I found my own way to do it for windows and its not ipdl,may make a video on it problem is once you put it out there bbc works to stop you doing it and its took me a few months to find something that works.

I guess all it takes is for the BBC to tweak there website and these apps can stop working, go to the app blog and see if there is a problem at the minute, maybe theres updates on the way.

The downloader doesn’t work for me. It opens a box saying ‘There is no page for this programme. This probably means that the programme does not exist.’

I simply copied the full address of the video into programme ID, was that wrong?

I'm unsure of the problem, an alternative app what I recommend over this app is.. "iPlayer downloader" this app gets updated more by the developer than "iPlayer Grabber" I'll leave the link in the description, it may work better for you, does for me.

I've got a Mac and have downloaded the Grabber but when I click on a video I get a message telling me to download BBC's iplayer. If i do this, I then download into it as normal. any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Try and download something else, see if its just the football. And make sure you have the latest version of iPlayer grabber.

Hiya, downloaded fine, but when I try to download a program it says that 'no such file exists' or something 'which probably means the show is not available'. What does this mean please? I tried stuff that's on today and older stuff and I get the same message....

there few out there, I only use iPlayer Grabber, so I haven't tried the windows versions, but I would assume they're as good as this application, what I'll do Is PM you with the links, but like I said I haven't personally used them but hopefully they'll do the job for you.
