I I could not care less what Mormons, Muslims, Jews and Christians personally believe, as long as they do not try to write their beliefs into oppressive laws, such as Proposition 8 in California, or try to write them into course curricula, such as the nonsense of teaching creationism. They can believe whatever they want to believe, as long as they do not try to impose their beliefs on others and deprive others of their rights to live freely and think freely.
@RCSVirginia The laws of marriage are not being imposed by Christians; the laws of marriage have always been a man and woman as was God's design. It is the world that is trying to impose on the standard with which God has set forth.
So schools are oppressed in theaching creationism as stated by God, but they are allowed to preach the THEORY of evolution as stated (and debated) by man? Why not teach both? You mentioned living & thinking freely, yet you're ok with this oppression?
For a film about Mormon missionaries, take a look at "Latter Days,' and for a movie about Christian viewpoints, look at "For The Bible Tells Me So." Both movies can be found at TLA Video, Deep Discount DVD and Amazon on-line.
@dlindsey102 Whereas you, on the other hand, are a paragon of patience, love and tolerance. Anyone can tell that from your four-letter-word vocabulary. Adieu, Lump.
@dlindsey102 Dude, I'm not a Mormon. You, on the other hand, are ignorant: You listen to others spread lies and half-truths about them, and accept them without question. I know lots of Mormons, and none are how you describe them. Try learning something about them from them, instead of parroting lies you heard from your pulpit last Sunday.
If Jesus is the same person as god the father, then this is the corrected version of Matthew 26:39: "And he (Jesus) went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Self, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as I will." Or how about John 14:28? "If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto Me: for I am greater than Me."
@raspberrymuffin That may be, but it doesn't stray from the fact that agnostics are just atheists without balls. Why don't you try thinking of an opinion for yourself, and sticking to it with conviction? Riding the fence just makes you a coward.
I'm agnostic because I feel that it's likely there are many things we can't know, at least right now. I've openly said I lean atheist, but can't say for sure because a god could indeed exist that we can't detect, and I don't KNOW whether a god does or does not exist. Therefore, I'm agnostic. Agnosticism is not a coward's way out, that's propaganda that some atheists have started, which is ironic since atheists are supposed to hate Christian propaganda.
@raspberrymuffin I hate all groups that act the same. I'm an atheist, but I'm mostly ashamed of the atheist community. It seems as though atheists just want to sit around and hate Christians for what they believe, which is exactly what Christians do to atheists. I want none of it. I hate all stupid people, whether they're religious, not, or on the fence.
I dislike part of all groups too. I've found many Christians & atheists obnoxious, & a segment of agnostics who are developing arrogance. I identify as agnostic because I can't prove there is without doubt a god or no god. I lean towards atheist, but I can't prove one way or the other and see no proof for one way or the other, so I identify as generally agnostic. Just like politically I'm independent, but feel like I relate to libertarians most, just not 100%
@raspberrymuffin Libertarian, yuck. I'm a Democratic Socialist, so we'll just have to disagree about that because that's just a matter of personal opinion.
@raspberrymuffin By saying that you just don't know, isn't a viable response. Well, there COULD be a Neptune, but how do I know for a fact? Well, I've read up on the subject and thought about what I've read and made an educated opinion for myself. Even though I've never seen it, and I personally can't prove that the planet exists, I still am able to make an informed decision as to what I believe. Quit taking the coward's way out.
For political beliefs, yes that's a matter of opinion, & we all have differing opinions. As for Neptune, maybe, but it's highly unlikely. Just like there could be a god, but it's highly unlikely. You see it as the "coward's way out"...I just see it as if it's not proven of disproved, I'll disbelieve or say "maybe, maybe not". There could be an afterlife, ghosts, etc..., & though I think likely not, I could be wrong. Science may give definite answers one day.
Also to add, just because you're a liberal socialist, doesn't mean I'm going to harass you either (not saying I thought you did think it). Some people, especially neoconservatives, seem ready to vilify anyone who isn't socially Christian theocratic and fiscally anarcho-capitalist. I mention it because those kinds annoy the hell out of me, and even though I lean libertarian, I don't want to seem vilifying of anyone who identifies as "socialist."
@raspberrymuffin "This is why I'm generally agnostic. NOBODY knows, whether Christian, Hindu, atheist, Jewish, Muslim, etc..."
It's a matter of perspective and definition: Gnostic/Agnostic defines what one knows; Theist/Atheist pertains to what one believes. An Agnostic Atheist, e.g., is someone who does not know if there is a god(s), but believes that there is none. An Agnostic Theist is one who does not know, but believes.
These Mormons not quite understanding the Bible means that they are only still sane. Its the people who pretend to fully understand and obey it completely that you have to worry about. These guys are just too indoctrinated to accept the fallacy in the idea that the bible is flawed but the book of mormon is perfect...
According to a prominent, Mormon, FAIRblog contributor man can, indeed, intelligently, honestly and reasonably conclude from the evidence that “manifestations by the Holy Ghost” and other varieties of religious experience are NOT really of divine origin; that God is NOT as Mormons & Christianity believe him to be; and the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Book of Abraham are NOT of divine origin or literal history. And, of course, he's correct and they'd be correct
I'm a convert to the LDS church and it all has to do with how you interpret the scriptures and what latter-day revelation we have received to clarify things, etc. I know there are many things written and said about Mormons that are taken out of context, distorted, and just plain false. I read all this stuff over 30 years ago when I was first investigating the church! Also, remember that Mormons are not perfect, either. We do NOT know all the answers. Nobody does.
@cindybin2001 yet you claim to know the right god to worship. and you write in your little packet that all other religions are wrong. and oyu send out people door to door to gain converts. if you do not have all the answers, why do you risk the eternal souls of other people?
@avalsonline2 Now see, you are twisting and distoring things. Go talk to missionaries or visit official LDS web sites. It will explain about the "other religions are wrong" stuff, etc. Also, read A Marvelous Work and a Wonder, by LeGrand Richards. That book helped me when I was first investigating the church. It addresses the things you mentioned.
@cindybin2001 I have the packet right in front of me, given to me by the local Mormon church. aaand I QUOTE: Jesus told Joseph not to join any of the churches for "they were all wrong" ...(Joseph Smith - History 1:19).
@avalsonline2 That's true! And isn't it nice that we know that they were wrong! Of course it's good to believe in Jesus Christ and the Bible. But what this is talking about is that these churches don't have the fulness of the gospel, the correct doctrines, the Priesthood, etc. The LDS church will bring you CLOSER to Jesus Christ and the Bible than any other church.
@cindybin2001 and frankly I find Mormon logic to be flimsy at best. Alma 32 defines faith as" a hope in that which is not seen which is true. How do you know that it is true? because it feels good, becuse it gives oyu a feeling of completenenss and happiness. once again, not twisting anything, just going by the book of mormon. If this is your standard for knowing truth, i am surprised you people manage to tie your shoes every morning. this is idiotic.
@avalsonline2 Yes, it is a hope in that which is not seen but which is true. It's hard to explain. We have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow morning, even though we can't see it now. But we know it will happen. It's just something inside of you. You have to work and develop your own testimony as to the truthfulness of the Gospel.
@cindybin2001 NO. you dont need any faith for the sun. we have seen the sun come up every morning. we know why it "comes up". we know the science behind it. and unless the galaxy goes through a major cataclysm, it will come up again. you christians use the word faith too damn liberally.
@cindybin2001 if oyu need faith on whether the sun will come up tomorow, you are too far gone. whatever inteligence oyu once had is long gone. i pity you
@cindybin2001 you dont get it ,do you? if the churches were wrong. joseph smith could have taught straight out of the bible. but he went on to write a whole new book. he invented a different brand of christianity. the bible says it is the complete and true word of god. no suplements needed. joseph here added his own book to the mix. you know what that makes him? drumroll please!!!! a FALCE PROPHET! or have you not read that part of the bible?
@avalsonline2 Yes I've read that part of the Bible. And you're not telling me anything I haven't heard a million times online or read 30 years ago when I was first investigating the church. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and it along with other scriptures and latter-day revelation helps shed light on the more difficult-to-understand passages in the Bible. It really does help make sense of it all.
@cindybin2001 soooo, it is an addition to the bible 1800 years after it was put together. YET the original bible says it is the complete word. maybe you have read the passage, but you readily dismiss it. why? because your warped mind cannot accept any information that is contradictory to what oyu already have. and i am wasting my time talking to a man without logic. have a nice life.
@cindybin2001 I remember that book! And what a dynamic man, LeGrand Richards! I saw him at one of the LDS biannual conferences in 1978. He had an oxygen tank, but he spoke with enthusiasm and conviction.
