  • Did anybody record Red Rover?

  • her best mate sarah had a fling with lindsey well after they broke up she's a gem

  • NOW THAT'S MUSIC KIDS...

  • i can't believe how much she puts into this!

    so much, everywhere

she flys in every single note of it, flies!

  • It will be great when her new album is out.. I am sure it will be very interesting. Lindsey records a song with her. An album with the two of them "Nicks & Buckingham" would definitely be a blast after all these years...

  • Did you say STEAK?

  • loved it when I saw it live in 04, and love it now.... I want another tour!

  • I still get goosebumps from the very first notes... LUVS ya, Stevie !

  • Thank you. Someone else who understands facts. It's not a matter of, "people seeing what they want to see"...but instead a factual knowledge of what happened between two people long ago; and the love that remains from it. Nothing 'pretend', about it. All artists from time to time correlate their feelings to the mood of their audience and even dramatize their emotions at times. Though, often times it's very real. There's great hidden meaning in many forms of art.

  • "Won't you swallow all your pride? There's a heartbeat that never dies... all I ever wanted was to know that you had been dreaming." That definitely refers to Lindsay.

  • @Minnepeach19 its about losing a child now if it was dons or linds ?don't no but ..............look at the works and sink up her failed pregnancys they will match

  • @GraceMcVie Hmm... Yeah, I think it is, in some odd way, about an abortion that Stevie had... But it's also about her love for Lindsey, and Mick, and any number of Eagles members... Remember, the 70's were a very different time than we are in at the current moment....

  • Stevie and Lindsey are soul mates... it's well documented in interviews by BOTH of them. The irony of this song is that it was written after they had broken up and Stevie was screwing around with Mick Fleetwood AND dating Don Henley. "The Great Dark Wing" refers to Mick Fleetwood and Don Henley was building a house at the time. However, many of the references refer to her love for Lindsey (poet in my heart). Lot of double meanings within this song... that's what makes it a classic.

  • The love between Stevie and Lindsey certainly is not, "an act", do your homework. Anyone, who's followed them over the years - and knows their story - knows the facts. They have openly admitted that they will always love one another. Yet, as mature adults they realize that you can love someone w/all your soul, but still know it's better to walk away (& not repeat mistakes). The fact that Lindsey will always have a connection with Stevie, does not denounce his love for his wife and children.

  • @05Valentia Don't believe everything you read: in one interview Joe Wals is the love of her life, in another one Don Henly, sometimes Lindsey Buckingham.

Being an artist, doing a lot of drugs, performing with a man she separated from perhaps she maybe created her own fantasyworld. Once I read that she only stopped loving L.B. when he got his first child. I also read that when she was asked if perhaps, maybe, in the future she and L.B. could be a couple again, she answered "over my dead body".

  • @05Valentia I think that if Mrs. Buckingham does her homework and knows all the facts, and knows that their behaviour is not "an act", being at home with her 3 children during the Fleetwood Mac tours, her life must be a living hell.

Or will Lindsey have convinced her: "honey, don't worry, this is what the audience wants to see and to believe..."

  • My favorite song of all time!!!

  • Inspired by this song I named my daughter Sarai...

  • One of the greatest records ever made. Period.

  • Stevie,we could have been so good together,if only our paths had crossed before now

  • If she STILL does, than it's not so fine

for Mrs. Buckingham and their 3 children.

I personally think it's an act, because that's what the public wánts to see and

think. It's part of the magic of The Mac.

  • @vakantieland4 personally I don't believe it's acting. And for what I've heard I feel for Lindsey being married to Kristin. I strongly believe Stevie and Lindsey belong together.

  • She STILL loves Lindsey,.....can you blame her? ;-)

  • @lvn4life and the second that

He STILL loves her..... look at the way he

    A. looks at her

    B.Holds her

    C. dances with her

    D. and .... closes his eyes when he kisses her

.....................NO i can not blame her they even have said when they r both on stage it feels like 72 all over again:)

  • Landslide proves they love each other he almost cried

  • Comment removed

  • errrmm , read 'storms' by carol anne and ask that question again .

