For instant, I was on the public bus. There was a guy next to me. He asked me if I knew sign. I nodded. He started to talk about his problem with the bank. What kind of conversion is that? I don't even know this person! I don't share personal information with strangers.
And... It does make me feel uncomfortable when someone just put me on a spot. Whenever they saw me wearing hearing aids, they would ask me if I know sign language. I nodded and they get excited. Some of the conversions were misleading.
I know what you're trying to prove. It seems that we're placed into a hearing university. I dislike how anybody would assume that you're hearing and start talking to you. I was like.... "Whoa.. I didn't have my full attention on you. I am hard of hearing? What are you trying to ask?" Sometimes, they just turn around and don't want to deal with the "communication barrier." Many of us had to deal with that. I am more comfortable to make friends with people who knows sign language cuz it's easier.

yea thats true. if other ppl comes up to me "r u deaf?" i would feel stupid n say "yeah ofc" but in my mind i would say "im deaf, no wonder y im signing duh." well maybe some one is cola, but if they see me w hearing ppl or w family who can speak n im only one signing. "duh" but i say no comments anyways. also in my mind i would say "dont act like u never met deaf ppl before!" but im to nice to say it tho. i feel ya!! totally 100%!!

It seems like that Deaf woman lives in lonley world of many hearing people. She didnt want to be deprived of her own language, ASL that's why she wanna chat with someone like you. You shared a good example and this is something for us to assess and identify ourselves in Deaf and Hearing worlds. Are you proud to be a bi-cultural/bi-lingual person? If you do, then you have a great respect for both communities. Great video! =D

Aw me too. One time I saw one little boy and I came to him and i said, "Are you deaf?" The boy said no. I was like soo embarrassment and I wont do again lol..so good video =)