Having said that, I fear I have to dispute one item in his book: he said that a high Roman Catholic official once told him that it's either the Mormons or the Catholics who have the authority. But he neglected the third possibility: that neither of them has it.
Let's face it, the bible is pretty much an incoherent book. That's why you have so many disagreements over the meaning of this passage and that passage. Most christians aren't bible scholars, so they have a simplified basic version that they believe. Personally I feel sorry for these two young guys, they are hardly LDS authorities.
For those who don't know, the bible has more statements attesting that Jesus and the Father are NOT the same beings. It also has statements that contradict these. How to choose? Most Christians today take the word of the majority of bishops that met at the Council of Nicea, over 1600 years ago. Kinda sad that god can't let us all know for sure.
@TheTrollyoufear Jesus' baptism: all three (father, son, H.G.) are depicted as separate. Also, reread the gospels: Jesus, not the father, will judge mankind; Jesus said his father was greater than he; Jesus told Mary Magdalene that he was ascending to his father. Jesus said that the H.G. was different (sins against it will not be forgiven, et. al.) Also, Peter or Paul states that believers will be "heirs of god and joint-heirs with Christ."
@Xenophile665 You're wrong. I'M the one who will judge mankind. Not my kid. Don't act as if you know me and my ways, my child. As far as the gospels go, I told those guys what to say exactly, but they just put in whatever THEY chose to. So, take them with a grain of salt (or a pillar of salt, eh? Me, am I funny.). At any rate, I'll thank you to leave the preaching on Youtube to me. Let's give the people the message straight from the source, right? I love you. Sincerely, God
@Xenophile665 A lunatic am I? "And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you" -Me in Ezekiel 25:17. Also, enough with the German. I only speak the Lord's tongue, which is English. Those heathen languages don't appeal to me. My son Jesus was a coward, just like yourself.
@Xenophile665 Since I am the Lord, your Father, and I created you, I'm sorry that I didn't give you very much intelligence. That was my mistake. I responded to you with passages, reason, and facts. All that your tiny mind could come back at me with is "troll". I pity you for not being able to keep up with God in a conversation. You should feel completely inferior in every way. Like most people that follow my son and me, you lack in brain power. Why do I always attract the idiots?
@Xenophile665 Anyone who thinks he's God is insane? I agree. That Jesus was a freaking lunatic. For I am the one and only TRUE God. I am He who is called "I Am". Since you're stupid, my child, I will spell something out for you. I typed this to you two messages ago: "'And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you' -Me in Ezekiel 25:17", that is called a passage. So, when you said that I gave you "no passages", you were wrong yet again. Please use your brain.
@Xenophile665 "Insane in·sane/inˈsān/ Adjective: In a state of mind that prevents normal perception, behavior, or social interaction; seriously mentally ill."
My behavior, social interaction and perception are perfectly fine. So, as you stated, I'm not "by definition" insane. I may be insane by your warped interpretation of words. But, I'm not insane according to the dictionary. You're the one who is insane due to your antisocial, psychotic behavior.
@MrGodTheFather You claimed to be god. I've read your book. If you aren't god, you're deluded, i.e., insane. If you are god, then you could teach me quite a bit about being "antisocial, psychotic." Toodle-oo Charlie.
@Xenophile665 Also, anyone who is so stupid as to not know that they are getting trolled really needs some serious help. It was kind of fun at first to get a rise out of you, but now I'm just worried that I was messing with someone who truly is an idiot and may not be very stable. I will not be having any more interactions with you. I honestly think you may have some sort of retardation or mental defect. If I had known this from the start, I wouldn't have spoken to you.
@MrGodTheFather I'M not very stable? This, from the troll, likely living in his mother's basement. I was relatively certain that you were a troll, but gave you the benefit of the doubt (a flaw in my character, apparently). If you wish to discuss what you actually think, be my guest. Otherwise, adios.
At the heart of this argument is a persistent confusion in christianity. There is not enough space to go in to this matter in-depth. Suffice to say there are 10 Commandments, eternal, irrevocable. In Luke 18:19 it says 'Jesus said to him "Why do you call me good? No one is good except One-God.."' So there is 1 God, not 3. Christ always points out that God is the greatest. He also points out blaspheming the Holy Spirit is worse than blaspheming against himself or God. These entities are distinct.
@STRYPEROCKS777 Gen.1 We/Us thing has naught to do with any kind of trinity. YHWH/El is 1 God and you reject the 10 Commandments when you go down that slippery slope. Of course I agree with you that Christ was not of this world and born of a virgin therefore he wasn't entirely human in his genetic make-up although he appeared to be. @ Golgotha he appeared dead but he was technically only clinically dead. That body was rebuilt in 3 days/nights. Atonement through Lev.17:11.See Ez.37:26-8,Rev.11:19
@STRYPEROCKS777 I thoroughly beg to differ on the bible is all you need doctrine. Of course I respect those of other faiths who think that. Many have their unique theologies which LDS lacks and make up a bigger picture. But if you know&believe a bible then you believe in Israel, christianity&Islam (Genesis,Ezekiel, etc). They are written in eternal covenants (Mark c.12etc).Nowhere does Christ say "I am the Holy Spirit" or "I am God". He states he speaks@ times directly for God who sends Spirit, etc
@nickmansfield1 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book. Rev 22:18-19
@TheTrollyoufear The Book Of Revelation is attributed to John. John did not write the Vulgate. The Vulgate was the first bible. It is quite different to King James or even modern RC bible. There is a theoretically perfect form of biblical scripture with the 7 code throughout. No traditional bible has it.
@TheTrollyoufear From what I've read, the "accepted view" among biblical historians is that it refers to the book of Rev. itself, because the bible, at that time, did not exist. Some of the New Testament hadn't even been written.
Also, by your logic, no one should have added anything to the bible after Deuteronomy. See Deut. chapter 4, verse 2.
@Xenophile665 learn to read then. Look, you are a member of a cult. I'm too busy atm to talk to you, but I think that God decides what is put in the bible, not some murderer who started a cult.
@TheTrollyoufear "Member of a cult?" No, I'm not a Mormon, if that's what you meant. If you are a Christian, then your "cult" is just as valid (or invalid) as the LDS "cult."
You "think that God decides what is put in the bible." Why? It was written by men, not god.
If you're "too busy to talk" to me, then it seems odd that you would respond to me at all: Your actions belie your words.
As to your first sentence, I already know how to read; perhaps you should learn how to reason.
@TheTrollyoufear then you observe the 7th day? You know the 7th day? You observe all Mosaic Law? This is what Christ advocated but the Temple sacrifices were put on hold.
@nickmansfield1 Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Prov 30 5-6
@STRYPEROCKS777 so why can Christ do nothing without God if he is in fact God? Why did Christ have the Divine Spirit with him much of the time but not in the period just before he surrendered his soul @ Golgotha? It must be they are 3 entities unified in purpose but not in being. Christ talks about departing from God's presence (John 7:28) to be born to a human woman. Who is twisting what scripture?
A real bad audio on an interesting topic. Mormon boys defend Christ's doctrine. Hosts promote a badly misguided creed adopted hundreds of years after Christ's ministry. Mormons are young missionaries and do okay but not outstandingly.Hosts are barely audible.Sad how people here adopt parts of bibles to suit them.YHWH fulfills His promises. There is 1 God-YHWH. There is the Son Of Man/God who is the inheritor. There is the Divine Spirit. She brings guidance and peace by God's will.Unifiedinpurpose.
@STRYPEROCKS777 Actually brother, dont tell me you believe the rapture lie?
It says the bad will be taken away,,just like the flood. I got a video for you.
The rapture is another lie of the devil. The bible says clearly the opposite. If you put the word of God first then you will see,,,trust me on this one. ill send video.
Fun fact: the OT (old testament of the bible), in the original language uses the word gods instead of god in most passages and where "God" is talking "he" says we and seems to communicate with other gods.... Food for thought.
Actually LDS believe in a "Social Trinity". Three personages in one Godhead. The Bible also states that Jesus wished his followers can be one as he and the Father are one. John 17:22 " I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one." That only works with a social trinitarian view.
These missionaries used to come by my house all the time take over my computer to write girls they liked in our ward and watch movies and drink soda. I use to let them. Good thing I am no longer a mormon cause boy admitting that would have gotten me into big trouble with the church.
The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God.
“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” (Isaiah 43:10)
Wow…I feel so sad for those whose god is nothing more than a little man.
Joseph Smith declared, "God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man,....If you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form-like yourselves in all the person, image, and very form as a man…”
The God of the Bible and Christians was never a man that became god, but has always and always will be God, "..even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” (Psalms 90:2)
@kjvjay It never ceases to amaze me how many pity the Mormons for believing in a book that isn't all that different from the book they believe in (at least when it comes to supernatural occurrences). Would folks rather have a "god who is nothing more than a little man," or one who is invisible? Food for thought.

