Not exactly shredded is it, I would not trust that gimmik. Most paper shredders will crunch up or slice apart a D,d DVD so it is totally and I mean totally wasted....the gimmik on this page well..I bet I could fix it with that polyglass window repaire auto mechs use.
You may be correct. However, I can feel little "bumps" on the opposite side of the DVD, after it's fed through this device, so maybe that's an indication that it's destroyed the substrate?
The DVD CD needs to be sliced or crunched for total security. The disc you have is still whole, still in one piece and with modern tech ability to repair stuff Its no good today unless its totally wrecked. My paper shredder for example renders discs into strips with knurled edges almost impossible to reassemble and redeem any data off and any paper is totally destroyed being turned into fluff. Man you need to get stuff totally destroyed in this day n age.
@depoty bro, the data can be rendered at least partially unreadable with this method. a better way to go is to use a cutting head to scratch around the CD/DVD instead of punching little holes.
The CD is completely unreadable to any normal person, though.
and a crime lab may not be able to recover too much data, as the binary code for certain parts of the CD is corrupted at that point.
