you can on a macbook and imacs im not sure about mac minis tho. there is a symbol of a circle and two triangles pointing inwards. thats where u plug the mic in.
Audacity has an option to choose the "default input" from the computer from which it records audio. Whenever one records audio, even if something is plugged into the mic jack, the computer automatically records from the internal mic. I was just posting this to let other viewers know that this technique that you describe, while it does work for what you are doing, will not work for Audacity. Sorry for the confusion.
Hey, thanks for asking. I'm not quite sure what the problem ur having is. Is it a recorded video from a camera or a screen capture or from iSight? If u could give me some more info then I could prolly help u. My first guess is that u'll have to record it again :( I'll do my best to help u tho :P

how do u plug in a mic for mac?
billstir999 3 years ago
This does not work for Audacity, if you are trying a line-in cable loop. In other words, clicking line in will have no effect with it.

? this is for the actual computer and not individual programs, i dunno what u mean.