wow...i feel so sad sometimes for those who believe in trinity. The word "trinity" have not mentioned a single time in the bible. It is just a man mad theory. read the bible and u will find the answer. sorry.
@Tommygboy Your right the WORD trinity is not in the Bible. Likewise the theory of a man becoming a God is not in the Bible either. Oh unless you have some allegorized verses to enlighten us with. Copy and paste copy and paste.
@Tommygboy -- right , right ... so where does it say that Jesus and Satan were brothers ?? OR that once you die and go to heaven everyone will be gods and rule over their won planets ... The Bible is the only true book !!!
@disengagejam Or you are married for eternity and get to be screwed for eternity by your husband whether you want to or not and raise children for eternity. Thank God I'm not a Mormon.
@Tommygboy slightly patronising mate! True, the term 'trinity' is most definitely man-made. No Christian has, or will dispute that. Trinity is a concept. I take it you're a mormon? If so, there are several things not mentioned in the bible (particularly the New Testament) that mormons adhere to.
@Louie1984 Lol. wow whatever u said. I am not Mormon …. But it’s the truth. By far Trinity is the most foolish thing in Christianity… I rather be Muslim or atheist sometimes, but I can’t denounce his existence.
In as far as the trinity is concerned, I don’t understand how Christ could do that which he saw the Father do without first being a separate individual (John 5:19). Also (John5:23): how did Christ send himself. In Acts, Stephen looked up into heaven full of the Holy Ghost and saw Christ on the Right hand of the Father. I count 3 individuals there! Please explain. Thanks.
I'm not a Christian, but I can answer your question.
The Trinity doesn't teach that God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit all have the same body, it simply teaches that they are all the same people.
In other words, it's one God in three different forms.
Similar to how water can be in three different forms (liquid, ice, and steam), God is manifested in three different forms, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
The Hebrew word echad, means unity. God is a unity, God the Father, God as Yeshua, the word made flesh savior of the world, and God the Holy Spirit. These occultists have no cue, THERE IS ONE GOD, THREE MEMBERS OF THE GODHEAD! I am a Jew, and I am a Trinitarian!
Joseph smith did nothing for anyone except enrich himself, and sleep with loads of Mormon whores. He started a religion with a weak minded bunch of cowards who believed that indians are jews, niggers are cursed, and God is having constant sex with thousands of whores on Kobol. "And that is where Babies come from, little girl." Mormons are the most laughably gullible cowards on the face of the earth.
If the LDS Church is true adn the Bible is corrupt, why don't they have their prophet correct it? I mean the send these minnows with KJV Bibles. It must not that be a big deal then right and the Bible is as good as it is...can't have it both ways. Seems obvious the LDS Church has "Prophets" "Seers" and "Revealators" than cannot do any of those things.
@Gideon6640man I think you got this exactly right. There haven't actually been any new revelations since the very early Mormon prophets, other than accepting blacks into their idea of the priesthood, and doing away with the practice of polygamy (but not the belief ironically), which were both politically motivated. Other than those things, the teachings of their prophets has been the same and no new doctirine has been added to their teachings.
John 1:24 It ment God has promised his spirit. and they who worship him, worship in spirit and in truth. That spirit is the Holy Ghost. (part of the Godhead) It dose not have a body or esle it can not dwel in us.( which is why it said "God is a spirit")God has a body our else the Holy Ghost can not dwel in him. God created us from his own image witch means he has a body. (Gen1:26) notice the word "US" (The Godhead) READ Below
@loops300 LOL realy? G-d has a body because he created us in his image? lol where did you learn that ? So are you also saying that G-d has an arm,eye,nostrils,etc....? if so then he must be a gian chicken Psalms 91:4.
No I am afraid your "schooling" in the LDS Church has only made you look very foolish...
@Gideon6640man Realy. Read Gen 1:26 , notice the word US( the God Head) What other image dose God have other than a (body) man (bones and all). by the way your getting form info by a teenager. Look at davidlory vids. He may know a lot more than I.
@loops300 Not even close...The Three were all spirit at that time Christ did not take a physical body yet. You LDS and JW's Moonies, Warren Jeffs(a real LDS btw)make the same
bilbical blunders.davidlory vids? if he expouses the same thing you do he is just as corrupt,. Name me ONE LDS or anyother cultist that have LEGIT Greek Hebrew Scholars, tha can translate, that would dare publish a Doctrinal Thesis on the Bible from an LDS point of view...not even theJeseus Seminar guys would do that.
@loops300 You can't answer me Psalms 91:4 painitng yourself into a corner. Following your "logic" G-d has to at least be part bird. The G-dhead is the Trinity not Elohim and his two sons Jesus and Satan sitting at the council of the gods..you believe that? Three persons ONE G-d. I can bet what you will say next..lol Hebrews 1:3 "tes charakter ,hupastusious kai apogasma tes doxen" the Son is the same SUBSTANCE as the Father and as far as the Holy Spirit no ever doubted that hence Gen 1:26
@Gideon6640man There comparing him to a mother hen that protects her chicks from harm and gives them confort.. it does not mean that he is a women it means that they may have the armor of God. Eph 6:11. Its good that you know Hebrew and all but not everyone can. If you expect that everyone has to know Hebrew to understand the Bible than no one would understand it.
@loops300 Yes I know Hebrew since I have Rabbis in my family but anyone can obtain either a Greek/ Hebrew interlinear Bibles and Lexicons, Strongs Concordnace,Vines or Kittles words of the NT, etc... and one can refute the cults in their way of twisting scripture. But most people are lazy to do so, so these cults flourish. There is no excuse for the Christian Church to run and hide.We are to "Contend earnestly for the faith" Jude 1:3. It's not difficult but people prefer dancing with the stars.
@Gideon6640man Which Christian Church? Doesn’t every Christian church have their own interpretation of the Bible? If not, they should all be one true church. Which one do you go to?
@loops300 Very Legit Question...The Christian Church is not a denomination but the body of believers is united on the G-d the Father ,Son and Holy Spirit, The Trinity , The Insperation of Scripture of the OT and NT, The Ressurection(The Gospel), the Atonement, the Return of Christ..these are not negotiable...the rest yes. Hope that answers your question. If I may add some people like old style worship, some contemporary, I like Messianic Praise but we are ALL brothers and sisters in Yeshua(Christ)
@Gideon6640man Then why does each teach it differently. Would you leave your church to go to another Christian Church? Even thou they teach Jesus Christ were Black. Even thou they may baptize you differently. Even pray differently. Even if they have their own version of the Bible. Are there teachings not true to you? They may be the same religion but which church is Correct? Is it yours? Or is it theirs? Do I pick them out of a hat? Does it matter? One says yes while the other says no.
@loops300 Ok the only "differences" that would matter would be on the central non negotiable truths that I mentioned did not agree on every thing they taught but on the essentila we are in agreemnt and that is ok it keeps the faith alive and discussed and we learn from eah other. I think that you been taught you have to accept everything top to bottom in your church. Here is a quote that hots the nail on the head "In Essentials Unity,In non Essentials Liberty and in All things Charity.Agape Love
@Gideon6640man Then may I ask that you would read The Book Of Mormon and ask only God If this book is it's not true. The joy of knowlege can be great . If you have any question of it. I am more than happy to anserwer it. But I do ask you to read the whole book.
@loops300 Which church? the one that teaches the Biblical Yeshua(Jesus). What realy get's me angry is the most church going people never take the time to reach people in the cults because they don't care about the poor souls caught in them and the church will have answer to G-d one day on this...I LOVE LDS,JW's etc...and want to reach them with the real Gospel of Christ...Thing is I do not need to do this to get saved(Romans)done already and am secure in it, I do this because I am saved(James).
@Gideon6640man Thats if you have the right scriptures. King James right? Josph Simth. Say what you will about him. But this is how he found out. As he was reading the Epistle of James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" Who better than to ask God himself? I say its better than a Pastor right. Why else would we pray to God for, other than blessings.
Here is a tip for REAL Bible study. Bible, Strongs Concordance, Vines Expository Words. Greek and Hebrew Interlinears. Get into a Bible teaching Church, talk to the Pastor. Become a good Berean(Acts 17 :10-11). Think of it, Paul who penned most of the NT who at the time of his martyrdom the Church was around 39% of the population in the areas from Rome to Israel and yet the Bereans said to Paul "ok sit there and we will search the Scriptures to see if you are telling the truth" & he praised them
@loops300 John 1:24? is talking about the Pharisses, sure you got the right refrence? In his image does not in any way argue for G-d having a body...what is the Hebrew phrase "in his image" mean?.If he has a body then we are in his image then do we have wings? if he has an eye,nose,arm...you take a poetic utterance, theophonies etc and make them flesh you are in a heap of trouble not to mention absurd. You assume G-d the Father has a body but he does not .John 4:24 in Greek is "pure spirit".
Do to modern revalation there are 3 sepret beings form the Godhead,(The Father the son and the Holy ghost). Jesus is a god, he created the earth.(ST John 1:3and10) under the direction of the Father (Elohim) (Which we call him God)the one that people pray to. Jesus in the Old Testament was ussally identfied as LORD in caps. In KJV "God created the heaven and the earth"(Gen1:1) It was actually done by the LORD Jesus Christ or as said by Paul (Ephesians3:9)
@loops300 So tell us what kind of edecuation you have in Biblical studies? You learned Greek or Hebrew? are you in a prisethood in your church? RE: LORD in cpas? are you serious??? All three Father,Son & Holy Spirit are in the creation etc....but there is ONLY ONE G-d..you learned this in your Hebrew calss Im sure "shema Y'srael, Adonai Eloheynu, Adonai Echod" Deut 6:4 and both Jews and Chrsitians affirm one G-d.
@loops300 More like to to old heresy dressed up in suits and ties we have the same tired and refuted arguments. I can't get over your "LORD in CAPS" the Bible was written in HEBREW,ARAMAIC and GREEK all in "CAPS" hello so where you get this in CAPS argument to support your position? what does that have to do with anything anyway? who taught you this stuf?? is this what LDS are taught in their churches? what about your temples with all that occultic masonic garbs etc???
Mitt Romney believes he will become a “god” in the next life and be given his own planet to Lord over. He will call his wife, Ann, into it to populate his planet with spirit children. Would you vote for a man who believes he is going to become a REAL GOD AND BE GIVEN HIS OWN PLANET? Or, would you question his judgment in the highest office in the land?
Get The book: “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters? The Mormon Church Versus The Office Of The Presidency of the United States of America”.
trinity is a ridiculous doctrine and was never part of the truth until romans injected their particular strain of paganism into the truth and renamed it as christianity. yahushua never claimed to be god or equal to god but the opposite. he showed on many occasions that he submits to god. read 1st corinthians 15. it shows that he will also submit to god at the end. how can he submit to anyone if he is god and if they are the same what need would he have to submit.

