Spirit and its pilots are done! They will not recover from this.. People do not feel sorry for the well paid pilots or the company whichs charges you for just about everything. I look forward to seeing the pilots on the unemployment lines for passing up a 30 % increase in pay and retirement.
Spirit is run by a dirtbag CEO (Baldanza) that numerous times has said that he does not care about customer service b/c as soon as we save them (the customer)a penny they will be back. He does not care about the quality of pilots hired here or keeping them happy or training them properly. I really hope there is a special lazy boy in hell for these CEO's that treat poeple like this to line their own pockets.
this was a long time ago tho, before in the summer of 2008, because of the economy in gasoline when the prices when up to four dollars a gallon every airline at this time was pretty much screwed, but now in 2009 every airline is usually at a steady point.
I flew this crummy airline in May 2007. There was no one at the check in desk 45 minutes before the flight so I couldn't get my boarding pass!! This was Memorial Day weekend. I was flying from SFO to Detroit. I was not allowed to board through security because the airport didn't even know how to reach Spirit Airlines. I ended up missing my flight and had to buy a one way ticket with another carrier leaving the next morning.
On my way back from my destination 3 days later, I learned that since I hadn't boarded the outbound flight, my returning flight had been automatically canceled. There were no refunds. Unbelievable. Again, I had to buy another one-way ticket back home this time with Spirit itself since no other airlines were headed back to SFO that day. SPIRIT AIR IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST AIRLINE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT FLYING WITH THEM.
Spirit is a good airline but they will probaly be better if they partnered with jetblue and had a merger with spirit's low fares and jetblue's customer service nothing could stand in the way!
yes i see what you are saying and I think it is very horrible that they think they have to use that kind of advertisement. But why is it that when Burger King or someone wants to advertise with a women provacitavely eating a hamburger nobody comments? But i agree with you, those advertisements are hanness and unneccesary.
I still think Spirit Airlines is a great airline, and now that the stocks are starting to go up. They might see that light at the end of the tunnel very soon.
I do NOT think I would fly Spirit any more. They have canceled our return flights more then 6 times so far and we still have 3 1/2 weeks left before we leave. They have every excuse except the truth !!
I still have future flights booked on this pathetic excuse for an airline. I carefully insured them all. As cruel as it might sound, it hope Spirit Airlines goes belly-up. ULCC definitely stands for Ultra Low Class Carrier.
Every experience I've had with Spirit has been a good one. I don't know why you feel that way. Spirit is the only airline that flies direct from Myrtle Beach to any Long Island airport. I live in Myrtle Beach but was born and raised on Long Island, so see'ing Spirit, or the La Guardia hub go would be a huge blow to my travel plans.
Well, it's definitely starting to happen. Spirit has discontinued 75% of its MCO/FLL routes, laid off some of its personnel at both MCO & FLL, and at least two travel insurance providers have now added Spirit to their list of delinquent carriers they will no longer insure. Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock.
Cutting 60 percent of its workforce and forty-five percent of its pilots? That spells major trouble -- much worse than the recent announcements from other carriers. Spirit Airlines has such horrible customer service that it's doubtful they'll be in business much longer -- ever try calling them? Well, get yourself a good book to read while you're on hold for two hours (that's if you're lucky enough to not get a busy signal).
