can someone help me out... i can't seem to make it make any sound. like when you were changing the automatic filter setting and it was making the sounds, no sound comes out for me. please could you help me out. cheers
i dont think i could possibly put into words exactly how much you helped me but /watch?v=1-W3zgczzRM is what happened so thank your sooo damn much for this vid, this is the first time i have ever made a song so again thank you for the advise, it definitely helped.
i was jus wondering on your softwear instruments wen you clicked the "i" an opend the bass section i noticed that you have some extra bass effects.. where did you get those from bro.
The auto filter on garageband makes a slightly off time wobble bass due to the fact that the Auto filter's track of "Up down" starts by going down when a wobble must start by going up to express the wOw in wobble. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
@zacwilkins17 My recommendation is check out my tutorial. Then first thing you should do is create the wobble bass. Then export ONLY the wobble bass as an audio file. Then input it back into garageband.
You have a good start for the bass, but I have a few recommendations. (1) Start with a 50% saw wive, 50% square wav, and (2) add an AUDistortion on top of this. You can see it better in my wobble bass tutorial. I hope this helps you.
Oh, also, DeadMau5 has a tutorial on dubstep, and he exports his midi wobblebass file to an audio track (in garageband, I export the wobble at different rhythm's), and then import them as a new audio track to modify. Hope this helps buddy!
@IWearARing I wish I could.. I haven't really played around with enough though. School is pretty busy at the moment. Remind me in a month or two, holidays are coming :P
@flexibull could you do a tutorial on how to create a bass DROP, I've been trying to figure out a way to get a bass drop so i can create and opening intro for my band
I have a question.. I'm new to garageband so this may be a silly question, but how do I record the exact sound I'm playing? I'll be playing a section and sliding the speed up and down as it's recording, but when I go back and listen, the speed doesn't change the way I made it. It just has one wobble speed when I go back and listen. Any way I can make it playback exactly what I played in the first place?
@kokenos24 Hmm, Having the same problem. The easiest way around it is to record the sound that garageband makes while your changing the speed (Without pressing record in GB), as in use a audio recorder like "Audio Hijack'. It Records every sound that garageband makes and turns it into a mp3 or similar. So you'd then put that file into Garageband. Hope that helps.
@flexibull you have to go to add automation, much like you would to play with the volume, then choose analog mono, then under that choose anolog speed, then youd be all set.... just did it and it works great!
@kokenos24 On the left hand side where the mute buttons are is a little arrow pointing down where you can change the volume and other effects in real time. Click on it and choose "add automation" A window should then pop up. Choose "Automatic Filter" and then check the box that says "Speed". You can then adjust what speed you want the base to be, anywhere in the track.
@kokenos24 it whas my prob to but u got a little button on the bottom of the page and its look like a cirkel just click it and play ur done? push it again
@kokenos24 Take a look at the bar on the left hand side of the actual track that you want to change the speed on. When you're looking there, you should see the icon representing that bar, the enable/disable record button, a speaker button, headphones, and an arrow pointing down. If you already have the automatic filter on and set to wobble, when you click the arrow down button and click the drop down menu the follows that, there should be the option for automatic filter. Enable it.
@kokenos24 Once you enable it, you can adjust the speed of the wobble manually with dots on the green line. (The green line is a part of the track you recorded and is immediately beneath it) To adjust the speed just click a point on that line and drag up or down depending on what you want the speed to be. Does that make sense? I'm terrible at explaining things...
@FuckinSceneKid As far as im aware it automatically recognizes when midi is plugged in. But if that doesn't work go to (Preferences - Audio/Midi - and change the input settings.)
hey quick question, say i record a track with the wobble, can i go back into the track and change the wobble for differents notes in the track, or do i have to get a new track?
quick question - can someone tell me something about the wobble bass, if you click the key to play it, you may notice that it has a hard sort of "plucking" sound rite wen you click it, but then it goes away if you hold the key as the bass wabbles. I want to get that hard first plucking sound off. anybody know what i'm talking about?
Hey, so I have the standard garageband that comes with my macbook and I can't find all this stuff. How do I get the version you have? Do I have to buy it?
All you do is click on the track settings bar, add automation, and controll the speed, intensity, and frequency with the line below the track. Hope this helps, peace!
can you set the filtered bass to a slot of sorts and make more than one er two slots and play the fast with the slow or one after the other after the other...i suppose that would take editing but just wondering if its possible...also what type of midi controler does anyone think i should purchase.
So basically in order to make a track that has the wobble you need to record yourself manipulating the speed from that menu presumably using a midi controller?