@dawatcha100 See John 8:57-58, which states, “The Jews then said to him [Jesus], ‘You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?’ Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.’”
The Jews, being familiar with the Old Testament, understood Jesus to be stating that he was God. Compare his statement to God’s in Exodus 3:14: “God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’
When do you claim this belief "suddenly popped up"? God bless you.
@cburton103 exactly! He was not merely claiming to be older than Abraham - otherwise, why would the Jews, devout as they were, pick up stones to stone him for blasphemy? It is because Jesus claimed to be God.
Now if he wasn't God he was either insane or evil - but if He was (and is) God then He deserves our worship.
@dawatcha100 because, as it says in philippians 2, he emptied himself and took the form of a servant. The Romans didn't invent it - it is there throughout the New Testament. John 1 talks about it extensively. Hebrews shows that Jesus is above the angels. It's there, as clear as day to anyone who has the faith to accept it.
@Norrington516 yeah he came from god of that there is no question here. what i'm saying is that he was not god and said so himself. it's not a matter of having faith in him because i believe what HE said about himself and not what others have said. in the vision of the heavens he is seen on the right hand of the father and not as the father himself. in revelations he speaks of HIS god. and he prayed to god to take that cup away from him but submitted saying not my will but yours be done.......
@dawatcha100 ....the pharisees wanted to kill him for saying he was the SON of god not god himself. he never made that claim and, if u are willing to seek it, the truth about the ADDED scriptures to support trinity is out there. if he was god then who was the voice from heaven that said "this is my son in whom i am well pleased" at his baptism? messiah means annointed. he was annointed with the holy spirit which descended on him like a dove and he carried out the word of god as DIRECTED.
@dawatcha100 The NT has verses which clearly show Christ and the Father to be equals. John 10:30: "I and the Father are one." "He who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). "All that the Father has is mine" (John 16:15). "The Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath but also called God his Father, making himself equal with God" (John 5:18). Or, "[Jesus], though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be g.asped" (Phil. 2:6).
The Trinity is a confusing concept - that's one way that God keeps himself mysterious, which is a good thing in that, no one can say he's 'figured God out'. It's very difficult to define - it's definitely not three different Gods (tritheism), however neither is it three different ways of viewing a single God (modalism). The best one can say is there are three persons but one God. I know it doesn't work out mathematically but then, God isn't defined by our logic.
@stevejames1012 - obviously Thomas knew. The first thing he says to the resurrected Jesus in John 20:28 is "My Lord and my God!" and does Jesus correct him? Nope not at all. Read the first chapter of John as well. Many spots in the Bible talk about how Jesus is God in flesh. For example, in Acts 20:28, Paul tells overseers " to shepherd the church of God[a] which He purchased with His own blood." He did not say with the blood of his pal Jesus, but with his own blood. Covers 2/3 for now I guess.
@stevejames1012 - what you described there is three separate gods serving in the office of the Godhead. They are not three separate beings. They are one being, one in unity, one in purpose. There are three distinct manners in which God interacts with us: through the figure of a father, a son, and a guide. It's three separate ways of viewing a single God, a single Being.
I have just a couple of questions. Did they know they were being filmed? Are you aware that the word Trinity does not appear ONCE in the Bible? And when the Savior told the Apostles that he was going to his father and his God, that means he's going to himself? I was raised Catholic and even then the whole Trinity concept didn't even make sense. The challenge most people have is that they are too set in their beliefs and they think they can tell God what is true. Stop telling God it's done!
@TheDeyRivera The word 'trinity' may not appear in the Bible however it is very clearly hinted at all throughout the Bible... in Genesis, God says let US make man in our own image... at various times the Angel of the Lord accepts worship and yet when humans try and worship other angels, like John in Revelation, the angel commands them not to worship him. Hebrews makes it clear that Christ is greater than angels. And Christ commands to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
@Norrington516 " in Genesis, God says let US make man in our own image... " And you're using this as evidence of a trinity? 3 beings that are the same god?
I want to make sure that I understand trinity correctly. Please correct me if I'm wrong:
God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are separate beings but one God in purpose. Is that right or not?
@stevejames1012 - not separate beings but distinct persons. When one says separate beings then that would result in having three gods. The fathers of the church defined it as distinct persons that were of one substance (literally "homoousios" - of the same nature or 'stuff ' ) which itself is a limited definition in that God is not made up of matter or 'stuff'. But basically, whatever God the Father IS, so is The Son (Jesus) and The Holy Spirit. Each has a particular task in relation to mankind.
@Norrington516 "The fathers of the church defined it as" Which church?
"But basically, whatever God the Father IS, so is The Son (Jesus) and The Holy Spirit." That sounds very vague and confusing. LDS views follow something similar, except that we are all made of "the same stuff" but are individuals.
It's like DNA, we all have the same materials but are each unique.
How does this definition not make them different beings?
@stevejames1012 - the early church before it split into Eastern and Roman Catholic.
The DNA analogy doesn't really work. It's more than just the fundamental stuff. It's more like... if my dad and I were actually both the same person and yet distinct from each other. It's more than just the same stuff because an individual person has an individual will yet the three persons of the godhead are united in will, in character and in purpose as well as in their divinity and uncreatedness.
RCSVirginia 1 month ago
@RCSVirginia The laws of marriage are not being imposed by Christians; the laws of marriage have always been a man and woman as was God's design. It is the world that is trying to impose on the standard with which God has set forth.
So schools are oppressed in theaching creationism as stated by God, but they are allowed to preach the THEORY of evolution as stated (and debated) by man? Why not teach both? You mentioned living & thinking freely, yet you're ok with this oppression?

