  • It's so funny to hear Scar talking about the goodness of man

  • I love tht voice!

  • holy crap its Scar!!!

  • holy crap its Scar from Lion King.... dang very intelectual

  • Hank Azaria? Haha..

  • Sorry to ruin this but close your eyes and picture Scar sitting there being interviewed. It's quite hilarious.

  • @InkJuggler No need to be! It is hilarious!

  • @thepac12andbig10suck I thought so too! It doesn't take much, LMAO... ^.^

  • he's the kind of person that you just want to soak up their personality

  • God Bless Mr. Jeremy Irons, you reminds of the famous Jesuit philosopher. Karl Rahner, who stated, "... for the ones with great difficulty and no clear evidence of success plot away at the task of awakening in just a few men, a small spark of faith, of hope and of charity." A.M.D.G.

  • I WANT MY GPS TO TALK LIKE HIM

  • This gentleman is the epitome of greatness. The fact he took the "Are you evil?" question so seriously and honestly makes him all the more fantastic. Brilliant, intelligent, handsome even in his age. And of course, his voice is amazing.

  • Awesome voice.

  • I love his voice no hgmo scar rules

  • Jeremy Irons needs to be an philosophy professor at a university. his classes would be packed.

  • i love him

  • long live SCAR! XD

  • 'Are you evil?' great fucking question

  • Jeremy isn't a "rogue actor", he's the second coming.

  • Fuck Morgan Freeman, this guy will narrate my life!

  • interviewer possibly republican or just my imagination?

  • Very attractive and thoughful. Good combination and a one that i can appreciate.

  • SCAR. SCAR. SCAR. CANT THINK ABOUT ANYTHING BUT SCAR. OMG.

  • Jeremy Irons:

    1. Brom in Eragon

    2. Scar in the Lion King

    3. That guy in the Pink Panther 2

    4. Probably half a million things ive never seen

    5. A PURE HUNK OF TOTAL AWESOMENESS!!!!

Strike the irons while he's still hot!

  • He is wise, deep AND SEXY AS ALL HELL. COME AND GET ME, JEREMY.

  • SCAR!

  • "Prisoners have just fallen on the wrong side of the line, from poor education.. etc"

I take it he doesn't quite know the definition of a psychopath.

  • @AeonDeity

I'm pretty sure Jeremy wasn't referring to psychopaths here...

The majority of people in jail do have the capability to be good people.

    Psychopaths are clearly an exception.

  • Reporter: Are you evil?

Jeremy Irons: Would you like to know my little secret... I killed Mufasa!

  • very wise good sir

  • perfect villian voice

  • @Babasaurusrex every time!

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooh i see why he is all anti death penalty. he thinks everyone is good inside. like some anne frank shit. i knew it had to be out of ignorance he would say all this stuff.

no, buddy. no. anyone who doesnt believe in evil has never met a truly evil person.

  • Scar.!!

  • I was sat two rows behind him on an airplane to Heathrow the other day!

  • I find Jeremy Irons' voice incredibly soothing and epic. And I'm straight.

  • did she seriously jus ask him are you evil??? lol

  • what accent is that?

  • @dorensnax i think english.

  • @dorensnax: Its a moderate form of the British Received pronunciation / Queen's accent. Found most often in the home counties in south England, and considered rather classy and a status symbol.

  • @dorensnax Well he's from the Isle of Wight.

  • I love his philosophy and I completely agree with his ideal way of looking at things, superb! I, too, wished America would've handled that situation much better than they did...

  • SCAR XD

  • I wish i had a mixture of his and alan rickman voice

Man these guys are the true Men

  • @bestgoaliecasillas I think we could be very good friends.^^ At least you know where the word 'man' stands for and what 'sexy' means. =D

  • SCAR!

  • He should have been Snape...

  • @Zacofonix nah voldemort

  • @Zacofonix meh, i personaly think alan rickman was perfect for him, even J.K rowling saw A.R as Snape, but i can certainly see why you would think he'd make a good snape. they both have perfect voice.

  • @HORSEZOX I KNOW RIGHT.

  • I want to be his neighbor.

  • Really wise and true good man with awesome voice! We need more people like him :)

  • he's ridiculously intelligent.

