Games like this an everquest 2 can suck my dick. They shouldn't even call themselves f2p games.Since people who play it for free pretty much just get the crap end of the stick. My advice for anyone thinking about playing these games is don't. There are plenty of other legit free mmos out there that you can play. And ones that won't screw you over like lotr and eq 2. With these games you won't have fun unless you actually pay for a subscription to them.

Games like RoM are laggy, buggy and there's not enough players online for it to be worth playing. So for lotro, it's worth paying 15 euro for a great experience

And my point is that they shouldn't call it a f2p game at all. especially if there is no real reward for being a f2p user. They punish you by giving you the mediocre parts of the game. And they try their hardest o make you pay for the game. A tactic that is lost on me. Because if i'm going to pay for a game then i'm going to pay for for a game that's actually worth it. 2 - it's repetitive. The areas change, yet the side quests and the monsters change little to none. You get some wild pigs/bears/bats/spiders/etc. in every area with the only difference that they have more morale and power. Still these monsters are the greatest part of all monsters in an area. Boring...
@kimper5 There is a subscription and you can also buy quest packs and expansions from the shop. In order to play in certain areas you HAVE to buy an expansion pack (Moria for example). Plenty of ways to rip off a poor player if you ask me. XD

@ironmaiden93ofangmar People tend to look at the systems and mechanics of a game more than they do the experience itself. I don't care if I'm top DPS, or if my class has the best ability, I just want a great experience, and to do things I could never dream of in the real world. I can do math in the real world, I can't kill a dragon. Kinda digressed there, but that's why, people look too much at the mechanics of games rather than the overall feel of the game. Which is what gaming is all about.

I remember playing this game 3 years ago... good old times man.. Fucking amazing times actually. Playing music with my kin mates at the Prancing Pony. I really do miss it sometimes, but in the end it's just another grind fest and I'm done with that.
@Kevalot22 it depends on the graphics you use, if you got a really good PC and use the highest graphics its more like art, but you can set the graphics really really low will make good gameplay even on the worst of PC's

@chnl97mta Totally agree with you, mate. This free-part is just a way to milk your wallet. Almost everything in this game requires Turbine points, which are paid. Yes, you can win them by doing deeds etc., but considering the speed with which this is done, it's pretty obvious that this game is everything but free. LOL Even basic things are restricted and you have to BUY them like the currency cap or the inventory restriction (3 bags for free players).

@Jhizz1212 lol. Just because you are playing on a high resolution with no lag, doesn't mean your internet connection is slow. I caught mine downloaded pretty fast. No problems. My download speed is some of the fastest in my area.
LOTRO is one of the very few examples of what to do RIGHT with a free-to-play MMO. It has more success as a free-to-play game than it did a pay-to-play game.
Lotro is a good game.if you have enough time to run around collecting Tp by doing deeds you can almost be vip.If you buy some of the new expansions you can run through it easily.only thing through is the download took me like 3 or 4 hours but it is worth it over the high graphics.
@stalexwarking35 LOTRO, without a doubt. It's very story driven, and very fun. F2P players can play a lot if not all of the epic story (the games main story line). So if you don't care much about the quest regions, you can just play the epic story quests even through moria and lothlorien, and probably even beyond that.
used to love this game until they started with the "points". The game became so limeted, you couldn't even move your char without having to buy more points.

It runs fine on relatively low settings. My PC is quite old and it sucks I know -.-, but I guess it's normal because I bought it several years ago. My hard disk had a problem last week and I have to decide between a new one, or a new computer. but it's gonna be expensive
I'd seriously recommend a new computer. It's gonna be pricey, but it's gonna be worth it. Also having a new hard disk has its own benefits. When you keep formatting the disk when doing a re-installation of Windows it wipes the disk data, which can be harmful when done a lot of times. Long story short the hard disk wear down when being formatted, so buying a new one will result in an increase in speed even if it's the same one. You won't feel it though without better hardware.

Wow i just remembered how crap the start of this game is but it does pick up after that, amazing game, visually spectacular. Definitely worth getting ive tryed so many other games and this is one of the best.

LOTRO is one of the very few examples of what to do RIGHT with a free-to-play MMO. It has more success as a free-to-play game than it did a pay-to-play game.

Lotro is a good game.if you have enough time to run around collecting Tp by doing deeds you can almost be vip.If you buy some of the new expansions you can run through it easily.only thing through is the download took me like 3 or 4 hours but it is worth it over the high graphics.

@stalexwarking35 LOTRO, without a doubt. It's very story driven, and very fun. F2P players can play a lot if not all of the epic story (the games main story line). So if you don't care much about the quest regions, you can just play the epic story quests even through moria and lothlorien, and probably even beyond that.

I'd recommend an intel core duo 2 gig RAM and a radeon x1950 with this you're gonna be able to play most relatively new games at the bare minimum for a low-cost computer

It runs fine on relatively low settings. My PC is quite old and it sucks I know -.-, but I guess it's normal because I bought it several years ago. My hard disk had a problem last week and I have to decide between a new one, or a new computer. but it's gonna be expensive

I'd seriously recommend a new computer. It's gonna be pricey, but it's gonna be worth it. Also having a new hard disk has its own benefits. When you keep formatting the disk when doing a re-installation of Windows it wipes the disk data, which can be harmful when done a lot of times. Long story short the hard disk wear down when being formatted, so buying a new one will result in an increase in speed even if it's the same one. You won't feel it though without better hardware.

@floddell There is no free time limit. I've been playing atleast 5-6 hours a day for over 100 days. Along with some days of grinding for 10-15 hours.

Wow i just remembered how crap the start of this game is but it does pick up after that, amazing game, visually spectacular. Definitely worth getting ive tryed so many other games and this is one of the best.