If Jesus is the same person as god the father, then this is the corrected version of Matthew 26:39: "And he (Jesus) went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Self, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as I will." Or how about John 14:28? "If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto Me: for I am greater than Me."
Yep, makes perfect sense.

@raspberrymuffin That may be, but it doesn't stray from the fact that agnostics are just atheists without balls. Why don't you try thinking of an opinion for yourself, and sticking to it with conviction? Riding the fence just makes you a coward.
MrGodTheFather 1 month ago
@MrGodTheFather
I'm agnostic because I feel that it's likely there are many things we can't know, at least right now. I've openly said I lean atheist, but can't say for sure because a god could indeed exist that we can't detect, and I don't KNOW whether a god does or does not exist. Therefore, I'm agnostic. Agnosticism is not a coward's way out, that's propaganda that some atheists have started, which is ironic since atheists are supposed to hate Christian propaganda.
raspberrymuffin 1 month ago
@raspberrymuffin I hate all groups that act the same. I'm an atheist, but I'm mostly ashamed of the atheist community. It seems as though atheists just want to sit around and hate Christians for what they believe, which is exactly what Christians do to atheists. I want none of it. I hate all stupid people, whether they're religious, not, or on the fence.
MrGodTheFather 1 month ago
@MrGodTheFather
Just like politically I'm independent, but feel like I relate to libertarians most, just not 100%
raspberrymuffin 1 month ago
@raspberrymuffin Libertarian, yuck. I'm a Democratic Socialist, so we'll just have to disagree about that because that's just a matter of personal opinion.
MrGodTheFather 1 month ago
@raspberrymuffin By saying that you just don't know, isn't a viable response. Well, there COULD be a Neptune, but how do I know for a fact? Well, I've read up on the subject and thought about what I've read and made an educated opinion for myself. Even though I've never seen it, and I personally can't prove that the planet exists, I still am able to make an informed decision as to what I believe. Quit taking the coward's way out.
MrGodTheFather 1 month ago
@MrGodTheFather
Science may give definite answers one day.
raspberrymuffin 1 month ago
@MrGodTheFather