  • Jeremy has made the most adorable son in the world(MAX IRONS<3)

  • Irons is a genuinely deep thinking, philosophical and wise man.

He is right, we all have good and bad within us. Extremes and small amounts. It just depends which one we display.

That's been the way for thousands of years.

  • *sigh* what a voice...

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE his voice!!

  • Jeremy Irons is truly wise.

  • Best voice ever to grace this planet.

  • *sigh*

  • "the instinctive reaction, is not always the best one... act in a different way."

    that was powerful.

  • I love this man!

  • Comment removed

  • scar

  • Simba, What have you done? I keep hearing that in my head when he speaks o-o OH SCAR.

  • His voice sounds like Hugh Laurie somehow.

  • i had the opprtunity to meet this guy in person when he came to abu dhabi to a hotel called qasr al sarab where i worked ... i was his butler ... when i told him am from morocco he tried to show some love ... but when he check out he didn't leave tips :(

  • scahhhhr

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!! i just watched Lion King again last week. i looked and found he did Scar so i looked for an interview from around that year. he looked a LOT different. then i looked for a more recent one and OMFG HES THE SAME DUDE FROM ERAGON!!!!!! I NEVER NOTICED HIS VOICE IN THAT!!!!!

  • I know this is a serious conversation, but can I help it is my panties drop a little every time he says a word?

  • Opinions are like assholes - everybody's got one. (And most of them stink.)

    Have you washed yours?

  • lol I skipped all the parts where the woman opened her mouth and just listened to his voice. He's an amazing guy and seems very tolerant and kind.

  • SCAR!!!!!!!!!

  • Also, it is inherently patronizing and frankly bizarre to use the analogy Mr. Irons used of a "wayward son" who "wrecks his father's car", in describing the actions of Islamic extremists. Are these Muslims the "wayward son"? Also, to say -- as he did -- that "you shouldn't car about the car" implies that the only loss has been property damage. Mr. Irons, there have been thousands of people murdered in the name of Islamic extremism in over 24 countries. What a bizarre and callous analogy.

  • I admire Jeremy Irons, but this speech is a clear example of why actors shouldn't dabble in politics or pop psychology.

Mr. Irons, if someone commits an unspeakable act of violence against your family (per the WTC attacks, as you discuss here) do you ask "Where did I go wrong?" I don't think so. But that's just my opinion.

  • @MrOctobersurprise you are truly wise. Only politicians and lawyers should do such. The are truly polished, refined, sage pillars of ethical clarity. He makes sense...

  • the answer to the world problems is fertillity rates. cut population growth with 70% in ALL countrys and i shal carantee this website that all resource/material needs will stablize within 13,5 years. most crimes are related to population's proximity to each other and basic needs. and dont tell me its because we have poor leaders.

simply stop obeying them. drop evrything in your hands and leave the work place. and the high and mighty become men who are not worth their shoes,

  • whenever i hear his voice i always think of scar from the lion king

  • Very wise advice -- and from a actor too! No wonder he does not fit the Hollywood mold. He's too clever by half.

  • He really understood something important, urguing against instinctive reactions...

There`s a speech he did for amnesty international - against the Death Penalty.

I`ve been involved in the discussion and it seems that way too many people are into the concept of governmental execution. Open minded people,... come and join it so that we can overpower those who support the Death Penalty. You`ll find the video on the right side among the suggested videos. Read the comments and participate.

  • Handsome, polite, clver, excellent actor ...ahhhh a splendid brithich man.

  • I love his way of thinking. God bless you Jeremy

  • It still strikes me as amazing that a man who has spent the lion's share of his acting career portraying some of cinema's most sinister and cruel villains can be so empathetic and compassionate in real life.

  • Yeah! this guy Is Virgo Sun Aries Moon, you will find most people with this combination are either actors, musicians, professors, lecturers, writers, motivational speakers etc I have the same combination and more tha enough times have I been complimented on my articulation of expressin myself so CLEARLY. He speaks truth but I understand him 100% because he is no different than me.

  • "I'm gonna find that boy and sppaaaank the backside off him..." - Jez Irons.

