  • funky shtufff

  • i would rather not see the price of this

  • @macbookpro57 youd be suprised its not as expensive as some of the other b&o stuff its still 3000 :P

  • FUGLY THANG!

  • I love it big time.. but I just cant justify spending 3000 dollars just for the super-cool alluminum plates sliding out to the sides.

  • can this be used as a regular raidio to liek just flip throgh stations

  • b&o is the god and the BeoCenter 2 is an Angel!

  • Das is COOL !!!

  • so COOL

  • must cost about US$17000

  • how good is the sound and image on this?

  • @JohnF30Music This is only the BeoCenter, it doesn't include speakers.

  • i HAVE THIS !!! ITS REAL OLD

  • lets start with sound quality and work from there. Alien looking stuff aside.

  • if money is all we make for living then, you should worry about having a job. Look can be deceiving.

  • Carefull with kazz79angle's being ticked off by all of these. You see! foreigner's don't understand the concept that when you're adopted by SPENCER's family for instance, if your last name is Cruz, Legally you'll become SPENCER, but biologically you still Cruz. which means> Ignoring these nature is what makes u an hypochrites....You can dress a pig, but that doesn't mean a pig, is now out in animal kingdom.....

  • Lot of B&O freaks don't accept the idea for the past five years they were outsourcing from china and korea...Reason being, they're loosing sales profit....They're in big trouble but im pretty sure they'll overcome these only if they got the right CEO.......

  • You sir are correct. Such as the 103" Tv. Originally developed by Panasonic, and costing 70,000$. B and O made it a 170,000$ Tv. B and O worked with them to use the innards, as it were, to create their Tv. B and O developed the pneumatic ram to lift the Tv and added the other digital things. The amount of time and money to develop and produce a 103" plasma screen is phenomenal. Why would you think B and O would spend money to develop a Dvd player, when they could just buy one and make it better?

  • i wasnt disputing that B&O use other manufacturers parts - i was saying that the PRODUCT - Is A B&O Product - All u stated below was - oh''it's a phillips'' - could u BE more VAGUE!! FKN PRICK - u AMERICAN?? SHOULD HAVE GUESSED - YOUR ENLGISH THERE IS CRAP! ILLITERATE TWATS! COME TO LONDON- WE GOT THE BEST GRAMMAR SCHOOLS IN THE WORLD! and oh i aint no nigger - u racist pig!

  • who cares about grammar schools? are you gonna be a teacher? if not, you barely need grammar at all. Plus, i'm sure mine is better than you and i'm not even american or english

  • you fkn idiot! u dumb fuk - u really think Phillips have the engineerg and balls to produce this? ITS A B&O Bang and Olufson System u twat - check their website they currently do a £10000 system its awesome! PRICK!!

  • It is actually made by Teac you fools. It just has a B&O badge on it.

  • music is a language and emotion that every person in the worl can understand, music is one of lifes' great phenomenoms and what B&O offers is absolute diamond quality of sound. i have found through life, some thigs seem super expensive but u realy do get what u pay for. hahah sounding like a B&O rep',

    gotta love this Dansk art.

  • their product price rise every year. it is now about 4200 euro.

    unbelievable!

  • what's song? please...^^

  • i am so jealous.... aahh

  • how much does that cost ?

  • About £15000.

  • Or nearly $30,000? That's more than the Beolab 5s. Did you mean 1500?

  • hmm car or cd player, car or cd player??

  • What do you mean?

  • i mean that you could get the choice of buying a sedan or the b&o cd player

  • Oh yeah, well, a used sedan one. The CD player in this video is about $5000 US.

I own the A8 earphones, which are good. But, unlike people think, B&O is not the end of "hi-end" audio equipment (barely; their speakers, except the Beolab 5 and A8 earphones, are a joke). There are brands out there that crush B&O. I've heard a pair of Wilson Maxx speakers, and they were $50,000 a pair. Wilson's highest end, the Alexandria X2s, are $150,000 a pair. Now you could buy one hell of a car for that much!

