Is this an Arrington engine? I'm looking at a Challenger with a 426 and Magnuson cahrger and I just wonered HONESTLY how streetable they really are, and if they ok for daily drivers? Would love any help and info you'll share.

Very nice car. I love how the Challenger stayed very true to its roots. But out of the 3 i think the mustang is the way to go. Especially a boss 302 for $48,000. American muscle has a vid of a 5.0 with boss intake and everything else is stock. They installed a blower and picked up 200 ponies at the wheels at 6.5 PSI making it a 3400 lbs vehicle with 625 ponies at the wheel. That brings me to a question. Is there a very conservative tune on this? 565 seems EXTREMELY low for a blown stroker.

@WISOMAN69 No it wouldn't. That car is now much heavier, and is still making about the same HP as a Shelby. Plus it was heavier to begin with. The Shelby would tear it to pieces. It could possibly beat the base gt though.

If it's a 426, why does it have 6.1 liter header covers? My mom has a challenger srt8, it's the 6.1 but that's still not in the 400s

@widdlepimplabs It's the original block and he's probably using the original head covers too, but the crank has a longer stroke therefore increasing displacement. I don't know the crank/cylinder combination required to come up with 426, cylinders may need to bored out with larger pistons as well. Whether this one is truly 426 cubic inches I don't know, but the 6.1 head pans don't mean anything.

Did some engine work myself along with all graphics. 426 Stroker with Supercharger and Clutch you're looking at around $16,500. Total package around 64K.

@dr00gling from car owner - I got the stick for old school feel and prefer shifting, however the automatic in the new Challengers is a very good transmission and will probably be as fast as the manual even if driver is experienced, but thats up for debate.

I have to say that I love the car, but me being me, I have to pick it apart. I am very big on Mopar and I have 11 Dodge Cars/Trucks, from the Viper SRT-10, Challenger SRT-8, Charger SRT-8 to the Viper Ram SRT-10 and to tell you the truth, the rims look like a knock off's (cant see the ram head, in the middle). Next on my list, you only got a 7.0L Supercharged SRT to give you 565 RWHP on the Dyno, is that with a 2 PSI? It is only Whipple SC. Get yourself an SMS's (732 RWHP).

@honda12345678 its a carburetor engine man, basically the same as using ari filter but you have no fuel injection and no weird controls that take the joy out of the ride, 350 carburator engines, 440, 426, 572, samples of very powerful old school carburetor engines. ( chevy and Dodge)

@Masch3rano I know they need an air filter, the round ones usually, I didnt see the video completely, so I didnt see the engine, so its basically a newer version of the 426 not the real deal, the old school one, ps. you can supercharge carburetor engines man, its considered a new version of carburetor, remove the old one and install the new supercharged bolt on, dont believe me, there are thousands of carburetor engines running turbos/superchargers. ps. no need to insult man.
