Did he ever meet his weredad in this make If he did I missed it= and no I dont think its lined up where George dies and Joshs story wld start...thatd b such a horrible idea....
@wvboarder2005 yes he actually did, at the 2nd or 3rd episode of the 1st season. he taught him how to speak to woman 'george is as george does'. he even helped him to first talk to nina. and the chicken trick was his idea too.
That was amazing :) it was tense but also funny with George's classic screams and noises. But i found myself wide-eyed for at least 10minutes after!! :) :)
@WolfXY2J Exactly what I was thinking!!!! I was like, "This is SO 'Blair Witch'" and American Werewolf in London.
George was sooo tolerant of that annoying dude. Is this Europe's experience of American Tourists? Loud, obnoxious, clueless tools? LOL.
It was cute how the American dude was such a sharp contrast from George who was quiet, refined, civilized and exercise common sense, "The light you moron! give me your phone. YOUR phone..." ugh, I would have been exhausted dealing with that
Oh man, when this first started i forgot what George had previously said in BH about the night he was attacked and thought he was going up there to change then i realised when it got dark and was like... shit.
i got really scared! no joke, and i knew what was coming wtf
i love this! haha so funny and scary at the same time, the american dude is soo hilarious, the dialogue's always great, even for online stuff, i really like this sort of backstory, it adds so much more dimension to Bh universe :)
the whole things great but that actors not actually american. At some points you can see some holes in his accent. like when he says "Check this out, loook at tha' mooon!"
By the way, when the 'tourist' said "Scot", the "T" at the end is strongly emphasized. Most New Yorkers don't pronounce it with such a strong emphasis at the end and no one says 'totally' or 'like', lol, that I know. Not even in Cali, even. But this is still hilarious.
ach, i think this accent is totally botched- it's regionally all over the place. Though he's right in that Americans NEVER stop talking (say "like" and "totally" way too much) and inviting themselves along when they should probably find their own way. That said, I'm from the U.S. and I avoid Americans like the plague when I'm abroad. Also, I know plenty of brits what don't drink tea or live in manor houses...More like council flats and lucozade!
@crappingmypants Yeah, I'm from New York. Favorite colloquial term is 'you know.' Some New Yorkers speak a mile a minute and some can go half a day without uttering a word. American's are no different from anyone else abroad and so forth. I should know. I've been to the U.K. among other places, and people are pretty much the same, personality wise. Some are talkative, some are quiet, some are snobbish or full of it, and some are cool. That's pretty much the human race in a nutshell.
"Hey dude, it's your land..." Oh, that made me laugh... XD The annoying tourist reminded me so much of some of the tourists we get in the summer... haha ;P
something tell me that American guy is only pretending to be American. The pronounciation seems way too forced plus the guy who wrote his dialogue for him used way to many stereotypical words like "totally" and "Dude" but then again I might be wrong.

The guy who will play George has to be really good. Overall I'm more of worried about the person who's going to play George since he's the one who keeps the group in the first place.
@mila203 I really just don't think it'll be that good, but yeah, I agree. I think the writers and the whole cast should really watch and get to know the show, to get a good feel of it.
@Dance1718 Ditto. :( What I don't get, it is in English. They have accents, but a lot of Americans loooovvvveeeee accents. So why can't we just import the show like we are now and keep it that way? Really, at most they could do to make it better is to make new seasons air simultaneously in both the US and UK.
i agree with you....i live in the US, ad i hate when they take shows from overseas and remake it thier own....here in america...they don't like change or shows of supernatural, that has to deal with vampires, werewolves or ghost living together.
we have one show right now that is called the gates were vampires, werewolves, succubus and witches live in a gated community. it taps more in to the real world more than supernatural...they don't really do much on the show.
I think that guy was there for pure albeit irritating comic relief.
Believe me, if they really wanted to appeal to the stereotypical average American audience they would feel the need to replace the British cast altogether....Ooops! that apparently already happened. I don't know about any other US fans, but I REFUSE to watch it since it will be raped beyond recognition.
In the last 90% of the British movies I've seen, there's either an American character, or the travel to the States or there's a big inclusion of an American thematic. My opinion is that the easiest way of making something famous around the world is to first make it famous in the States, and that a very useful tool
Trust me, it's no less annoying to the Americans with any common sense. Pretty much the cliche caricature of the stupid American--I figured they made him so annoying we wouldn't care (or would cheer?) that he actually got eaten.
andy gets killed in the one of the first episodes when george said he was attacked in scotland he said there was someone else with him and he was gutted. so it was probably andy
Sad thing is I'm American, and I have to admit we can be exactly like this. I went on vacation in Germany and stayed with an American tour group filled with walking parodies of this stereotype. We are an overzealous people!
gneerowblack: It appears to be an homage to, or at the very least a reference to "American Werewolf in London," in which the American protagonist is made a werewolf during an attack on him and his friend on some Scottish moors.
This is exactly what we saw in the series only from a different perspective. Unlike Mitchell's or Annie's there is no need for alot of backround info, its pretty cut and dry; one day he's a human the next he's a werewolf.
I believe he was in Scotland for a vacation, I think this was addressed in the original pilot (with a different Mitchell & Annie) it provided alot more backround info on how the characters met Annie, whereas the pilot shown elsewhere picks up where that one left off.
That guy would piss me right off and I am not dissing Americans most of my family is American but it's just that guy.....UHHHHH....he gets on my nerves watching this XD
The guy who plays George does the same overstressed 't' sound as Adam Woodyat from Eastenders, it's really annoying, no-one ever uses a hard oratorical T in conversation, so it sounds stilted and clumsy.
I'm surprised the director never mentioned it to him, it throws off the meter of every line he delivers.
In general, like in other countries, Americans are lumped together as a group. I've lived in Asia and Europe. They're surprised to find a polite one with cultural sensabilities. Just think of it as blacks in the U.S. One black does something wrong and the whole race is guilty of being that same way . BTW, I'm black. I KNOW what I'm talking about, dig?
lol is that what the world thinks how americans act? lol im mexican american so im wondering if the world thinks its all americans or just the white americans. lol either way he was very annoying but funny. surprised he didnt say dude lol:D
i know the american was supposed to be annoying, but i thought he was hilarious. another brit would not have been as amusing-- or so i think. and i'm american, by the way. i don't really find this offensive, though, because the thing people have to realize is that one person does not represent an entire nation and i know not all americans act that way, so i think it's cool. :)
Re: "...another brit would not have been as amusing..." I read somewhere that the "American" (his voice, that is) was Aiden Turner (Mitchell). That was his rendition of a stereotypical American. I may be wrong, but if you listen closely, the voice does sound like Aiden Turner's (timbre, pitch, his manner of speech, etc.).
oh, good call. i think you're right. i thought the "American" sounded funny, but i thought that was just because he was trying to talk with a scottish accent. i guess the reason he sounded weird was because he's not really an american at all.
That wouldn't surprise me...the accent was wrong from the start. A good try, but brits always over-do the pronunciation of r's.
I find these prequels interesting, because they make the show seem like more of a horror show than it really is. This and the Annie prequel were definitely scary.
If he did it might have been out of respect. If he said "Yeah, there was this annoying tourist, totally hated his guts... funny, actually, because the wolf seemed to think they were delicious." then it wouldn't have been George, I don't think. :) He's too nice.
Yeah, I was thinking that all through the video....
Maybe they were worried about the whole "hiking through Scotland with a friend - he got killed, now I'm a werewolf" was too much like "American Werewolf in London" to be safe.
I am amused that so many people have pointed out the tourist as being American and annoying. What about half the tourists we get in the USA that are haughty and pretentious as hell?
This is a good series regardless, and I think half of you fools are the children of brainwashed hippie idiots.
I realize it's a comedy, but perhaps if you noticed the comments of others, you would see that my comment is in response to everyone that believes that all Americans are over-reactive nitwit tourists. I think you need to read a few more of the older comments. Thanks!
My only criticism of this series is that they make George's condition out to be like its some kind of disability. Better would be if he could change any time he wanted to but absolutely had to at the full moon.
Kind of saddening that my country's stereotype is so ridiculously annoying, though. :\ Glad not to fit into such a thing, I guess. I loved the clip though!
....Wow..Now I feel very awkward cuz I'm American and hearing that guy ramble on like that...Yeeeeeah...>.>

