The 2nd Australian Imperial Force was not known as, nor, were they called the ANZACS, you silly boy. They were created on Sept 15 1939 b/c the Defence Act allowed only for service in home territory and were drawn upon the traditions of the Australian force that were exploited so mercilessly by the Poms in WW1.

ANZAC Day was first celebrated in 1916 when the 25th April was first officially named ANZAC Day. This was a full 33 years BEFORE THE 2nd Australian Imperial Force was created.

Before WW2, Before the unsuccessful Korean & Vietnam invasions, before the evil so-called "peace keeping duties" under the evil U.N jurisdiction, before the failing middle eastern oilvasions.

That since 1911 Militia was formed by Citizens in Australia and was a seperate identity to that of the Regular Military and defense force which then only consisted of the Army and Navy. And this history also included when the State were Colonies prior to 1901. That Reserves and Milita Units formed in each Colony of Australia.

the one here in port macquarie could have been better due to flooding rains but it was still amazing to see everyone just standing there as more rain then port had even seen befor fell to see the service out!