  • I do not agree with some of Mr. Irons' political, social and economic views. But you have to appreciate his brilliance as an actor.

  • wow. he has such an elegance about him

  • Happy 62th birthday to you Jeremy Irons (19 September 2010)

  • All i can think through this whole thing is, Scar, Scar, Scar, and wait whats that..oh yes SCAR!

  • speechless...

  • What a brilliant mind!

  • Omg! Its scar!

  • He's talking about grace!

  • he has a sexy voice,

  • omg it's scar

  • a rogue actor? he should be a lecturer for philosophy XDDD

  • he's right. forget about the car. try to answer the real question instead, which is, where did we go wrong? think about the Joker, the only difference between him and Batman is just one bad day. everyone has the possibility to fall, when being pushed too far. by the way, I think Jeremy Irons should be the voice of Smaug!

  • I think he is the best person for Halt in 'Ranger's apprentice' I mean he looks like him

  • What's with all these interviews featuring actor Jeremy Irons, I keep running into; did he go 2 prison recently, or something?

  • What a canny and intelligent guy. Also, the politeness and loveliness of his voice are appealing. Nice guy!

  • so basically is he saying once he acts as a murderer or something like that he cant let go of that personal side of his life. im not saying he goes killing innocent people but has familiar emotions

  • Not only is he a great actor but he is a clever man as well. He has a heart. Too many of the paparazzi and press glorify celebrities who are poor role models. This man is an excellent role model in his work ethic and in his values he holds dear. Bless him!

  • i love his voice ... eeeeevil *.*

  • I disagree : Should the jews have sat down and soul search them selves when germany bombed Warzaw ? No, Jeremy do the right thing : Spank the boy but don't spank the neighbours like America did !

  • Jeremy Irons Is Such An Intelligent Person.

  • yes. u are amazing. you are so

    right..

  • What an intelligent, down to earth, lovely human being...

  • Jeremy u are an

amazing human being. U are beautiful..

  • I love this man

  • It's Scar

  • really great voice

    especially as scar!

by the way: his "german" voice actor is one of my favs by the way

  • Simon says" Dare you Fart on Irons".

  • people should take all the money thats put into sponsoring disease research, marijuana, and many other retarted things to feed starving kids around the world. fuck the death penalty, this guy should put his focus upon kids who were born and face death without making a single decision. people are so damn dumb i feel like im the only one who realizes this

  • @captaincel

Feed the world? Well the world could feed itself if teh western nations eliminated africas intrest debt. But they dont. The infrastructure of mankind is capable of feeding the world many tiems over. But to do so would increase teh population even more. The strain on resources is only getting bigger. If Africa was free of its debt, the quality of life would rise and thier would be less of a need for kids. Most of charity money never goes to its intended target, so its pointless.

  • i disagree; if you feed the world it will respond with increasing its human population, to truly solve world problems we must enrich out grains with estrogen to cut down birth rates. dont heal the world, just nuder it, Problem solved.

  • if you are looking for marshmallows youll find none here..

  • LMAO!

"If you're looking for a prize at the bottom...there is none. Just more carboard"

  • sexxyy voice i could talk to this guy all day

  • @arbiterjei I would just listen all day.

  • I hold so much respect for this man's acting ability, but a thousand times more for his wisdom.

  • I hear Scar in that voice :) .

  • The sexiest voice ever!!!!!!!

  • if your looking for a prize at the bottom, there is none, only more cardboard...

  • i thought he did a good job playing that evolved mutant human thing in the time machine

  • SCAR!!!!

  • "If your looking for marshmallows, there are none..... Its quite bland."

  • you gotta love Jeremy irons.

  • I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!

  • Do you think Jeremy Irons feels guilty for killing Mufasa?

  • He's not evil, he's just sexy.

"Light of my life, fire of my loins, my sin, my soul, Lo-lee-ta"

  • very interesting man

  • "Are you evil?!" goddamnIwanttostranglethatbitchargharghargh

  • jeremy iron's is a buddist?

  • love this

  • What exactly is the word he said he was holding back?

  • I was just wondering if, say in the time when man were still living in caves and wearing animal skins, did they still have the same trials and tribulation like we have today.

