@jerrydff7 Check all your settings in Sony. So many switches its easy to turn the sound off. That all the help I can give you. Let me know if you get it working.
I have a GZ-MG130U and I use "Any Video Converter" to convert my video clips! Any Video Converter is the best and most simple program, and It converts the video clip to ANY FILE!
When I try to upload a video , it says upload pictures ... how do I upload videos , and I don't want to upload my video directly to YouTube , I want it to be saved in my video document . So please answer How Do I upload videos instead of pictures . ANYONE HELP ME !!! ( btw I'am using a Windows XP )
I've been trying to convert a quicktime video taken with my digital camera to a usable windows media file without losing any of the original quality. I tried to change the extension but even after I rename the file the quicktime mov file extension still shows up at the end of the file name and when attempting to put it into windows movie maker I get an error message that movie maker does not support the file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
You need to convert to a WMV or AVI format to use in Movie Maker. Do a Google search on converting files to WMV, you will probably find a program that will do the job. Let me know if this helped.
Thanks for getting back so quickly. I already tried that and spent $50 to download OJOsoft Total Video Converter. When converting to WMV I lose audio for some reason and when converting to AVI the converter freezes up. I can't begin to tell you how many hours and days I have into this already.
Thanks for the tips. The only question I have then is; if I use that Microsoft Encoder to convert to .wmv, will I then be able to use Windows Movie Maker to edit it? I don't have any other editing software...and don't really feel like investing in one just yet.
I suggest you load the software that came with the camera. You can also use this software to convert the files to AVI which works nicely with Microsoft MovieMaker. Let me know if this works.
I went through a bunch of crap to deal with these files (.MOD). the video would always seam to come into an editor with the Audio missing, or the Picture messed up. I downloaded Corel VideoStudio-12 trial and the software worked with the file no problems.
What I've done for this really annoying little task... is just rename the file. If you are able to see the ".mod" extension for example in "MOV103.MOD" You can just rename it to "MOV103.MPG" Though, this may not be the extension you need in order to use it on your editor...
But I must confess when I stopped doing it my way and loaded the software that came with the camera my life with this camera improved. :) I found out years ago with computers there are several avenues you can take to arrive at the same place. The only advantage to this is it teaches you something you did not know the day before. The comments to this video provides excellent conclusions, and I thank you for yours.
i use sony vegas 7, and i cant figure out how to get the videos from my JVC EVEIRO GZ-MG330RU onto the program, its very confusing using all the converters and stuff. is there an easier way?please let me know soon..
I have vista, and when i right click on the video file, then press rename, i dont have the option to change .mod to mpg... CAn you please help me. thanks
I use XP and I am not familiar with Vista, but I think you can import the MOD file directly into the file without changing it. If you have PowerCinema that comes with the JVC do this. Start you PowerCinema software Select Copy Edit Everio_HDD Place checkmark on the movie file you want to convert Copy/Edit Files Advance Editing Power Director will automatically start. Edit Select Aspect Ratio 4:4 or 16:9 Drag Movie Icon to the bottom editing space Produce Create a File Icon-
Press the Arrow Select AVI Press the Arrow again Select file name and location in the left portion of the form Press the Check Mark. Thats it. This will give you an AVI file which is a large file, but with this file you will maintain the quality of your video. My Sitting on a High Country Porch talking was transferred using this process. Let me know how it worked for you
Inside Windows Vista, youre going to have to turn on file extensions. While inside an explorer window, click on Organize the select Folder and Search Options. A Folder Options window will open, click on the View tab. On the View tab, about 10 items down, there is an option Hide extensions for known file types - you want to make sure that this box is unchecked.
Frank I just downloaded the media converter I brought my MOD file in I get an error while encoding saying it won't handle the audio codec. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Frank I also have the same problem with the conversion. I haven't tried what you have said but I'm going to. When I did with another converter I have perfect video but no sound when I play it back on windows media player. I hope this converter works. thanks Bill
If you purchased your JVC new it came with a program called Power Cinema. If you can get access to this program it converts the MOD to AVI which lodes up into Movie Maker a-ok. Try JVC website to see if it is a free download. Let me know if it works for your.
hello sir..one more thing..there are many media encoders in the ms site..anyone specific? i am trying anything to get to play my clips on wmv with SOUND!!
The free Microsoft Encoder version 9 should do the trick for you. The thing you probably need to do is click on the audio portion of the encoder and make sure it is looking at the correct audio device on your computer. It may be looking at something other than a sound device. Let me know if this works.
Thanks for the replies, i really appreciate it. i have not tried nothing yet, last friday was very brain exhausting trying the things other youtubers posted! have you seen that program call movavi? or something like that? i will try that...its not that expensive. u see, i am not a pc geek at all..wish i was! but i will try first the encoder" message u sent me. if only i had sound when i play my mod files in wmv i would be a happy camper...those damn mod are a pain!
sir..would this give SOUND? that is my prob, i have a gzms100, and i can watch my mod clips on wmv! BUT WITH NO SOUND! AND THAT IS WHAT I NEED! any adviced?
Another thought. You probably need to review the video by playing it back through the camera. The JVC has a small built in speaker, and this should tell you if your video was recorded with sound. Now days with all the functions available on devices its really easy to get something turned off when it should be on. Please come back and leave a comment if you solve your problem we can all learn from each others experiences.
Rename the.MOD to MPG. Open Microsoft Movie Maker and import the MPG into the Movie Maker. Pull the image into the storyboard then go to File "Save Movie File" this will convert your MPG file to WMV. Once you get it converted to WMV your off and running. Let me know if this helps. Dont edit until you have a WMV.
You can try another download from Microsoft "Microsoft Expression Encoder"
I take no responsibility for corrupted files using the above. Good Luck and keep me informed.
I had the GZ-MG130U and liked it a lot, but gave it to my son and bought the JVC GZ-HD7U HiDef prosumer cam. I'll be very interested to see if the MS Media Encoder works on it's video file, yet still retain the HiDef quality. I've just been using the Cyberlink software that comes with it, but don't really like it.
I think you are referring to the postage-stamp effect where the top and bottom of the image is black. If this is what you're referring to then you need to change your aspect ratio from [16:9] to 4:3 Go to page 49 of the owner's manual, and it will tell you how to accomplish this. The quality of your video should stay the same. That's what I did, and I am satisfied with the results.
the files say MOV and i renamed them to MPG but it does not work

That's pretty lame that JVC decided to make some proprietary format.. I wish it was in MP4 , it seems like that should be the default.