  • @lvn4life they are soulmates!

  • There is something funny with this song, because I'm born on it and my name is Sara. That is soo funny.

    love this song x!

    xx <3

  • All through the 80s I swore that if i ever had a daughter, she would be called Rhiannon but the name became so popular that when it happened we called her Kelly. Maybe Sara could have been a second option.

  • Excellent footage. thanks!!!

  • Her Voice is not nearly the same..

  • Your Point? For being 61, she still is a kickass rock goddess.

  • @railfan95

61! no shit! I love her music and she looks great!

  • how cool to still be rocking it at 60

    stevie rules!

  • Love the flirting at the end... especially the one handed guitar playing : ) Lindsey's HOT!!!

  • He plays just for her

  • i was there when they debuted it in pocatello idaho 1979 and it still holds the magic. a true masterpiece from my queen

  • stevie still looks great!!

  • Great song I lvoe it to death but it sounds so different without Chris on the Keyboards :(

  • She has the most beautiful alto voice of anyone out there.

  • Wonderful song

  • The song is a masterpiece. :)

  • nhgranite1, this must be your only way of getting attention. get a life.

stevie said she didnt get fat by choice

she wasn't active because she was heavily sedated with Klonopin plus she had stopped using cocaine which takes your hunger.

i just seen her in an interview and she looks great.

  • I really don't know what the argument is here,

but it really doesn't matter what she looks or sounds like after all these years.

Im in admiration that she is still here and doing it. She's a middle aged woman for gods sake, what do you expect her to look like !

    Seriously, your just crackers.

    (Stevie i still love you!)

  • I was greeted by Stevie not too long ago in Detroit and she looked unbelieveable. I mean, smokin hot. (To be the age she is.) Madonna is hot too, but I would be with Stevie way before I would madonna. (And I think Madonna is God's gift!)

  • Thank you for your comment. Stevie's been my my lady since like 1978, I turned 45 in January. I'm still waiting for the day I get to meet her and thank her for how much her beautiful songs and voice have meant to me over the years. What a legend!

  • I get to meet mick in March. I am so excited!!! I am so excited! I don't know what I will say, but I think that I will write the entire band a little note on a card and have him deliver it, if he would.

  • nhgranite1....you dont understand spirit of song do you? what a sad person you must be!! This song is about a friend of Stevie's that died of cancer.....

  • im sorry but your mistaken; saw her in a documentary long ago; she spoke of her relationship with singer don henley; which she said produced soemthing neither were ready for; {figure it out for yourself}; she said" sara" was a reflection of that time in her life.

  • you should refernce Mick's Autobiography on this one. Trust me. It's there. I am sure that Stevie was dealing with a lot of issues in this song, but I do not think it was Don. Please look it up and let me knnow where in Mick's book you found it.

  • this song is about her relationship with Mick. And I think mick's daughter named, Sara. The, "great dark wing" is Mick's sports car he had at that time. This was done just before Mick told Lindsey that he and Stevie had been romantically involved.

  • Stevie said the only part about Mick is the "great dark wing".

  • Did you ask her? Cause Mick was saying that it was about that time in their relationship when he was telling Lindsey and the affair was ending. If you know her or know where to find that information that would be great. Cause there are other parts I don't know about...

  • I Dont know what Mick said

I'm just repeating what I read in a couple of interviews. she was asked about "when you build your house call me" and she admitted that part is about Don Henley.

i really doubt Stevie would write a song about a car that makes no sence.

  • Well, she didn't write it about the car. The lyric, "And he was just like a Great Dark Wing..." Is about the car Mick drove not the entire song. Who knows. Neither of us can set here and say we know the definitive answer. I just know what Mick said. If you have the interviews with Stevie I would like to read them.

  • There is a site inherownwords (.com) where you can find the song, sara and see that it was about Mick, his wife, about the other members of the band and parts of herself. The only mention of Don was, "When you build your house..." It;s right there just check it out and you will see I was right, lol just playing. On any level, the song is a masterpiece!

