearing VFF because I had plantar fasciites. Two weeks in these shoes and it was gone. My feet are strong and flexible now. I used to be plagued by knee soreness, ankle soreness, etc., but that is all gone with these shoes. Even if you don't run in them, you will enjoy them. I use Injinji socks with mine and have not had any problem with smell.

  • what is your normal shoes size and your foot length?

  • I own two pair of Vibrams. Would not be without them. They are amazing. :-)

  • I Have VFs'F I've been enjoying Great Leg Health as a Result as well Calves, are Getting Stronger for Sure! If your in to Running or Fitness, it's Great to your inner Primate.

  • Hmmnn...I can see how these could be a good thing. But honestly, how much better can they possibly be, if any better, than my 2011 Airmax's??? People that know shoes please reply, I'm debating on buying some of thse.

  • I have a pair. And yep it cost too much. Good but too much. I hope some company will make something like this and much cheaper. Before i run with chuck taylor shoes and when i wore this its not that hard for me cause chucks prepared me for it.

  • Am I the only one tht thinks it doesn't look tht bad? Looks like some futuristic shit man :) Plus I LOOOVE running barefoot.

  • They are too expensive for a pair of foot gloves Made In China !

  • Has anyone used this for hiking trails in wet or muddy condition? debating whether to get some treksports for hiking but...these shoes arent cheap and if the KSOs are good enough , il settle with them

  • I want those

  • they sure look funny...but i would try them.

  • @quetzalamaru they look awesome ;)

  • I have a pair of these shoes and use them for rock climbing. They are the boss. Call them ugly, call them what you want but hey are great.

I think scars from total knee replacements might be uglier, more permanent, or painful.... but whatever. People calling the shoe ugly like that's some reason not to buy them are retarded, fat, shallow, shut-ins.

    Get off your asses!

I don't bother w/ looks, only performance. Exercise isn't just for looking good, but more importantly: feeling good.

  • @ModestTruth yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ugly ass shoes lol

  • How tick is the buttom ?

  • i got my new bikilas a week or so ago, love them. they are so comfortable, i put them on when i get up and take them off when i go to bed. i never thought i would love a pair of freakin shoes so much

  • @Popsurf1011 my toes touch the front of my KSOs. As long as your toes don't curl up when they're on, you should be fine.

  • When you walk or run in them do your toes touch the front at all? I just bought a pair and I'm worried they're too tight.

  • does it have any special socks?

  • @ronaldoftikerxxx Yes, they're called Injinji toe socks. Though not many people choose to wear them when wearing their VFFs, they are quite comfortable and help keep your feet warm in colder/wetter weather conditions.

  • so ugly............... not more to say..........

  • @Canasonico Yeah, that shoes are ugly, but UNBELIEVABLE comfortable. By the way: the blue coloured version looks, a little bit, better ;-)

  • Would you recommend the classic Vibram to run in or just the KSO?

  • This also means you can't wear socks, cool.

  • @xme71 yeah i had to order toe socks with my KSO's

  • @xme71

Yeah, no. You can wear socks w/ this shoe. A lot of yoga fanatics already wear toe-less socks. Same w/ rock climbers. Runners are going that route soon too. We were made to run barefoot. All that thick padding under your tennis shoes (below the heel) is killing your cartilage. Get w/ it.

  • Hahaha, theyr so good you didnt take em off:D

  • I have KSO 's myself. They are great except for walking on hot side walks for a while. I got blisters.

  • @jeremebonesaw you can get toe socks for them to stop any slight rubbing or friction inside the shoes, they are pretty cheap too :)

  • Fred Flinstone would have loved these

  • @tswagg504 Hahahaaha LOL!!!!!!!!

  • im sure they are comfortable, but they look really stupid.

