  • lol is anyone else having trouble keeping the 8's on the thumb goin while they pick the rest.....? this single tune is giving me more problems than any other before it.

Brilliant songwriter/guitarist tho. (lindsey not me :)

  • This is probably a martin. most likely d-28

  • @gkbhai You're right it's a Martin. It's actually in the Sept/Oct issue of Guitar Aficionado. 1969 D-18. So now I finally know :D

  • @tsfmnlb :)

  • @tsfmnlb Do you know the story on this guitar did Lindsey get it used ?

  • @12Radius According to Guitar Aficionado article: LB bought it when he was 18 or 19 ( '67 or '68 ) at Guitars Unlimited in Menlo Park, CA. He said he used to see Jerry Garcia in there all the time, pre- Grateful Dead : ) It also says that he's used it for performances and recordings throughout his career, but it doesn't give more details. LB: "...I picked up this guitar and just held onto ot all this time."

  • @tsfmnlb Thank you very much for the info. so cool that sound and playing . as you can see I fingerpicking a little. and the Jerry Garcia story

wow one of the best in my book! THANKS !!

  • Capo?

  • musical orgasm

  • rite firstly ur amazing and well chuffed i stumbled upon this, ive been non stop at it for a couple of days and more or less have it mastered, apart from 1 section the bit that plays between 0.49 and 0.56 i cant seem to suss it out any chance of a slowed down video of that bit so i can play this all together, thanks man

  • I can't even pat my head and rub my tummy at the same time.

  • ALRIGHT MEN: It's time to take back the name Lindsey and make it right to be a guys name again. This is badass as you can get. Goes double for Leslie. From Leslie Nielsen.

  • Him and his fingers are fucking genius!

  • It seems all the best tunes are based in folk and blues

  • I gotta say, what a nice guy to sit down and show how he plays the song. the guy is a great guitar player and song writer. I never realized how good he is untill recently

  • My fingers hurt just looking at that!

  • Thank God Lindsey was genetically gifted with those long slim fingers & thumbs; loved watching him do this little tutorial for all those who wish to play as well as he does. Only thing better is when he sings the song as well. Doesn't hurt that he's so damned easy on the eyes!!! Luv from Canada xoxo

  • Wow. I can't play guitar myself but I recognise skills. This is grand.

  • Great stuff Lindsey!!! But then you already knew that!! :-D

  • wich tunning does he have in this vid?

please answer me the fastest you can, i'm giving a concert on 4th june and i want use that tone on this music ^^

  • @jofo442 ...Standard tuning

  • @jofo442 How do you not know that if you're playing concerts?

  • @gredangeo first time on concert... i'm kinda newbie...

  • How the hell he does not have blisters all over his fingers is amazing for never using a pick. He is Awesome !

  • thats not a taylor guitar, looks like a martin D18

  • bloody fantastic. great work and a great acoustic song too. :) watching lidsay sing and play this live is awesome. A1 cover.

  • Anyone know what chord He's strumming at 1:15?

  • @Anonymous1226

    looks like an e-minor.

  • Anyone know what chord He's strumming at 1:15

  • Think i'll just put my guitar on ebay after watching this.....

  • As I mentioned in a previous post, Best guitar player of his generation .

  • You need to tidy up that transition to the F in the chorus Mr Buckingham.

    B+ Could do better...

  • @retrobiff7 smug fuck....how many cool tunes you written..?

  • @pmay222

At the risk of sounding yet more smug, you'd be surprised my good man! Please note that I'm aware Lyndsey Buckingham is a songwriting/guitar playing legend and that I was being heavily ironic with that comment. I now realise that in order to avoid confusion and properly convey the jocular nature of said comment, I should have perhaps used one of these at the end: ; - )

  • @retrobiff7 aw i get ya now...... it did sound like one of those comments that clever know alls post though.....

    big love to ya...!

  • Damn! I wish I could play like Lindsey

  • Wow, don't ya love You Tube. Getting free guitar lessons from Lindsey Buckingham!

  • I get blisters after a cuple songs picking. I don't know how this guy does this.

  • That last bit he plays slowly is where I always get stuck! Must give it a go later.

  • @wungabunga haha! nailed. Up yours Buckingham. shit I'm replying to myself...

  • i want to hear lindsey do a song with heart :D amazing guitarrist

  • me lindsey and nancy wilson all have the same guitar lol xD

  • @TheStickynoodle Wow - u must be as good as him! LOL

  • @DocBrewster I think he meant the group Heart : )

  • @DocBrewster lol XD i wish

  • He's an amazing guitarrist and this song is totally mind blowing!!!!

  • sounds so spanish acoustic

  • holy shit! nice

  • which kind of guitar and strigs are there here?

  • @phenixreturns I'm pretty sure it's a Taylor, though he usually uses a Gibson Chet Atkins for live performances ( concerts! ). Check his website for info on strings : )

  • @bLiTzMaN420 relax buddy, I said I thought it was a taylor, not that I was certain. geez...

  • @tsfmnlb I think you'll probably find it's a Martin. Taylor's generally have a distinctive shape tortoiseshell scratch plate, and a scalloped head.

  • @bLiTzMaN420 my aunt has a 12 string martin guitar

  • @phenixreturns Looks like a Martin D28

  • @thumbfacenot I posted the link above, in the description ( beneath the video ).

  • NO CAPO ON THE 4TH FRET!? This is how I want to leran this tune. Lindsey Rocks!

  • @shelfy1973 Yep, he IS agenius, and yep, I have NGBA. I'll try to get it up this week!

    -Tee

  • anyone know what tuning this is?

  • Is this song in a tuning other than standard? I'm having difficulty trying to emulate the part around the 0.50 mark, when I do it it sounds like a C Major, though his sound is slightly different, and I understand he is playing it quickly, if someone could help me out with some chord shapes around this part that would be brill, or some idea what the notes are, I could get there.

  • Try to capo the 4th fret and play open. Lindsay has been seen doing this in concert.

  • i bet he like bluegrass

  • ha i wish i could play like that

  • Me too! But I don't play guitar at all, so you stand a lot better chance ( LOL )!! I'd love to hear it when you get it figured out : )

  • hey man where'd you get this? I've been looking for it everywhere.can you buy it?

  • This came on a disc with the Holiday 2008 issue of Guitar World. I bought it on eBay last summer. You can probably still find one there ( Tony Iommi on the cover ). Just make sure the issue is complete and includes the CD...

( It also includes "Landslide" and "Time Precious Time" ).

  • Also, I can put this on mediafire for anyone who wants it ( PM me ), but it would be split into individual songs as the whole thing would probably be over the file size limit. I also have "Never Going Back Again" and "World Turning.

  • does it have all the big love song in slow time?

  • No. Just the first part... about the 00:42 mark on this clip.

  • does the dvd have all the parts slowed down?... if so i will try to find it and buy it?

  • No, the DVD only has the first part of Big Love slowed down...which would be from the beginning, to about the 00:42 second mark on the video, above.