  • Stevie didnt say that's the only part about Don she was asked about that part and she admitted that it is about him

and just because Mick said something doesnt mean i'm going to believe it

he was writing a book to sell

i'm sure there's alot of nonsence in it

like lindsey said it can't be taken seriously.

  • i Read that it was about Stevie friend Sara, and that the "Great Dark Wing" line was when Mick drove up to her house and Sara was there, buts also about Don Henley.. and some other stuff

  • That is it... She said mostly Mick, but that when you build your house... was about Don. Now, I am to understand that there was something about EVERYONE in Sara, but it was 9 minutes long and they wouldn't hear of it on a Fleetwood Mac album...

  • Calm down. I'm just stating what i have read, from one of her Biographies, one fleetwood Mac biography, Servel interviews i have seen and Mick Fleetwoods Auto Biography.

  • Easy killer... I was only saying that you are right... Forgive me for agreeing with ya. I just added the last bit becuase I thought that you would find that interesting to know. No need to be so defensive.

  • Maybe next time don't start your comment with ..."That is it..." i think that was the key hit there.

  • what a shame... can't people be civil on the page of our rock fairy godmother... What kind of world is this?

  • i'm civil.. just giving you some constructice critisism about how you write your comments:)

  • cause you know how that will make things better... wow... if my comments are all you have to worry about...

  • i think i have more pressing issues in my life. maybe next time i wont even bother to comment...

  • Stevie Nicks rocksssssssssssssssssssss

  • Stevie looks like shes wearing 3 shawls....so that might explain her width...

  • i think stevie looks better than ever! Fuck you for saying that lame shit about stevie! Somethin 4 u 2 say since ur probibly a fat bitch urself!

  • Let's face it sweetheart. Stevie's not really arsed about what u think. And rightly so.

  • Who the hell are you to say any of that about Stevie Nicks? Did it ever occur to you that she became depressed, DUH go research your music history and learn the story behind fleetwood mac you stupid shit. Unfortunately people develope eating disorders when they're depressed wether it's anorexia or obesity. Chances are you're a male and I bet you would go gaga over an anorexic woman. Ha, you're a fucking joke.

  • We are lucky to still have her. Whatever people say. She survived a lot. She will always be a favorite of mine.

  • I hope she performs this next year when FM go on tour... it's stunning... one of my favourite Fleetwood Mac songs. Stevie still has her looks and more importantly, singing ability. She's amazing.

  • good goin chris....least ya posted...n stevie rox...o to sleep once n die happy

  • Thin, heavy, it doesn't matter... She's gorgeous... Take me to the sea of love sweetheart, you're perfect... Drowning, Drowning.....

  • She needs to this song at EVERY solo concert and at EVERY Fleetwood Mac concert !

  • Wow their music is timeless, sounds as good as ti did back then, seems they get better with ages, and it brings back so many memories that touched my heart, and their music was comfort toem when I was really ill, and they let me have a radio in my hospital room and someone called the radio station and asked them to play this song for me , they did and it means mroe now than before . Thank you Fleetwood Mac for being their!! Magician 2006

  • Check out Stevie singing Sara recently on PBS,s Soundstage 2008...GREAT!

  • Thank you for posting. This is one of the best bands of our time!!!

  • Chill out...she is doing "Sara" which is a rare treat indeed! Amazing and chilling version! Truly an amazing talent is Stevie....this is timeless..she will live in our hearts for all time!

  • excellent performance... and the classic twirl at the end was the cherry on top!

  • viva stevie por siempre!!!

  • kbbkoop- good luck with your figure when you are older doll, I was very hot also, and at 52 years old, cannot believe what is happening to my f----

body! GOOD LUCK to you, if you want to look 20 years old all your life hun! Its not easy baby!

  • When she is older? Stevie was born in May of '48, so she's rather older than you, oldfartwoman, and I'd wager a damn site more stunning.

  • Gath, you might want to read Oldfartwoman's post again. She was responding to someone else and sticking up for Stevie!