  • @xWxHxIxTxExYx I hope you dont buy shit based off their looks, if so you're "really stupid"

  • @FirstEmotions ok, so if there is a really comfortable hat. that keeps your head cool and some other quality of a good hat, but it has the shape of the head of a penis. would you still buy it? or would the look of it turn you away? These shoes are ugly, that is all

  • That was the worst review I've ever seen. Basically you showed us some video of you wearing them and you told us you bought them.

  • i have really short toes. should i be concerned that they won't fit?

  • apple product placement

  • Got a pair of KSO's yesterday pretty sweet

  • Reviews says that it's like your barefoot. Doesn't it hurt like when you're walking on pebbles or rock? : )

  • how about if you accidentally step on a sharp object?will it puncture the shoe?

  • You said you tend to land with the ball of your feet thats is bad.

Your supposed to land with the mid section of yor feet.

  • Thanks for the review;. I've been on YT all morning looking at reviews.

  • Gloves for feet!!!

  • @mokyichow ive been walking and running barefoot almost everywhere my whole life, my mom tries to make me wear shoes, i told her i'd meet in the middle with these. which model should i get?

  • The only review you need is to watch any televised marathon. You'll see world-record contenders wearing racing flats, not these. Case closed. But hey, if you like snake oil, have at it!

  • @selim423 Actually, running flats have a lot in common with these shoes...no support, no cushioning, no heel, close to barefoot. If these are 'snake oil', then racing flats are too...

...and I think the fivefingers are a bit more about trail running, more informal stuff...

...but if you've got the money to throw at a pair of racing flats for every hundred miles you run before they fall apart on you then go for it...

  • I have one in pink. Unfortunately I have to stop wearing them after I accidentally stepped on a sharp object while running on the road last year. Got my ankle dislocated and my feet bleeding =/

Takes 5minutes or so to wear both shoes, wearing the toe part will eat most of your time LOL

Not advisable to wear on road you're not familiar with as you can literrally feel the texture of the floor..worst, you can step on sharp objects..

  • whoa i really want a pair i heard you run faster barefoot is that true

  • Ok it's pronounced VEEbrums.

It's an Italian company. I makes the ee sound.

  • You've got to stop telling yourself they're the shit and realize them for the marketing abomination that they are.

  • OMG LOOK AT THOSE FEET 0:56

  • Try running in chuck taylor converse allstar. They also make you land with forefoot when you walk or run. Now im a forefoot runner and advise people agains heel striking.

  • can u were them in the water and if you can..if i were them in chlorinated water will they fade

  • @Darnellsolo All coloured fabric fades in chlorine

  • what are these are they shoes

  • @kris10ish obviously dipshit.

  • @kris10ish

    Actually they're hats.

  • @nkhechog123 ,Don't call something natural when its not !! Obviously something has gone wrong genetically to cause homosexuality !! And no i'm not a homophobe !

  • @sn9696 Sounds like something went wrong when your parents raised you. Ignorance must run in your genes.

  • these things are way overpriced for what they are....i mean come on, it really isn't that much different than water shoes (like you said) with individual toes

  • @randomnessrocksu I'd say they're cheaper than a pair of Jordan's which do absolutely nothing for your feet

  • @Wolfendale69 who said anything about Jordan's (which i don't wear)? lol

  • @randomnessrocksu lol just an example about ridiculously expensive shoes can be completely useless. the cost seems to be all for functionality in the vibrams

  • hey whered u get those shorts i like em

  • hey im considering getting some of these im a freshman highschool runner and ive been running for 4 years now would you say these are good for trail running and stuff because thats what we do alot of in preperation for races so can you use these on dirt trails with rocks and stuff?

  • When I was a little kid, when I would get a new pair of sneakers I thought (and felt like) I was superman and I could outrun a speeding bullet. Of course I was 5 years old and weighed 45 lbs. My point is - although these shoes feel great if you over extend your self something will probably snap at some point especially I you don't give yourself time to acclimate to your new super powers.

  • Just got a pair of these, WOW. This is freakin' genius, the only thing that beats it is actually being barefoot.