  • yeah i heard merridian audio is also good bang and olufsen are just purchased because of their design and asthetics

  • Meridian is awesome. And yes, B&O is a big status brand. People that buy them are mostly status-crazed who think because it's a high-status brand, then it's the best. I was even told by a B&O dealer who was new to the job that he was curious why some people just come in and tell them what they want without even listening to them before they buy them. I listened to the Lab 3s, $4K, and 8000s $5K, and I've heard systems costing a 4th and 5th of the price of those that sound better.

  • Some of the high fidelity audio equipment I have. AMPLIFIER: LM-386 amplifier IC, 20 hertz to 2 megahertz, $1.49. TUNER: BT878, records 18kHz to 448 kHz all at once as WAV, $50 plus computer. PORTABLE AUDIO: Nintendo Gameboy Advance, 2GB, 90 minutes stereo music per 256 Mbit, $140 (memory card, Supercard, and GBA). CASSETTE: JVC-TD-V66, good enough for Digital Radio Mondiale, 11.4 kilobits AAC, $34 used including shipping. TURNTABLE: Technics SL-QD35, found in trash $0.00. CD: Durabrand $9.99

  • I recently got one for $4295.

  • UFO

  • wow that system looks extremely oldschool. some kind out of fashion eighties, hm? their other systems look much more modern even the one with the glidin glasses..

  • yo tengo un beocenter 2 y un beosound 9000 con 4 beolab6 y un plasma de 40"

  • will B&O produce blue ray player in the near future?

  • Bang & Olufsen are very rarely the 'first' out with a 'new' technology - (look what happened with Betamax Vs VHS Video !) so when a new format such as Blue Ray DVD is still in its relative infancy, there are no immediate plans to produce a Blue Ray Player as yet. Certainly if the format grows and becomes standard then there will be, I'm sure -

  • @9jubileestreet FUGLY THANG!

  • can you connect a beosound 2 to my tube amplifirefrom cayin? or must it be all from b&o?

  • Hi - no reason why not - The BeoCenter 2 has a 'socket unit' which has other scart and audio connections - well worth checking the spec of your amp with your local dealer though - and don't forget, the Bang & Olufsen speakers are also amplifiers, so generally there is no need for a seperate amp if sticking with B&O all the way !

  • you are so rich i jalose

  • i've got it! buy one and be the happy'est man in the world :D

  • the original! B&O

  • I know dude.....Bose is WAAAYYYYYY over rated.

B&O is so much better. Plus, they don't look so plasticky like Bose does.

  • You've got excellent taste !!! :))))

  • You're taste is great dude :P

  • There is different's in price you idiot

  • Bose and B&O are compared a lot of the way they promote themselves. Both proclaim they're the best, and people that aren't into hi-fi can't help but think they are. But, they fall short in SQ in their price range. Almost every decent system is better than Bose. B&O is much better; however, when compared to Wilson Audio, for example, they're no match. But, I'm refering to their speakers, omitting their earphones (which I'm listening to now;). Their other electronics are awesome. Great video!

  • Some of their latest speaker offerings are actually up there with the best. Have a listen to the BeoLab 9 and BeoLab 5...

  • The Lab5 and 9 are HUGE steps up from the lower-end. But, I haven't heard anything about them being on par with companies such as Wilson, Linn, or even B&W. I listened to the Lab5s, and although I'd have to listen to them again to make a final judgement, they didn't impress me. In fact, I'd take a system of Paradigm Signature speakers powered by an Anthem amp/preamp and JL Audio Fathom sub over any B&O system. Heck, even if I was given a B&O system for free, I'd sell it and get something else.

  • They can't have been set up correctly when you heard them then. B&O dealerships have a tendancy of ummm not doing a very good job when it comes to proper hifi (although the kit is perfectly capable).

The BeoLab 5s are a significant step up from any of the Nautilus speakers (believe me, I own many B&W loudspeakers myself), and they're definitely far better balanced, dynamic and transparent than any passive system I've heard. Linn don't have a chance, and the Watt Puppy 7s aren't as good...

  • I guess it does sometimes come down to personal preference. But, with all do respect, you're the only person that actually has experienced with other brands I've ever heard say that the Lab 5s are superior to other speakers in their price range or more.