Sorry man, I don't want to slag off your idol or anything, but that whole Silvia Young style of acting winds me up big time.

@aurochffx The UK are exposed to American accents. Where as in America you don't hear the British accent very often.

Just tell people that you're Canadian, it's pretty much what all Americans do when they're travelling, anyway.

"...if it can see the light, then it can hear you shrieking like a baby!" LOL! That shriek is one ot the things I love best about George...hilarious.

i know the american was supposed to be annoying, but i thought he was hilarious. another brit would not have been as amusing-- or so i think. and i'm american, by the way. i don't really find this offensive, though, because the thing people have to realize is that one person does not represent an entire nation and i know not all americans act that way, so i think it's cool. :)
soozers26 2 years ago 3
Re: "...another brit would not have been as amusing..." I read somewhere that the "American" (his voice, that is) was Aiden Turner (Mitchell). That was his rendition of a stereotypical American. I may be wrong, but if you listen closely, the voice does sound like Aiden Turner's (timbre, pitch, his manner of speech, etc.).
Nova98 2 years ago
oh, good call. i think you're right. i thought the "American" sounded funny, but i thought that was just because he was trying to talk with a scottish accent. i guess the reason he sounded weird was because he's not really an american at all.
soozers26 2 years ago
That wouldn't surprise me...the accent was wrong from the start. A good try, but brits always over-do the pronunciation of r's.
I find these prequels interesting, because they make the show seem like more of a horror show than it really is. This and the Annie prequel were definitely scary.
merrykate37 2 years ago 5
maybe you just under pronounce the r's it is english after all

is this andy the dude who died when george became the werewolf coz i swear george said it was his mate
doctorwhofan82 2 years ago
If he did it might have been out of respect. If he said "Yeah, there was this annoying tourist, totally hated his guts... funny, actually, because the wolf seemed to think they were delicious." then it wouldn't have been George, I don't think. :) He's too nice.
missmossxx 2 years ago
Yeah, I was thinking that all through the video....
Maybe they were worried about the whole "hiking through Scotland with a friend - he got killed, now I'm a werewolf" was too much like "American Werewolf in London" to be safe.

I love the fact that the American was annoying! You know, stereotypes do (generally) exist for a reason.

I am amused that so many people have pointed out the tourist as being American and annoying. What about half the tourists we get in the USA that are haughty and pretentious as hell?
This is a good series regardless, and I think half of you fools are the children of brainwashed hippie idiots.

this is a comedy not the news chill
6Gizmo101 2 years ago
I realize it's a comedy, but perhaps if you noticed the comments of others, you would see that my comment is in response to everyone that believes that all Americans are over-reactive nitwit tourists. I think you need to read a few more of the older comments. Thanks!

george is so funny he acts so weak!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jamirflyd 2 years ago
My only criticism of this series is that they make George's condition out to be like its some kind of disability. Better would be if he could change any time he wanted to but absolutely had to at the full moon.
phrawgg2 2 years ago
This was fantastic!
Kind of saddening that my country's stereotype is so ridiculously annoying, though. :\ Glad not to fit into such a thing, I guess. I loved the clip though!