  • hi i just entered cross country for my college im really interested in getting a pair. can you tell me how they work in dirt roads please?

  • @emirguy they are great on dirt roads and wood chip trails and rocks ect, you can feel the woodchips/rocks but its more like tiny pebbles. I would recomend these shoes and reading a book called Born to Run if you havent already. It will inspire you to can your running shoes and take off for the longest run of your life (the book doest get good until page 30 but dont quit reading it)

  • OMG! I'm so jealous! They look extremely comfy...(off to do some online shoe shopping)lol

  • can play basketball in these?

  • Ohh how much it sucks having a really wide foot.... I would never fit into these probably..

  • @WAFFLES081 the site says that they fit up to an EEE wide. Granted I have no idea how wide that is or the kind of fit but that is what there site says :)

  • @IanPittsGuitar

Interesting, apparently i never went on the website.. now i want to try these on.

  • Comment removed

  • @WAFFLES081 I have EEE feet and they fit fine.

  • @briwright63

    Awesome, thanks

EEE stands for Extra extra extra wide? =P

  • This particular "shoe" will not isolate heat coming from the ground.

    That is its downfall.

IMO it's the type of shoe you will use for a couple hours, not for long periods of time.

  • i got a pair there soo hot

  • really annoying accent

  • @Superbill2 you have to go slow... very slow... you will injure yourself if you go all hard core... you actually have to baby into these.

  • i've had my kso's 3 months, you use your calves a lot more so for the first 3 weeks i wore them all over. now my calves dont hurt. my stride has changed, land more flatfooted. best part is i can run outside again, my knees don't hurt. and i'm upping my mileage again, its like turning back the years.

shoes are the bomb. downside have to wash them frequently, they can get gamey.

  • This looks just about as silly as wearing flippers

  • @superbill2 learn to run!

  • I just got some KSO Treks, basically these but with a more grip on the bottom, and maybe a little thicker sole.

But i agree with what you said completely, it definitely helps my joints a ton, i used to have pain after every run in my knee or hip even, and with these shoes i have none of that pain. Its crazy how much that means. And on top of that I can run further, faster and easier with these shoes.

Never going back to "normal" shoes again.

  • they are awesome shoes. i have a pair of sprints myself. but they are pronounced VEE-brum

  • I have the same color of kso's, and I love them.

  • Has anyone really been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

  • i was considering buying a pair, but i was just wondering if running on concrete with them hurts? It looks like it would.

  • @stefman147

No it doesnt. Just got my pair monday and I ran 3 1/2 miles on concrete (I advise you not to do this, take it slow or the barefoot experience will hurt!) It really felt fine and I was doing 7:40 mile pace

  • These are running shoes, not some kind a fashion statement. These shoes are supposed to make it feel like you are wearing nothing. It strengthens your foot and ankle muscles.

  • Shoes for gays.

  • @NavyMA12 That coming from someone "in the navy"? Hah fail

  • @NavyMA12 I take it you have a pair or two?

  • @NavyMA12 leave the same comment on every one of the videos about this shoe? maybe you should find something more constructive to do.

  • I am a distance runner in High school. Would these be good for distance running? if so, Which model of the Vibram Five Fingers should I get?

  • @Ig1veUP I am no expert but I don't see why not... people have been running barefoot until the last hundreds of years. =) Kenya anybody?

I'd say the KSO, it's like the classic but it got the mesh top to keep stuff out.

  • @MokYiChow

Thank you for the help. I already bought them and I love them; I think they'll be great for my running.

  • @MokYiChow Right, I think the Kenyans run everywhere, that's why they are so good and win all the marathons. I mean, they'll run 5,10,20 miles just to get to school, I think I saw on a documentary. The Tarahumara Indians are legendary though, and they run in sandals made from tires, for a 100 miles or so. Interesting link below from Men's Health Magazine, in their Motivation section: (take out spaces)

    tinyurl . com / 29hfkhs

  • @MokYiChow This is a little late but if you didn't already know about it, there's a chart that tells you what each style of Vibram best suits. I don't know the link off the top of my head but Google can tell you.