Nobody does.
cindybin2001 2 months ago
@cindybin2001 yet you claim to know the right god to worship. and you write in your little packet that all other religions are wrong. and oyu send out people door to door to gain converts. if you do not have all the answers, why do you risk the eternal souls of other people?
avalsonline2 2 months ago
@avalsonline2 Now see, you are twisting and distoring things. Go talk to missionaries or visit official LDS web sites. It will explain about the "other religions are wrong" stuff, etc. Also, read A Marvelous Work and a Wonder, by LeGrand Richards. That book helped me when I was first investigating the church. It addresses the things you mentioned.
cindybin2001 2 months ago
@cindybin2001 I have the packet right in front of me, given to me by the local Mormon church. aaand I QUOTE: Jesus told Joseph not to join any of the churches for "they were all wrong" ...(Joseph Smith - History 1:19).
avalsonline2 2 months ago
@avalsonline2 That's true! And isn't it nice that we know that they were wrong! Of course it's good to believe in Jesus Christ and the Bible. But what this is talking about is that these churches don't have the fulness of the gospel, the correct doctrines, the Priesthood, etc. The LDS church will bring you CLOSER to Jesus Christ and the Bible than any other church.
cindybin2001 2 months ago
@cindybin2001 and frankly I find Mormon logic to be flimsy at best. Alma 32 defines faith as" a hope in that which is not seen which is true. How do you know that it is true? because it feels good, becuse it gives oyu a feeling of completenenss and happiness. once again, not twisting anything, just going by the book of mormon. If this is your standard for knowing truth, i am surprised you people manage to tie your shoes every morning. this is idiotic.
avalsonline2 2 months ago
@avalsonline2 Yes, it is a hope in that which is not seen but which is true. It's hard to explain. We have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow morning, even though we can't see it now. But we know it will happen. It's just something inside of you. You have to work and develop your own testimony as to the truthfulness of the Gospel.
cindybin2001 2 months ago
@cindybin2001 NO. you dont need any faith for the sun. we have seen the sun come up every morning. we know why it "comes up". we know the science behind it. and unless the galaxy goes through a major cataclysm, it will come up again. you christians use the word faith too damn liberally.