But now, I have heard that B&O dealers don't calibrate them, so that may be one reason they didn't impress me. But, even if they did, I would still get something else, especially with a JLA Gotham sub;)

  • If only I were able to demo the B&Os - I know how they should be set up properly and how to best calibrate them (it's a simple procedure but things can be done to improve it even further).

They should also *always* be connected with the digital input, which means you have a 100% digital signalpath. I'm a vinyl fan, and the only time I've heard a digital system outperform a hi-end analogue system is with the B&Os.

Also, most B&O stores are acoustically dreadful beyond your imagination.

  • I'm sure they were set up right. They were in a "home theater" room, so they were in a room that must of had acceptable acoustics. I'd agree the rest of a B&O store isn't set up to sound great; all their speakers are just lined up along a long wall.

I'm not into old tech like vinyls or tubes, so I couldn't say anything there. But, considering all of the Lab5s tech, then maybe.

Speaking of B&W, do you know how much a pair of 802Ds, an HTM1D, and DS8S would cost? (not as a whole; each unit).

  • 802Ds are $12,000 or £8000. I don't know how much the HTM1D is, but I'm guessing it's gonna be ~$10,000 or ~£6,000. DS8s would cost $2,500 a pair, so $1,250 per speaker, or ~ £800 per speaker.

On top of that you are going to NEED a subwoofer to go with that system, which is gonna set you back further, plus amps etc. I can garuantee you would be better of with the B&Os, and using their 7-4 centre channel.

  • I got to demo the Beolab 8000s, 2, 3s, and 5s. The 8000s, 2, and 3s didn't impress me at all; they sounded boring and thin. But, I'd have to say the 5s were quite impressive. But, the sub in them really turned me off; it could be heared more than felt. And, I listened to some Paradigm Ref. Sigs before I heared the lab 5s, and I'd much rather perform a system of them with a JL Audio f113 Fathom sub. The Sigs to me sound more bold, and That Fathom sub WAY outperforms the Lab5's subs.

  • Yeh the 8000s are relatively boring speakers sonically. The BL3s are a little bit more exciting and snappy usually though. Maybe the demo ones were quite old (the earlier ones were very clinical).

BL5s do require a certain degree of structural integrity. They perform solidly down to 16 Hz, and still produce 'sound' at 8 Hz. With a 'bad' floor, the BL5s aren't as controlled and dynamic as they should be. The lows are by far the most authoritative, but dynamic and detailed/controlled I've heard.

  • Yeah the 3s sounded a bit better than the 8000s, but for nearly $4K I would expect a heck of a lot more. They do look cool, though.

I've heard the 5s can play that low, but when I listened to "Enjoy the Silence" by Depeche Mode on them, I could "hear" the bass, and good sub bass should be felt, not heard. The JL Audio Fathom does just that. You only notice it when you turn it off. It completely blends in with the music.

Heck, my JL Audio W3v3 plays Enjoy the Silence better than the Lab5s.

  • I see what you're saying, but coming from a pro-audio background, ideally you should be able to hear the subs. I'm personally a fan of a 'technically correct' sound over a 'warm' or 'musical' sound (although I don't like a dull, lifeless sound). The BeoLab 5s perform far more neutrally down to thunderous frequencies. Response from 20 Hz right up to as high as you could want is on a ±0.25 dB axis, which is simply unheard of. Technically you shouldn't expect not to hear a sub, and only feel it.

  • If you have that kind of money then you cant go past meridian. There products just blow my mind. I do like Bowers and Wilkins too but they are not generally that great for the money. found them comparable to Yamaha (which isn't bad, Ive liked the japanese audio companies for a lot longer than my friends). I was just expecting a little more out of them because they are european. If you wanna see something special check out meridian's

F80. make sure you bring your favorite CD, it will impress!

  • tight how much

  • beoCenter 2 retails for between £2750.00 and £2850.00 :))

  • I love B&O!!

  • I've got to get one of those, it's simply awesome.

  • beautiful

  • cool
