  • thanks for posting this helpful info. I'm thinking of getting lingual braces. how long did your lisp last? i barely noticed it. does your tongue get caught, or cut by the braces. how long does the soreness last. does the pain start again after each adjustment? is it difficult to brush your teeth with the braces on ? thanks in advance for answering

  • @aberdaber55 hiya

how long did your lisp last? about a month

does your tongue get caught, or cut by the braces? yes!! rubbed raw, cut by wires, caught v v ocasionally. All worth it though!

does the pain start again after each adjustment? yes to varying degrees. sometimes 2-3 days, sometimes about an hour! less as time goes on and the adjustments being made are slower

is it difficult to brush your teeth with the braces on ? yes but with a waterpik you're laughing

  • ooooh, thanks for posting this video, i just have my upper and lower lingual braces 2 days ago. =)

  • @michleng17 how are you now?

  • @michleng17 does it affect your talking? I'm planning to get them in a week but I'm not sure. I don't want them if they affect speaking. and can those in the lower jaw be seen when you talk with people. My wedding is going to be in a year, certainly before my treatment is over, so I don't want the guests to notice lingual braces in the back of the bride's lower teeth. Thanks a lot for your answer in advance. wish you a comfortable treatment!

  • just got my incognito braces today (well on my lower jaw. the upper one will be in about a month), and so far it's not comfortable, but your video cheered me up. i hope it will get better soon

  • @verloren82 how are you finding things now?

  • i just got my linguals and my lisp is so much worse than yours! :( but luckily i have no tongue pain...the aching is bad though, i can't even brush my teeth without almost crying!

    xoxo

  • @lilmisshappygolucky how are you getting on now? x

  • @IncognitoBraces no more pain! thankgod. but a little bit of scratching on my tongue from one of the wires :( the lisp is pretty much gone too! yay! xo

  • @leilimn yeah mine was effected pretty badly for a while. i had a really bad lisp for the first week but it disappears slowly over time.

The lower jaw ones can only be seen if you open your mouth pretty widely (yawning, manic laughing, etc) but i didn't tell one of my best friends until about 5 weeks after i had them put it and i talk to her a lot every day so they can't be that obvious lol

  • what is the wax for

  • @SAMMEY11110

you place it onto the metal fixtures to protect the tongue when the brace rubs or cuts it. it provides relief.

  • @IncognitoBraces Hi, I am getting used to them now, although my tounge is still a bit sore on the sides, but will get better soon hopefully :)

  • Hi, tks so much for you videos, I am getting my Incognito in 2hrs 30 mins :) and I am really excited cause I had to go through a long way up to today...hope everything will do well !!

  • @MsDani04 How are you doing?

  • Hi, Thank you for posting your videos. This is my third day of having the incognito braces on...and I woke up this morning crying due to my tongue :(. Your videos really gave me more confidence....and i will go for the wax as soon as I finish watching all your videos. Thanks a lot!

  • Thanks for this you have helped me decide whether to get inognito or noT! Just had my impressions and will be getting mine on in 5-6 weeks! cant wait to get started!

  • @04005732 Brilliant! Glad to have helped. It's why I'm doing it!

Let me know how you get on! :-)

  • Thank you for doing this. I'm having an incognito brace fitted in about six months. Your advice was really useful.

  • Glad to see that your tweetment (it's hard to pronounce things proper with braces on ) is going well!

I went for Damon braces in the end as it was more suitable for my needs AND it was cheaper. (By gum these things are expensive!)

Licence to print money is this orthodontics game!!! (Grumble grumble). But at least you'll have a nice smile when you pay the bill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @billynotv Lol! Yes you are quite right! And I liked the gum pun!

Glad you've started your treatment and have found the best option for you! Keep me posted! Rose x

  • Thanks SO much for doing this series on lingual braces!

I'm on the threshold of committing to this treatment myself but haven't yet finally decided......

My case ( top + bottom ) is est, to take two years IF no extractions are necessary. Hmmmm.

Now that the worst stage seems to be over for you, my main question is: Would you definitely recommend it, and are you glad you committed to the treatment?

I like your sticker, although as you know, it's a V expensive way of going about getting one!!!!!!

  • Thank you for your lovely comments! really glad that the videos are helping you. I would absolutely recommend it, if you really want it done. If you look at my favourite videos, there are some interviews with people in the US who all recommended it highly after their treatment was finished! Yes, it is an expensive way of getting a sticker!!! Haha! Good luck with your treatment - keep me updated - I'd love to know how you're getting on!

  • how long is your treatment supposed to last for?

  • 18 months

  • I loooove your video series. It has been very helpful to follow your progress in getting ready to get orthodontic treatment myself.

  • Good luck with it! Glad the videos have helped you! Rose x

  • Thank you for making these videos! there is No first hand information out there , and i am getting I braces in two days! Thanks XO!!! keep posting videos!

  • Glad to be of help! Have you got them on now? How are they feeling? x
