Never has a video game moved me to tears. That is, until AC:R. To know that Altair and Ezio's story is over is truly saddening. Assassin's Creed is my favorite video game series. From the music to the emotional connections I've made with the characters. As much as I'll miss Altair and Ezio, I am still looking forward to the conclusion in AC:III.

@NunoEdge2 Well, Ezio is 52 in Revelations. He was about 40 when II ended and Brotherhood began. It took place in 1500-1503. Revelations take place in 1511. He's not that old. If you're asking why Altair put the apple in his chamber, then I guess he realized it had too much power. He wanted to hide that power from the Templars and the coming Mongols. My theory is that he died right after because he gave up the Apple. It must have prolonged his life. I mean, Ezio died at 65.

In AC 2, Ezio found the apple in a templar shipment returning from Cyprus. Then, afterwards, he defeats Rodrigo and the apple, along with the staff disappear into the ground.

However, in AC Brotherhood, Cesare got the apple... somehow... and then Ezio took it back and killed him.

THEN in Revelations, Altair says the REAL apple was in Masyaf the whole time, and that there was no apple in Cyprus.

SO WERE THERE THREE APPLES?! WHAT?!

My guess is the title name for AC games will vary depending on who the main character of the game is.

AC1 was primarily Altair.

AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations was Ezio primarily.

We know Ezio dies peacefully and there's not much left to do with him, so in AC3 we will either expect all Desmond or a new ancestor. Either case merits it being AC3.

Think of GTA Between GTA 3 and 4 we had San And, Vice City etc. AC3 will most likely if not definitively feature a new assassins story and time era. AC3 is rumored to be out within the next 2 years

@Republicinema At the end of AC1 Subject 16 wrote the end of revelations on the wall with his blood (how the world ended). You can see signs in all of the lab, especially Desmond's bedroom.

Basically, the whole plot of AC3 is happening in 2012, and thats when the game is coming out too :) Sadly, I think AC3 is the ending :/
