  • cool see you there in chicago sounder JK

  • Too bad you didn't know that was coming You could have gone to Harpers Ferry to get it on the bridge.

  • Definitley different! No doubt Yea my first thot was oh there goes a California train! Thanks for sharing!

  • I wonder if amtrak would get bi level's like the one's on sounder trains, much sleeker and nicer but they don't look good for long distance. But what the hell do i know.

  • 1) MARC does not now, nor has ever, operated Bombardier bi-levels such as the Sounder equipment. MARC has Kawasaki and ex-Metra Pullman bi-levels.

    2) MARC is not in the position to loan out any of their railcars. They are actually facing a huge capacity shortage. And, actually, MARC purchased 13 VRE Kawasaki bi-levels, to add capacity.

    3) MARC does not have any F59PHI's in their system.

  • I was on board the Empire Builder that carried another Sounder consist the rest of the way home. You can ride along by searching Empire Builder Carrying Seattle Sounder Cars (1), (2) and (3). Those cars sure looked out of place blasting through the blowing snow of frigid North Dakota! (2) Shows the consist at Whitefish, Montana, where I got a shot of VRE schedules still inside the car.

  • Nice catch! This set was being loaned to VRE and is probably returning to Seattle. PS: The loco is an F59PHI, not an FP59.
