AAAAAARGGGH!!!! You left us hanging at the very final stage of exporting our .blend project to .avi! What is the final step once I've made all the resolution and file type settings and I've chosen my directory path? How do I initiate the actual 'save to .avi' action?
oh and btw: its much better if u use (for example) textures of gimp or whatever else. i think you can convert the text in a editable mesh and use the uvimage editor.
Everything is good up to ALT-A. I get a little black box (mouse cursor) counting the frames(?) it is generating and the graphic rotates on the screen. I have to right click to get the little box to stop. Following the tutorial word for word I can not get a file to save. I can not get any output. When I click on render animation, the screen appears, a single frame is rendered, numbers whirl at the top of the screen but nothing moves. I end up having to ctrl-alt-del to kill the program.
No I mean that I move the camera so it is facing the text, and I render the frame, and the object appears. I add the particles and animate it, and the particles come out of nowhere. The text does not appear.
@thundermaster77 To make the emitter object appear in a particle animation, you have to check the "Emitter" box under the Visualization tab of the particles.
No I don't think that is the problem. I set where the camera goes in the beginning. I render the text first, and it seems to work. But when I add the particle system to anything the shape does not appear in the animation. Just the particles.
@thundermaster77 did u click "locrot" by pressing "i"..coz dnt knw about u but it works perfectly for me... watch the video again u must be doing a mistake
I converted the text into a mesh so that I could make the words get blown away like dust. One problem. When I animate it, the text does not appear. Only the particles appear. What's wrong?
@thundermaster77 i must have not set the camera properly, press num 0 to see what activities is the camera capturing, or shift + f to move the camera in fly mode through mouse
Another excellent tutorial. I had worked out most of this but what is invaluable is the link to Paolo Ciccone's page. There are a lot of Blender tutorials out there but yours and his are great because you both get your message across so clearly. I think a lot of people posting tutorials need to script them first so there would be a lot less umming and ahhing which is thankfully missing here.
I was just thinking about this. I constantly use text in my vids, and I'm getting sick of the default font. Thanks for showing us how to load a new font. That will make a huge difference in my work.
i got up to changing the colour but i have a new type of blender and i have no idea where i can change the colour

I don't get how to save the file. I can only save it as a blender file or a JPEG, not as a video.
SyKmGl 11 months ago

Yep cool stuff. Was just playing with text the other day. A cool thing to do is animate it through a lattice to deform it.
MikeHornett 1 year ago
@MikeHornett Yes, lattices are totally cool.
