No offense i understand that no living thing can surivive in hell once they enter it and immediately die like that but on doom 64 you enter hell again and you don't die like that im just wondering if both got different story lines like that.

@Throom u die and get sent to hell and u rise back up from hell at the end of doom and u go to earth and well doom 2 "hell on earth" happends and after that idk they never added onn cause doom 3 was its own story but there makeing doom 4 but ppl r saying well hopeing it will continue the doom 1 and doom 2 and other ppl r saying its gonna be a remake in the ids new game engine for rage but like remake of doom 1 and 2 but nobody knows cause theres not that much info for it :P

Oh it seems we have a smartass in the house. How does the Marine 'die and go to hell' when the next Episode is Shore's of Hell on the Deimos Base? The next episode after that is then Hell itself. The marine dies here simply because it was shareware version and ID didn't take it out when they released the full game.

@Tommybotham True I think that its just a symbolism that he just entered a huge fight with 1000 monsters, all you really have to do is move forward a bit while shooting, the level ends without any death for me then. I don't agree that he dies because if you do actually die in that room then the level doesn't end, its just a grand ending for a game symbolizing the huge fight ahead.

That won't work either. It's part of the story -- the hero warps to the Deimos Outpost and instantly dies and goes to Hell. But since the Deimos Base is in Hell, the hero collapses and wakes up, thinking nothing unusual happpens... (Well, besides the Deimos-Base-in-Hell thing...

You can't - if you look in the level editor even if you kill all the monsters in the room, you are trapped and it takes 10% of your health every second you're in there.

No. You're wrong. You DO die. You die because no living thing ENTERS Hell. You Die and are reincarnated when you come out the other side of the gate on Deimos which is IN HELL. The moon was sucked through the vortex created by the teleporter when the experiment went ary. Thats how the monsters from Hell manage to get through into our world.

If you somehow managed to kill them all, you still die, because the floor in there is one of those toxic floors that do 10% damage AND penetrate IDDQD cheat.

If you have the full version than now you need to start episode 2- the shores of hell.

well when u go to the big pentagramm there are many demons i killed all these demons and left with 20% hp :D...nothing happens actually if u kill them (i had 200% hp varons didnt even touch me :D) and when i killed them i died :D

The song name is 'Sign of Evil'. I tried looking for tabs myself, but couldn't find any unfortunately. All I can suggest is learning how to play it by ear, that's what worked for me :)

Halo = generic. Doom didn't start shooters. Wolfenstien 3D basically started the FPS genre. Doom was the one to perfect it. Halo sucks ass; if it wasn't for Bungies insanely large marketing campaign, it wouldn't be near as successful. The only reason it's so popular is because every other game on the original Xbox was fucking horrible, and Halo was pretty mediocre.

@XYCoordinatesLOL I don't know what your definition of generic is, but the original Halo was considered great for a lot of reasons. Not many games in 2001 (especially for consoles) had the use of vehicles that multiple players could use, had the scope and scale, or graphics that Halo did.

I PERSONALLY enjoyed the story, mutliplayer, and being able to do coop with friends too. It seems a lot of other people did too.

You can't legally download doom 1,2 or final doom full versions for free.

If you're willing to pay, just look in internet shops.

If not, you have to do a lot of probing around to find it, but with enough presistence you will.

Note that when you download doom games, you will often be downloading just one file- WAD file, you need a source port to run it (like ZDoom, GZDoom, Skulltag, etc.)

Yes, you can survive in the dark room by tapping IDDQD as fast as you can. But that's it, nothing happens. And you can use noclipping to move to a certain point where you can see the whole room with poison all over the floor. And yes, it is meant that player dies and goes to hell.

to dartjoe: you're supposed to die, it's how the player gets to Hell in the next episode. Apparently you can actually survive that encounter, but I don't know anyone who's done it without cheating. BTW, I love the evil whale sounds the Barons make and the tune for this level.

If you cheat and get the plasma gun, you can get rid of them all but the floor will hurt you until you die, so it doesn't matter.
