it's is extremely difficult to become one. a friend of mine was selected but dropped out of the training program. he said he could never extract / evacuate from the shooting area without getting caught by the pursuit team. joined Marine Recon instead.

That canadian fired 3 shots before he got his kill. it was out to 2,430 meters. With 3 seconds in between pulling the trigger and the bullet actually hitting the target thats impressive

These men are no less heroes then those that shoot others up close. I can't ever imagine looking through my scope down range and aiming center-mass at another living human being. *shutters* It's so personal. You practically play God with it. "this on lives, this one dies." That in and of itself requires more mental toughness than a regular infantry needs.

it's is extremely difficult to become one. a friend of mine was selected but dropped out of the training program. he said he could never extract / evacuate from the shooting area without getting caught by the pursuit team. joined Marine Recon instead.

That canadian fired 3 shots before he got his kill. it was out to 2,430 meters. With 3 seconds in between pulling the trigger and the bullet actually hitting the target thats impressive

You'll notice you don't see Canadian snipers on this or many other videos Reason they don't like pictures ,,the best snipers where camo or there dug in a hole half in half out and same color as there surroundings ..We also hold the worlds longest shot / kill record 2235 meters 2.3 kms i think in Iraq

You watch too many movies...Snipers do not ALWAYS need to where camo or dig themselves into the ground to be the most successful - Iraq is a lot different than Afghanistan - two totally different environments. Urban vs. Rural.
A sniper on a rooftop or in a building window can be just as successful as a sniper hiding in the bush or wearing camo in the field.

Whats up with the SVD? I used to pick up AKs and empty all the mags I captured for suppressive fire then take the bolt out and bend the shit out of on the curb and toss the rifle in the river. But I'm not sure Id rely on an SVD to save my life. Especially a captured one that has had untold thousands of rounds thru it.
