dude i got a mxz 600ss ski doo sled and its motor is in a lot of jet skis jet skis need more torque the power u tard to move all the water through the jet, o and nice cart btw
@tcman306 jetski engines have alot of torque but no top end power. thats because they are under load all the time, so they need the torque for idle and low RPM operation.
@tcman306 you got it backwards. jet ski engines make alot of torque, but not alot of top end hp. thats because they are always under load and need to be able to rev up from idle without a clutch.
with the right clutch and gearing set up, it will be fine on a go kart. think about it, if it can push a 350lb jet ski through the water at 30mph imagine how fast it would be on land without all that water resistance and weight to slow it down.
@Turbojeep23 I have a Murray Explorer go kart and im putting a 580 rotax 2 cylinder 2 stroke on it. if i use a 30 series comet torque-a-verter drive with a 1:5 chain reduction coming from the driven pully to the axle, what kind of acceleration and speed would i be looking at?
Im looking at making a gokart aswell, only with a js300, what did you use for a gearbox? Thanks.

Yeah this thing doesn't sound like it's running right at all.

my dirt bike can go faster than that and it is a 70cc

You have to take n consideration its a jetski engine. Alot of horsepower but no torque. Its not meant to go on a gokart.