  • @Ig1veUP Being a long distance runner myself, I probably wouldn't recommend them for running. Granted I don't own a pair (although I'm very interested for hiking and daily use) for running you need more support and cushioning. If you're looking for a light shoe like these then I recommend the Nike lunarlights. Probably the closest thing to these but adequate for running.

MokYiChow, great review by the way...makes me want to try these out

  • @rubixide The whole point of these shoes is for the feeling of going barefoot. Not for the support and cushioning. Also, you don't NEED more support and cushioning. Your body is actually built to run barefooted.

  • @Ig1veUP The KSO's are a great option especially for the price, ($85) but I would go with the Vibram FiveFingers Bikilas. They are built for running distance/XC but they are $100. They both are great for distance running however.

  • @Ig1veUP These shoes increase your efficiency in running and should help your stride (while also working your calves). I don't own a pair myself but after reading reviews on the VFF I'd say Vibram is good for any type of running.

  • @Ig1veUP I think you'll enjoy the VFF, but only if you take the time to get used to the new running form that naturally comes with these "almost like barefoot shoes".

With traditionnal running shoes I run 10k in 45min without feeling any or very little soreness in my calves.

With the VFF KSO Trek I could only run 15 min b/c I felt pain in my calfes (soleus).

IMO, they are great shoes that really help building up strong lower legs and feet. We just gotta get used to this "new tech" ;-)

  • @Ig1veUP i think the Nike Free would be better considering you run long distance and you want a little more heel support

  • @CoachJohnMcGuirkFTW no you don't you shouldn't need heel support you don't really use the heel in these

  • @Ig1veUP barefoot running is urged mostly in distance running

  • @Ig1veUP I use mine for running all the time but i usually just run for like 3 miles but i dont feel any discomfort afterwords

  • @Ig1veUP I use mine for running all the time but i usually just run for like 3 miles but i dont feel any discomfort afterwords and i have the KSO and they work great

  • @Ig1veUP

Sure, humans have been running long distance, 50+ miles a day just hunting for thousands of years. Do you think they had long distance running high tech shoes? No. We evolved to run barefoot, obviously thats better

  • I read a lot on these shoes and got myself this pair...I walked in them 3-4 days ran 1-2 miles twice the first week and then week2 ran 4 miles in them and really messed up my knee. Its been 2 weeks since i've run and feels like my knee cap has been hit with a hammer (runners knee). Maybe i should have taken it slower but my calves felt fine my knee took the beating. Super comfy to wear but not sure if i will ever run in them again.

  • @superbill2

you need to use proper technique if you run in these, if your heel strikes the ground first, these shoes won't absorb the shock properly. You have to run on the balls of your toes.

  • @PureRockenEuzo fair enough and bought these cause i had arch pain. But...I didn't have arch/foot/or ankle pain when i wore them or after...only pain in my knee, which was unexpected..Especially since i've never experience knee pain in my previous 4 months of running, and H/S sports before this.

  • @superbill2 not really sure what could cause that, it could just be that your legs aren't used to barefooting or something. What kind of arch pain are you having?

  • @superbill2 Did you run on the balls of your feet? A lot of people tend to run heel first which is the way you injure yourself. When running, you gotta lean a bit forward.

  • @superbill2 Yeah ease into it, your joints and muscles are probably not used to all those pressure right off the bat; hope you are feeling better now!

  • @superbill2 they tell you on the website and the little brochure that comes with it to take it slow because your tendon and joint aren't used to it at all. i wore mine for 5 days straight and went running and to the gym, then my tendon was burning,so i went back to my other shoes for 2 days, and im alternating right now. and fyi you might have torn your meniscus, ive torn mine a dozen times running and what not.

