  • I think I may have to dig up a sub of this. Uchino Masaaki looks like he's channeling Toshiro Mifune, and that can only be a good thing! XD

  • really its from genichiro sanada

  • Compared to Abe Hiroshi in Tenchijin Gackt was a lousy Kenshin. Everything else however was epic.

And now, there won't ever be an official sub. Not only NHK, but all other tv stations never release their dramas with English subs. Why should they? There is no market.

  • @Edohiguma well, to give this credit, kenshin was much younger than the tenchijin version in this, so...

  • This is the best taiga drama i've seen - if you are into tactics and philosophy this is a must-see. Great stories, plots and sub-plots and some great characters in Yamamoto Kansuke, Nagao Kagetora, Sanada Yukitaka and Sessai. Masaaki Uchino and Gackt are the real stand-outs. The old school are well represented by Sonny Chiba and Nakadai Tatsuya. Check it out.

  • Thanks for the teaser. When I saw several episodes of "Fuurin Kazan," for some unknown reason, images of Thai costume movie "Suriyothai" came to my mind. It turns out that Kansuke of "Fuurin Kazan" and Princess Suriyothai are both historical persons who lived around the same time. Earlier episodes of Fuurin Kazan take place in 1530's and 40's while the movie "Suriyothai" takes place around the same time. Kansuke was fighting in Japan while Suriyothai was fighting in Siam at the same time. Wow

  • For the English version, go to D-addicts.

  • The best Taiga Drama ever....so many great performances...wish it wasn't so expensive to purchase...

  • Probably one of the best taiga dramas of all time. Loved every episode!

  • Will they ever sub it?!

  • doubtable... NHK is notorious for not selling English dubbed videos. However, you can get fan dubbed. While I prefer to push official merchandise because it is a way to support artists, sometimes they leave you no choice but to do what you got to do.

  • Visit mysoju. You can see the subtitled one there.

    Enjoy!

  • wow...the video seems all serious while the music in the background is all inspirational and happy. Made me laugh the whole way through. Where can I find this?

  • BEST JAPANESE WAR DRAMA EVER!!!!

They should air this in the U.S.

    Americans would love this!
