Bottom line: Verizon has nothing to do with the sound effect of Motorola's phones.

@drawnhere it is because verizon thought it would be a good idea to re-name all there high end Android Devices to be called Droid. its stupid in my opinion, it just makes everything more confusing, stupid verizon should have just called it the HTC Incredible, not a droid

That's just one of the cooked up ROMs on a rooted phone. It's not the official 2.2 update.

HTC doesn't need to copy Motorola's childish "Droiiiiiiiid" sound effect. They should make their OWN sound effect. If I wanted the Motorola Droid, I would have gotten one.

@Chrisamberrahn lol your silly the Droid Incredible does not have a front facing camera. me thinks your stupid! :P It's got a Light sensor and the other one is a Proximity Sensor. and the other one is just an LED Indicator light. This is from the new OTa update that is rolling out soon. the reason it says htc at the top is obviusly because it is a Test Model that has the update. the update brings a WiFi hotspot feature and 720P Video Capture and this new DROID Boot Screen.

This is fake, that boot animation is literally the last 3 seconds of the tv commercial, then the eye looped to animate, its not even smooth...

The commercial is made by HTC . Are you saying they can't use their own content? Also, it's silky smooth. I think you need to re-watch the video in a lower rez because your Atom CPU can't handle 480P. Also, this animation is used on the Droid itself...........and the Droid X. So, just don't reply. I'll consider it your apology.

There are multiple videos on youtube that show custom startup screens. It doesn't mean its a new update.

@324190 This is actually going to be an offical OTA Update. It will also include 3G Mobile Hotspot (at an additional fee I would assume) and 720p Video Capture! WooHoo!

I just got my Droid Incredible, and this is NOT the boot up screen. So the comment about 'all new droid incredibles' is not even close to accurate. I'd take this with a grain of salt, as the Droid eye screen would take the place of the Verizon screen. Not sure its worth it to Verizon to send an update out to replace this. Plus, a 'test' model is typically not 'tied' to a provider, so Verizon has little say over this item.

@EQ3282 The update does more than just change the boot animation. It also lets you record in HD, adds a mobile hotspot feature. This is definitely legit. And he probably means new Incredibles that come out after this video, use common sense.

is this what the new boot up animation looks like on the later run incredibles? and i also notice that the top of the phone says "HTC" instead of Verizon.

i'm FINALLY getting mine in the mail tomorrow and really curious to see if i get the AMOLED OR TFT LCD screen.