  • @superbill2 Check out a YT video titled "Vibram Five Fingers vs. Huarache Running Sandals." If you developed knee pain running in your Five Fingers, you were probably heel striking with your foot extended in front of you instead of landing evenly with your weight over your foot.

  • @superbill2 you probably were running wrong. You dont run like you do with other shoes, you have to run more on the front of your foot. its ok though you'll get the hang of it after a while =)

  • @superbill2 the reason your knee is shot is because u were most probably heel striking with a shoe that has no padding on the heel. go see a specialist so they can tell you what you are doing wrong if you cant work it out yourself. ive gone for a few runs and my calves are loaded up WAY more then before and i feel no stress on any joints, from my research on barefoot running that is what you are meant to experience

  • @superbill2 Check your form.

  • Thank you for posting this. I have the same exact ones and I have been walking with more of the ball of my foot hitting the ground first too and it DOES work your calf more. The only thing with mine is that I have two hammer toes for my pinky toe and my 4th digit toe too so on one foot it doesn't really reach into the pinky toe but I have grown to love these even with that being said.

    thanks

  • cool. i want a pair. btw nice pink shorts dude.

  • @cshstv2 Thank you sir, real men wear pink.

  • @MokYiChow No... tough men wear pink...

  • great job Mok

  • you know what shoes are AWESOME!!! nike free 5.0s. OMG THEY ARE AWESOME. i bought myself a pair and i couldnt be happier with them. they are soooo free!!! so flexible! they are fantastic shoes, and unlike five-fingers, they look casual enough to be worn anywhere

  • @CalebTheGuitarist I dunno, a few of my friends have pairs of KSOs, and they wear them anywhere they would wear tennis shoes. Either way, they aren't a fashion statement; they're part of an effort to fix a bad running habit CAUSED by extra padded running shoes.

(One of those friends also swears by Nike Free, so it isn't like he's biased.)

  • i had a paire of work gluves like that there graight for gripping things but they wore out in 2 months but there like 8 bucks to replace not 80 im just thinking your waight on them and road surfaces and gritty side walks they be tost in no time

  • i think the ware out fast

  • my friend has had them for over a year and wears them every single day, summer and winter, and they last just fine. the sole is very durable.

  • I plan on wearing them every day when I run, 3 or 4 miles at a time. Probably in good, clear outside conditions. If it's raining, I'll use them on the treadmill. Is this comparable to your friend's routine? I don't wanna waste 85 bucks.

  • @markoftheking777 kind of. he wears them as his only shoes, even in the winter (we live in maryland). he walks to all his classes on campus in them. i don't know that he runs as much as you're planning to, but given that he gives them no rest for 10-15 hours a day in all weather conditions, i think you should be fine.

i just got my KSOs today and the fit and feel is great. make sure you try them on because i measured a size 41, but size 40 fits me much better.

  • They don't. I have a friend that has been running 10-14 miles a day in the sprint version for around a month now. I checked out the bottoms of his shoes and saw almost no wear which was really surprising.

  • I wear my kangaroo suede KSO Treks to my white collar job in Hawaii and get plenty of "looks" from folks. I love them - the looks and the shoes. I wish I had also bought the regular KSOs for my fast walking because the "classics" have a definite design flaw with the tab back at the Achilles which wears a blister every time I wear them - in spite of fitting well. I would NOT recommend the "classics" for anything!

  • what would be the proper way to measure your foot with sock included and order a pair from the internet considering its not like i ll buy them from a shop to return if they dont fit properly .....

  • You really should try to find a shop around you that have them, the sizing is really weird. They might have a conversion chart on their website, but get them at a local shop if you can.

  • @globalcom150

go to the website, there is a guide

  • @globalcom150 there are directions on the site. set your foot against a flat wall and measure to your longest toe - the chart on the site converts it to their numbering (38-47). if at all possible, try them on somewhere. if no place has your color (i called 6 stores in MD area before i found my size and luckily they were in a color i liked), try the fit anyway and order online based on that. try to try on the design you'll buy - KSOs fit different than Mocs, classics, or sprints.