  • Did they have consiences or were they conscious of their decisions and were they able to recognize right from wrong? Did some people have mental defects or make wrong choices that led to murder and rape, or are things like evil and punishment just a product of civilization as we humans become more aware of what our minds and bodies are capable of?

  • Does the animal kingdom possess some evil within them, or is it just a human phenomenon that we have developed as a society.

  • well, the first siblings engaged in mortal combat, so...

  • We never left the animal kingdom. We are still ruled by sex and fear.

  • Do you reckon Jeremy would of been a terrific King Herold if they were to do a new film about Jesus Christ because that personally would be simply a great role for him to play I have always really enjoyed seeing him play very cruel sadistic villains in a fair amount of his movies and they don't come any crueler than King Herold who basically enjoys taunting and trying to humiliate Jesus and Jeremy Irons is the only actor that I can possibly think of who could play a sensational King Herold

  • he said we all have the possibility to become that

  • he didnt say we will become we have the possibility. it has nothing to do with whether or not they have the right mindset to do it. it is just that we all have the possibility to become rapists murderers etc which is similar to me or you having the possibility to become an engineer or a scientist. it is not definite only a possibility one of many

  • ok ok im pretty sure this could go on for a while because we both believe we are right or rather our opinion is the right one. so i know when someone is not going to be swayed. i respect your opinion on irons statement but i truly do believe that we have the possibility to become murderers etc it is simply whether or not we choose to make that change

(also could you please tell me where i negated myself this is not me trying to score points i am just curious as i was pretty sure i didnt thnx)

  • Jeremy is right. Everyone has this possibility in himself. Have you ever think about extreme situation? Concentration camp etc. - maybe you would be surprised what you can change in... I spent 10 months studying this at the University-mother of five children who wouldn´t harm a fly killed newborns...Do you know "Death is my Trade" by Robert Merle? - great book about this phenomenon.

  • you are a truly emotionally and intellectually enlightened human being with a great view point on the worlds difficulties your a real prophet

  • also be the perfect choice to play Dr Watson how amazing would that be I reckon if they do make a film about Sherlock Holmes then Jeremy Irons and Oliver platt would both be wonderful together as Holmes and Watson Hollywood need to sit up and take more notice of two incredibly gifted actors who deserve far more respect and appreciation than they are given

  • Good choice! Well, Hollywood obviously don´t think so: Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. are going to replace them...

  • @toffeematt this comment is hilarious in hindsight

  • @toffeematt ARAMIS IS THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO(GENERAL OF THE JESUITS)

  • I've always imagined him playing Sherlock Holmes now that would be tremendous casting I think he has the right sort of face for playing the detective and he tends to speak in a rather calm manner a lot of the time which is what Sherlock Holmes is supposed to be like very quiet reserved and intelligent and I honestly think that Jeremy Irons would be an outstanding Sherlock Holmes he would be my number 1 choice quite simply because he's such a fantastic actor and in my opinion Oliver Platt would

  • this guy is a leader at hart.

he also needs to play more bad guy rolls in movies.

    die hard, lion king..ect..

dare i say: next US president?

  • @VIA919 - Jeremy Irons wasn't in Die Hard; that was Alan Rickman, who plays Snape in the Harry Potter movies. But I can see why you mixed them up. They are pretty similar in terms of looks and deep voices. :)

  • @RandomWriter9110

    Die Hard with a Vengeance

    The third one.

  • @VIA919 - Oooh, okay. I thought you meant the original Die Hard. Sorry!

  • @RandomWriter9110

    It's all good.

    =]

  • @RandomWriter9110 he was in the second one. google it dude.

  • @obeseocallaghan - I'm aware of that now. If you read VIA919's response to me right after my original comment, you would've noticed that he pointed out my mistake. And I'm not a guy; I'm a girl.

  • Love his voice, he seems like an intelligent classy guy.

and I love when I scroll away from the video to read comments, I picture Scar talking >_>

  • I opened up, simultaneously played and muted a scene that had Scar talking to kid Simba., while I listened to Jeremy irons talk here. It was kinda freaky....

  • Brilliant,Sir!

If only they had ears to hear!

  • Why is it that all the best "bad guys" are played by British actors?
