This was one of my favorites, rather funny for a 1935 merrie melodies cartoon. It's cool this was processed on an old mac, I have a 2008 one. It is a very impressive machine.
I have a Gateway 2000 PC from the same year...and it can not record video at all. It does run DOS games very well, and Windows 95. It has a really nice soundblaster 16 but the sound quality im sure does not match the one of an imac.
oh BTW the recording originally was crystal clear but when compressed to sorenson video 3 this happened... mp4 is actually better quality... I am his mom and I helped him ;)
Sure seems like it. They were trying for some spinoffs (two kittens-beans and Little Kitty; two pupw-Ham & Ex-get it?; an owl, Ollie-and..oh--a pig-Porky.Guess who became the big superstar.)
Right, Porky became the superstar, but first Beans the cat was the star and Porky was his sidekick. Porky ended up being more popular, so they stopped using Beans.
Beans even got starring billing in the first official [meaning extreme screen time!] Porky short, and the first Tex Avery short, "Gold Diggers of '49"! But as Leonard Maltin once said..."No one today manufactured drinking glasses..with beans pciture on them".
BTW that mouse's theme is quite catchy. the granny mouse's theme at 2:00 is the old song "Strawberry Jam".
Originally released in July 1935 {this is a 1951 "Blue Ribbon" reissue} in "two-strip" Technicolor [Walt Disney had the exclusive rights to use full "three-strip" Technicolor in his cartoons until the end of 1935]; directed by Friz Freleng, with another great music score by Norman Spencer, and animation credited to Don Williams and Jack Carr.
Love it! That's when there was great respect for seniors! :)

The mouse's Ganny's a one mouse wood indsutry. Only thing missing is toothpicks. This is the oldest cartoon
to have the BLUE RIBBON reissue print, and it wasn't till 1953.

it would be better to convert into digital by way of pass-thru via firewire and then cleanit up a bit. looks kinda ruff. Just my opinion. thanks.