@cindybin2001 you dont get it ,do you? if the churches were wrong. joseph smith could have taught straight out of the bible. but he went on to write a whole new book. he invented a different brand of christianity. the bible says it is the complete and true word of god. no suplements needed. joseph here added his own book to the mix. you know what that makes him? drumroll please!!!! a FALCE PROPHET! or have you not read that part of the bible?
avalsonline2 2 months ago
@avalsonline2 Yes I've read that part of the Bible. And you're not telling me anything I haven't heard a million times online or read 30 years ago when I was first investigating the church. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and it along with other scriptures and latter-day revelation helps shed light on the more difficult-to-understand passages in the Bible. It really does help make sense of it all.
cindybin2001 2 months ago
@cindybin2001 soooo, it is an addition to the bible 1800 years after it was put together. YET the original bible says it is the complete word. maybe you have read the passage, but you readily dismiss it. why? because your warped mind cannot accept any information that is contradictory to what oyu already have. and i am wasting my time talking to a man without logic. have a nice life.
avalsonline2 2 months ago
@cindybin2001 I remember that book! And what a dynamic man, LeGrand Richards! I saw him at one of the LDS biannual conferences in 1978. He had an oxygen tank, but he spoke with enthusiasm and conviction.
Having said that, I fear I have to dispute one item in his book: he said that a high Roman Catholic official once told him that it's either the Mormons or the Catholics who have the authority. But he neglected the third possibility: that neither of them has it.