  • awesome seats! Great sound on vid.

  • she looks like mama cass' mama's mama...woo.

  • Mess w/ Stevie & you mess w/ me. She had on layers of clothes-to whomever out there dares criticize. She's mesmerizingly beautiful,& what a breath taking performance! I caught the show twice on that tour, & wasn't blessed to see Sara. So haters out there, suck it. I'm sure you have nowhere near the beauty & talent she possesses, and she's nearly 60 here!

  • Beautiful performance!

  • Stevie still sounds great, despite her weight!

  • Stevie's vocals are awesome

  • I never knew Stevie got that big. I remember hearing her say, that the Klonopin that her doctor insisted on her taking caused her to not care about anything, it made her lazy. This is why she got so big. She is now slimmer since getting off that crap.

  • fuck what happed to stevey

  • drugs

  • great video quality

  • stevie's timeless...

  • ohmygod she is amazing

  • Always brilliant!

  • i saw this performance and it was extremely cold out... She kept us warm with her music and love...

  • What a mean terrible thing to say... How dare you.

  • Don't pay attention to billthestinker...he proably is an uneducated idiot that the welfare system supports...

  • I really don't think she was all that heavy in 2004. I think she just had a lot of extra clothing on that night because it was a chilly evening. I think this is the same concert where the guy jumped up on stage during "Beautiful Child" and gave her a hug.

  • One of the most gorgeous women ever, you can sing to me all you want, beautiful.

  • great footage!!

  • Oh my god! This is simply perfect!

  • awesome!!!!!!!!! thank you stevie!

  • Makes me cry!!!

  • For all her figure critics, you should see her now, she must have called Jenny Craig,or Jenny clled her. Some big-mouths are going to eat their words, after they insert their their size 16 foot in it.

  • Only a true legend could rate an10 or 10+

  • AT 2:04 she looks a little "fatter" not in a bad way but take a little look. At her past concert it looks like she lost weight.

  • thats cause now she can eat. couldnt before cause she was always touring. let her eat!

  • no, she got heavy because she was addicted to Klonopin and other drugs. She is now clean.

  • People who think she's "lost her voice" should really watch this. For a cold night in an outdoor venue, she really hits it out of the park vocally in this one.

  • i never really liked sara performed live until i heard this. this is really amazing. signature red shaw and hair up, stevie looks beautiful.

  • want to see more of this concert.stevie is perfect in everyway.who gives a damn about hw they age.its all about the music!

  • I agree. It doesn't matter what she looks like. This song and the many others that she has applied her beautiful voice to are an eternal thing of beauty.

  • No. Christine McVie decided to retire after the 1998 "The Dance" reunion. I saw FM in 2005 in Raleigh, NC. Great show and Sara was an awesome surprise! This footage is from the Say You Will album. Chris is actually on this album, too.

  • Does anyone know if Christine McVie toured with FM during this concert? I didn't see her...

Stevie is amazing here... my favorite line in the song was always "all I ever wanted, was to know that you were dreaming" I love how she repeats it over and over at the end.

  • It's amazing how well she sings so many years later.

  • John McVie on bass!

  • she's no where near her size. retard. fart.

  • woman who farts is right, mama cass wore a size 68 army tent, stevie is only up to a size 56, but much prettier, and more talent in my opinion

  • You're an idiot.

  • this is my favorite song of all time

  • Wonder Woman spin! You go Stevie! Lindsay's guitar at the end is awesome!

  • I love her hair and that red skarf.

  • awesome

  • this song always takes me away...

    awesome Stevie!

  • anyone who doesn't like this song doesn't have a heart.

  • Awesome vocals and arrangement!

  • Stevie's best song ever, imo. Thanks for video.

  • She looks really good for her age, wow.

  • I think I'm gonna be sick. I didn't go to the last Fleetwood Mac or Stevie Nicks tour b/c I got tired of her NOT performing this classic. Now I'm just finding out in '07 that she did perform it. Ugh!

  • seriously I'm obsessed with that guitar solo. I wish I had it on my ipod.

