  • Птичку жалко(((((((

  • at least there testing for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the window didn't break and its just a test window :D

  • lol russian mythbusters

  • where the hell was this job when career day in high school was around?

  • in soviet russia plane attack bird

  • HA HA chickengun!!!

  • oh the feathers.... lols...

look like the bird explodes.. XD

  • that is my spud gun

  • What's getting certified here, the chicken gun or the aircraft? Coz that (piece of) aircraft looks awfully old.

  • @rolfen

I hope that you guys realize its the glass that is getting tested. Otherwise you are all idiots. Just saying.

  • @marick626 That's absolutely true.

  • @marick626 Why are you giving rolfen incorrect information... this is obviously a failed experiment to test the destructive force of chickens being launched at high velocity from prototype chicken gun.

  • @rolfen It was actually certification of the canopy and the glasses. The fuselage was really old, but it was just a basis for the canopy installation.

  • @rolfen do you really think that a brand new aircraft would be tested by throwing birds at it? lol

  • uhahuahuah BAAAAAAAM

  • lol

  • yes. they place seed for birds inside the cannon for a week before...

  • @AMGaLAN108

    wrong, they dead birds

  • Was that a real bird??

  • And a live one. In Russia they use live birds for testing because it shows better and more accurate results than a dead bird.

  • Thats really Cruel

  • A dead one, yes.

  • poor birdies dead

  • Russian sushi...

  • Poor bird... :-(

  • can the windshield wiper clean this meat while she flying ?

  • First thing is this that plane can hit a bird when it's landing because on 5 or more kilometres above the ground there is no birds and second is that the plane is flying much slower than is shown on this video so the bird will not hit the plane so hard.

  • but the plane is fly at a speed of over 150 MPH so combine the speed of the bird and the plane. that will come to a big number.

  • the speed of the bird doesn't matter the plane is so fast^^

  • @jasleil

you mean they fly to over 600 mph, and at that speed it doesn't matter that the bird flyies at 5 mph

  • @jasleil

you mean the plane fly over 300 mph (it could be faster but birds don't fly that high)

and a bird flying at 15mph, even 20, doesn't matter.

  • @ITHYANDEL Well, I don't care if you believe it or not. A bird can do a lot of damage.

  • @czarcio333 an aircraft landing usually is travelling at about 150 knots which is 277.8 km/h or (172.6 mph). Then, if the bid is travelling towards the aircraft at 30km/h (18.6 mph) that makes a total closing speed of 307km/h (190.7 mph). So thats already pretty damn fast! And anyway - 5km above the ground is still 16,000 feet - aircraft can be flying at 518.56 km/h below 16,000 feet... and then 450km/h at 5,000 feet which is only 1.5km...

  • russians

  • means shit all if u aim the launcher at the aliminimum and it puts a hole in it.

  • Haha looks like they tested it on one of Aeroflot's most modern planes. :P

  • fast fucking bird lol

  • Ryanair could use this machine to board their passengers! save some more turn around time :-)

  • Hahaha! What a fantastic idea! Lmao.

  • looks like the bird was traveling 100000 MPH

  • lmao

  • It was Road Runner. Finally Wile E. Coyote had his revenge.

  • LMAO!!

  • its about fucking time he got his revenge lmao

  • Road Runner

    hahahahahahah

    nice one

  • :)) there are kinda 1000 km/h in that bird's ass

  • hahahahahah

    thanks

  • its just a crashed plane under maintaindence.

    (homebuilt)

  • is the plane under construction? Looks like it's decades old...

  • they are just testing the window, so they use an old plane maybe to safe some money

  • What if they forget to thaw the chicken before the test? :)

  • now clean that dude, that's a big mess

  • just like mythbusters.

  • For the information А380 and В787 tested too in Russia and designed details

  • WOW That looks like it hurt! Hehe.

  • OK, where can I get me one of those chicken cannons?

  • lol yeah i wanna know to

  • lol. How do they test out their windshield? they blast it with a fucking chicken.

  • ummm wheres the windshield wipers?

  • Geeez, was the bird going super-sonic or are the russians getting a little more destructive?

  • yep thats some good glass right thur

  • Dude, we should totally use bird guns against the terrorists and shoot them at their buildings as sort of a mini-9/11.