For those who don't know, the bible has more statements attesting that Jesus and the Father are NOT the same beings. It also has statements that contradict these. How to choose? @TheTrollyoufear Jesus' baptism: all three (father, son, H.G.) are depicted as separate. Also, reread the gospels: Jesus, not the father, will judge mankind; Jesus said his father was greater than he; Jesus told Mary Magdalene that he was ascending to his father. Jesus said that the H.G. was different (sins against it will not be forgiven, et. al.) Also, Peter or Paul states that believers will be "heirs of god and joint-heirs with Christ."

Atonement through Lev.17:11.See Ez.37:26-8,Rev.11:19
nickmansfield1 2 months ago

No traditional bible has it.
nickmansfield1 2 months ago
@TheTrollyoufear "Rev 22:18-19" Foul called: this verse refers to the book of Revelation, NOT to the bible.
Xenophile665 1 month ago
@Xenophile665 That's one interpretation. However the accepted view is that it is in reference to the bible itself.
TheTrollyoufear 1 month ago

Thanks.
BUZZ4134 3 months ago
@BUZZ4134,
I'm not a Christian, but I can answer your question.

Other than those things, the teachings of their prophets has been the same and no new doctirine has been added to their teachings.

loops300 4 months ago
@loops300 Very Legit Question...The Christian Church is not a denomination but the body of believers is united on the G-d the Father ,Son and Holy Spirit, The Trinity , The Insperation of Scripture of the OT and NT, The Ressurection(The Gospel), the Atonement, the Return of Christ..these are not negotiable...the rest yes. Hope that answers your question. If I may add some people like old style worship, some contemporary, I like Messianic Praise but we are ALL brothers and sisters in Yeshua(Christ)
Gideon6640man 4 months ago

God bless you.
cburton103 5 months ago
@cburton103 exactly! He was not merely claiming to be older than Abraham - otherwise, why would the Jews, devout as they were, pick up stones to stone him for blasphemy? It is because Jesus claimed to be God.
Now if he wasn't God he was either insane or evil - but if He was (and is) God then He deserves our worship.

@dawatcha100 Also, Jesus was fully man and fully God. As a man, Jesus does well to submit to God, and this is a good example to others.
cburton103 5 months ago
@dawatcha100 because, as it says in philippians 2, he emptied himself and took the form of a servant. The Romans didn't invent it - it is there throughout the New Testament. John 1 talks about it extensively. Hebrews shows that Jesus is above the angels. It's there, as clear as day to anyone who has the faith to accept it.
Norrington516 5 months ago
@Norrington516 yeah he came from god of that there is no question here. what i'm saying is that he was not god and said so himself. it's not a matter of having faith in him because i believe what HE said about himself and not what others have said. in the vision of the heavens he is seen on the right hand of the father and not as the father himself. in revelations he speaks of HIS god. and he prayed to god to take that cup away from him but submitted saying not my will but yours be done.......
dawatcha100 5 months ago
@dawatcha100 ....the pharisees wanted to kill him for saying he was the SON of god not god himself. he never made that claim and, if u are willing to seek it, the truth about the ADDED scriptures to support trinity is out there. if he was god then who was the voice from heaven that said "this is my son in whom i am well pleased" at his baptism? messiah means annointed. he was annointed with the holy spirit which descended on him like a dove and he carried out the word of god as DIRECTED.
dawatcha100 5 months ago

Norrington516 5 months ago
@stevejames1012 - obviously Thomas knew. The first thing he says to the resurrected Jesus in John 20:28 is "My Lord and my God!" and does Jesus correct him? Nope not at all. Read the first chapter of John as well. Many spots in the Bible talk about how Jesus is God in flesh. For example, in Acts 20:28, Paul tells overseers " to shepherd the church of God[a] which He purchased with His own blood." He did not say with the blood of his pal Jesus, but with his own blood. Covers 2/3 for now I guess.
twinmacs 5 months ago
@stevejames1012 - what you described there is three separate gods serving in the office of the Godhead. They are not three separate beings. They are one being, one in unity, one in purpose. There are three distinct manners in which God interacts with us: through the figure of a father, a son, and a guide. It's three separate ways of viewing a single God, a single Being.
x82hammer28x 5 months ago
I have just a couple of questions. Did they know they were being filmed? Are you aware that the word Trinity does not appear ONCE in the Bible? And when the Savior told the Apostles that he was going to his father and his God, that means he's going to himself? I was raised Catholic and even then the whole Trinity concept didn't even make sense. The challenge most people have is that they are too set in their beliefs and they think they can tell God what is true. Stop telling God it's done!
TheDeyRivera 5 months ago
@TheDeyRivera The word 'trinity' may not appear in the Bible however it is very clearly hinted at all throughout the Bible... in Genesis, God says let US make man in our own image... at various times the Angel of the Lord accepts worship and yet when humans try and worship other angels, like John in Revelation, the angel commands them not to worship him. Hebrews makes it clear that Christ is greater than angels. And Christ commands to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Norrington516 5 months ago
@Norrington516 " in Genesis, God says let US make man in our own image... " And you're using this as evidence of a trinity? 3 beings that are the same god?
I want to make sure that I understand trinity correctly. Please correct me if I'm wrong:
God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are separate beings but one God in purpose. Is that right or not?
stevejames1012 5 months ago