  • This is very rare concert footage ~ really Awesome really

  • I love this song...probably my favorite Mac song, why isn't there more of this on youtube?

  • One day in the not so distant future, I'll be in a small, smoky, back alley 100 person blues bar in Paris about 3 in the morning, in walks Stevie and Lindsey and they ask if they can perform a special song for the audience. At 3:07am the strains of Sara begin to softly emanate, Stevie locks eyes with me on the front row as she refrains "All I ever wanted was to know you were dreaming." while a small tear runs down her left cheek.

Thanks Chris1345 for the 2004 version!!

  • thier is no other queen of rock r roll, shes a legend always will be...tmb

  • stevie can always sing....

  • You SUCK! She is not fat! You're just jealous cuz you're not that good looking. She can sing like no one else so SUCK IT!!!

  • stevie....you're the poet in MY heart.

I am glad you gave of yourself and decided to do this song live again after nearly 25 years I believe....Thank you

  • From Ptulip: "Why does she not like to perform this one live?" Well, that's a long story. You can read from many fan sites and Stevie interviews why. It's a deeply moving personal song from Stevie's heart that opens her personal life for all to see. Most prefer to keep that side secret and never show it.

  • "youre the poet in my heart"... no other comment seems necessary

  • good to see lindsey there

  • There are those that can't be questioned they just are. It's not hairdo or costume it's the message and talent when they are sending a heartfilled message. Stevie Nicks is one of the greats that shares herself from the heart.

  • I AM SO JEALOUS. REALLY. she is so cute. i loved her little outfit and hairdo.

  • Why does she not like to perform this one live?

  • If you research your question, you will find the answer. Don Henley has openly commented on this song. I think you will find out why.

  • Stevie wrote a song about her relationships with the people closest to her that speaks from her heart to yours. No words needed. Loves lost, loves that never came to fruition, loves that turned away, loves that will never be. Feel the emotion in this, let the words spin a dream inside your imagination.

  • I'm seeing Stevie in 8 days! I can't wait, her voice and songwriting skills are as timeless today as they were over thirty years ago. She truly is the kind of woman that will haunt you... We Love You Stevie!!

  • Stevie still rules.. No one could ever come close to the talent this lady has. Rock on Sister. :)

  • Wow! I didin't think Stevie did this song anymore. They didn't have it on the set list when I saw them on the SYW Tour. Timeless!

  • i just wish stevie didnt hold so many "reservations" about this song...it is..in my opinon...her best song ever...she must of had a wild hair that nght or something because as far as we knew this song in concert was retired...what a treat...thanks

  • She did it throughout the summer of 2004. It was a treat indeed. You can't really see them here but on the screens behind was videos of the Mac from the 70's and what not. It was amazing.

  • wow wow wow, I did NOT know she did this live in 2004, I last heard that she never ever sings it live again clear back from the original year of release but here it is and no, age is not always generous, I am 51 but I crank sara Live version up full blast and it makes me feel as free as an 18 yr old again...thank you so much

  • This is a beautiful video, thank you Chris!

Could I purchase the whole show on DVD from you?

    Have a super awesome Holiday!~Barbara

  • her voice still gives me chills... I CANT WAIT TO SEE HER LATER TONIGHT!! WOOOOOO <333

  • Stevie is still beautiful and talented. I can't believe she's almost 60!! She still rocks no matter what her age!!!!

  • Love this, too bad it wasn't on the Boston CD

  • OMG! Thank you so much. Like many others, I didnt get to see this live. BUT, those of us who were there on the opening night in (my hometown) Columbus-DID get to see/hear Destiny Rules and an INCREDIBLE version of Running Through the Garden!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! I saw the first leg of the tour before she put this song in the set and was so upset when i missed it on the end of the tour. Thank you! I don't know why she waited so long to take this to the stage - because contrary to what she thought, I think it transfers to the stage VERY well. LOVE the spins at the end!

  • Finally someone upped a full version from 2004+. Been waiting for this a long time. Much appreciated!! Rock on Stevie!