  • and this is the time after you buy your new toy and say SHIT i shoud have goten the windshield cleaner package

  • chicken cannon from myth busters

  • russians..

  • Oh, the chicken cannon! I heard about this on on mythbusters.

  • he use real birds to this test

  • lol what a nice looking plane i hope it passes certification!!

  • backed.

  • They should have played a prank on someone and let them sit inside looking out the window.

  • What about a girl.

  • Ok Russian too know it..fow to test "window"

  • look in the sky!

    its a bird!

    its a plane!

    BAM! bye bye birdy

  • ma li cera un uccello vero?

  • I worked at a research lab where this type of birdstrike was simulated. The cannon can be compressed air or gun-powder. The projectile of choice was a gelatin dummy that had the same density of a chicken. I think the PETA people get real upset over real bird ammo. I do know that some actual bird shooting is done, however. I don't think that is a bad thing. The information about what happens to the beak and other hard parts of the bird is crucial for making planes safe and preserving lives.

  • i was just wondering what you studied if you worked in a research lab carrying out such simulations?

  • my guess would be aeronautical engineering

  • Yes, I was a mechanical engineering student working in an aerospace mechanics division of a research institute.

  • Birdiside

  • really, why do you say so?

  • I think that he meant that to make the plane safe for us the bird are being destory. I just don't get he comment.

  • lol that bird got pwned

  • ooooo that must've been nasty if it splattered everyhere...

  • Ruskies!

  • Omg. they used a real bird to test this

    simulation... NOES LOLOLOLOL... poor bird!

  • A dead chicken. There was an anecdote about it. The designers are shocked, the chicken shoots through the glass, the pilot's seat and the door behind. They write to those who sold them the "bird gun" asking what they do wrong. The answer is: "never use frosen chicken".

  • since when do birds fly that fast??

  • well the bird isnt the one who will be going fast, but the plane will definitely be flying fast

  • nevermind...

  • why cant some people get irony

  • lol super duck!

  • LOLZ!

  • the planes go that fast, the bird went fast cause the planes wasn't moving

  • Its only deep frosen chickens.

  • Yuck! Bird body parts everywhere.

  • poor birds...

  • Its a Antonov An-72. A russian high wing aircraft.

  • It's only a cockpit of An-72, certification is for another Antonov's aircraft - AN-140 .

  • those tests are not relevant because they dont take in account the wind blowing on the windshield at same time the bird hit

  • Bullshit. The power of the strike hasgot double capacty than the power of birds strike. my dad worke his whole life at mikoyan-gurevich (MIG). For those who saying that its bird: its sort of small ball. when i touchs te glass its weight around 230 kg:) Old aircraftssuch as TU-134 culd hndle only about 30.

  • what kind of rotten plane is that

  • best call autoglass, looks like you need a new screen

  • You can't you use frozen chickens or birds because when you are freezing something it becomes heavier thus you won't have an accurate test.

  • When you freeze something it doesn't become heavier. It becomes harder.

  • I think it becomes heavier and harder cause all water that freezes around stick him too

  • It will only become heavier if it is frozen as a block in a bucket of water or something. Otherwise just the liquid that is in the bird will freeze and the bird will remain the same weight. It is a physical change, not a chemical one.

  • thats why cold turkeys are bad!

  • Live budgies? El. Oh. El. I'd like to see a test of that.

  • They also use live budgies, which they fire in bundles of 30 to simulate a flock of small birds.

  • Why use mortars, when you can use frozen chickens!

  • are birds frozen when they fly high enought?

  • LOL )))

  • Chikens are shooted frozen, because they have to act as a bullet in that air compressed canon, and its harder for the glass to resist the hit. Im sure that chickens are frozen.

  • Don't say dumbs :)

  • they are frozen. You can also check it out on a documental show, in Nat Geo about bird strikes in planes. That was the first time I found out that chiken were shooted frozen. After that, in Toulosse (France), there is a comp that builds glasses for planes (airbus), and they do it in the same way. Compressed air and a frozen bird (chicken or whatever), but it has to weight at least 20kg.

  • Can a frozen bird fly?

  • It is killed juast before shooting. It must be warm as natural.

  • lol, those are live chickens aren't they? i know some guy who works for airbus and thats what they use.. apparently they have to be live for realism hehe what a joke