  • Do you guys wear toe socks with these?

  • @tipoomaster It's optional.

The socks help in cold weather a lot.

They are also good if you don't want to wash them that often. Without socks, they get stinkier quicker.

They also help A LOT in avoiding calouses / skin rubbing. Without the socks I have to put 2 bandaids on each foot to protect the skin.

Only issue is that once you start wearing them with socks, I THINK they stretch out the show a little more, so you continue using the socks.

  • not needed, but its a good idea for cold days. I've gone in 30-40 deg (f) weather and didnt have problems.

  • Thanks, but it gets much colder than that here, which is why I asked. Its not unusual to see -30 degrees Celsius, which is -22 F.

  • Although not ok for -22 degrees, the Vibram 5 fingers FLOW design is good for about 15 degrees farenheit.

  • I just got the KSO's today and I already love them! What I wonder, though, is that when I walk, is my heel supposed to touch the ground last, or does it not matter when walking? I know that with running, the ball of your foot should hit first, which comes naturally to me, but the same rule with walking feels kind of awkward. Someone please advise!

  • you should run with your mid/forefoot and it should come naturally when your barefoot, if you are still heel striking when bare foot then you have a problem.

  • Any chaffing/rubbing/blisters 1) between toes 2) back heel from back of edge 3) sole rubbing/slipping after shoe stretches ?

  • @PillowcaseHead most of the blisters hit the inner front part of the foot , near the ball... that area basically gets the most rubbing

    socks help eliminate it 99%

ive put a few hundred miles on my KSO,s and after a while i had a few slight dead skin cells at the tips of my big and second toes

  • would MY toes fit nicely in them??? everyones feet are different... i cant imagine these would be good for everyone

  • @CalebTheGuitarist like all shoes they do mould to your foot, so yes they would fit nicely, but as a personal trainer who works very closely with a podiatrist, occupational therapists and an exercise physiologist these shoes are only suitable if your use to running barefoot or in shoes with very minimal padding, otherwise if you make the extreme change from cushioned runners to these some people tend to develop plantar fasciitis, in MHO these would be suitable to train in but not for competing.

  • @harry092 they do tell you to slowly get used to wearing them in all the brochures. They make you develop your muslces in your foot and lower leg that by wearing shoes we have ignored for so many years. In MHO ;o)

  • @CalebTheGuitarist you need to try them on in store but for most i've heard toes fit fine...They don't make a really wide shoe so they don't fit everyone but even if you're toes curl a bit or are super long they should work...

  • @CalebTheGuitarist The sizes are pretty precise, I think/ Obviously if you have web toes or something it's not going to work out, but it's not that much more obnoxious than getting fitted for normal running shoes. If anything it's better.

  • @CalebTheGuitarist

they are designed for standard sized feet. Mine are long and skinny, so the velcro strap is pulled super tight to pull all the material together. best to get a size a little big, than a little small imo.

  • @CalebTheGuitarist Ideally you should try them on before buying. I'd say some of my toes do not reach all the way forward, but because of the hard rubber bottom holding the toes up so the structure holds and it doesn't bother me much.

  • I want them but like everything its more than double the price where i live! $200!

  • idk if its worth 80 bucks... its barely non-existent! and they want to charge twice as much as other shoes for half the material... lol..

but MAN i want them lmao

  • @CalebTheGuitarist Yeah but you get them for less than half the price that i do!

  • they use less material but they use better material and they last two to three times longer than a regular pair of shoes so its more worth it than it seems, not to mention they are healthier

  • hmm.... maybe they only last longer becase people wear them less....

  • I highly recommend the KSOs over the classics...i get stuff in my classics even when walking in cut grass...the KSO really does Keep Stuff Out (KSO).
