This, like most of the Pod album, is completely unique. Comparisons to other bands at the time are obviously hard to avoid but for fucks sake, listen to the whole album, even just once, and hopefully you'll realise that it stands apart.

This reminds me of "You know you're right" by Nirvana. I'm not saying it sounds like it, but it reminds me of it. Just how the bass is at the beginning, it's the same as how it is in NIrvana. Of course, this song was recorded way before Nirvana recorded theirs.

Pod...amazing. The percussion in Doe is so sick. And I love Tanya's backing vocals on Doe and Fortunately Gone. The second Breeders album was allegedly going to be written entirely by Tanya. Regardless, Last Splash and Star remain some of the most highly respected rock albums of the 90s (although I think King is a much better Belly album).

awesome song.... check out the aids benefit cd from the mid nineties, called no alternative... iris is on it. MTV did a show for it, and they performed it live. it also included a great smashing pumpkins performance of the song glynis, as well. if i can find it, i'll post it!

I know the drummer from Luscious jackson and josipine from the breeders were living together for a year or so in NY, a friend of mine lived down stares from them and went to a few partys at there apartment said they both are great and the rest of Jackson and Beastie boys were in and out of the place all the time.
