  • Thanks for this great demo of this basic but wonderful sounding synth!

  • 1:42 SWEET JESUS OF IMPLAUSIBLE!!!!!!

  • the thing around 1:12 sounds familier

  • WANT @_@

  • So I'm trippin out, This synthesizer sounds WAY better than the new Little Phatty or Slim Phatty! I'd buy this synth instead ANYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE THIS AN MP3 SO I CAN LISTEN TO IT OVER AND OVER. :) excellent playin man + the sounds are just too good I mean its just giving me chills. thanks for the vid!

  • @pretentiouspigeon you can use an online youtube to mp3 converter!

Also what a great demo of the satellite, makes me wish I had one

  • Sweet vid, man. This other guy has a satellite video on youtube and the way he played it made me not want one but this vid changed my mind. Sweet sounds!

  • 2.00 Echoes!)))

  • the beginning sounds like Kraftwerk's Kristallo. nice synth!

  • is the opening sound on this generated by playing a string patch using sample and hold? it's gorgeous. all the sounds here remind me of my favorite albums from bbc radiophonic workshop to boards of canada, thank you for posting a great video of this very under rated synth .definitively analog.

  • What are those switches on the bottom? Are those for the presets?

  • Those are some very Pink Floydy sounds! I love the "vocal" one...

  • Hi! Can you tell me if the satellite moog gives priority to high or low notes?thanks frank

  • I used to have one years ago.

    They are so uniquely cool.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Great video... I have one of these in a box if anyone thinks they can resurrect it!

Bought it high school in 1976 spending every penny I had.

Spent countless hours doing things a lot like you are doing here (and drove my mom nuts!)

Around 1980, I lived near the MOOG factory in Buffalo so I bought a pitch bend wheel and wired it on (as an EE student at UB).

Always had Mini-moog envy and wished this one had a 2nd oscillator to get more buzz for solos.

    Great memories! Thanks!

  • First synth I tried in my life. I still remember how nervous I was. Incredible moment.

  • Einige Tangerine Dream Sounds erkennbar ...

  • HOLY SHIT!!!

For being a relic from the stone age this instrument has a few good sounds that I could use.

Maybe I'll have to start buying some stuff and making some music and doing some recording. And I'm 46 already.

  • Great fluty sounds at 1:30

  • I keep coming back to this video. some freaking gold in there! Where are you from? Don't happen to be around Melbourne Australia do ya?? :)

I want one of these! Love the Mellotron style sounds around 1:23. Mmmmm.

  • i have this synth had for tweny five years now i have changed the gate system to midi so i play it live through a keytar sounds cool

  • Yeah!!!

This one has a few good lead sounds.

    I'd buy one.

  • Great, 1:08 Boards Of Canada!

  • EXCELLENT!

  • what program is that on your computer?

  • @Zombi3Biscuit that's Wavelab, which records the audio signal in high quality - that what you are hearing.

  • @AnalogAudio1 but there must be some kind of extra delay on it.or does the moog has a deleay?

  • wow, this synth sounds good! I didnt expect such a smooth sound. Moog synthezisers are just out of this world, i wish i had a moog syntheziser.

  • limited? dang, the possibilities are unlimited!!!

  • Oh, sorry! I hadn´t realised you also had a SH-1000 video. Now I have. Both videos are really inspiring. Congrats, again.

  • Man, Congrats! It's amazing what you can achieve out of this rather limited, single oscillator, - and, now I realise, underrated - little monosynth. I've had a hard time trying to replace mi minimoog on stage, first with a Roland JP-8000, now broken, and now with an old and very satellite-like Roland SH-1000. Have you ever tried one of these? Cheers, mate.

  • sweet.

  • :50sec to :53sec.

  • It just goes to show you don't need 5 oscillators and fancy switches to make a synthesizer sound beautiful.

  • Love the DEP-5 aswell!!!! Sounds deeeep

  • Hi, I am hoping you can share how you hooked this up to your computer..great demonstration, Ive had this synth since 1983!

Sent you a few questions in a note, take a look.

  • oh a 7/4 riff because its from 1974? clever! 2:21

does this have a pitch bend from the slider perhaps?

  • no, It does not have a pitch bender or any "controllers" like a Minimoog. The sliders are actually the controllers. But not for the pitch.

  • Not only do these older synths sound great, they look great.

  • Despite what people say about that keyboard, its a kick ass one, and i want one badly!!

  • wow! im pleasently surprised at how beautiful this little synth sounds! I never thought something that basic would sound so good

  • what kind of effects are you using here? i hear reverb and delay, but is there anything else that's maybe not quite as obvious?

  • All you are hearing here is the Moog Satellite and a Roland DEP-5 effects processor.

  • @AnalogAudio1 Does the filter have any resonance or envelopes?

  • wish i could get mine going

    this sounds incredible

  • Excellent. Those old monosynths had a lot of character. I like this one particularly, maybe better than my korg 700s from the same period because there are a lot of wave forms and the filters are more extensive...do more it appears. Your playing is excellent...really shows off this little guy. Lovely looking instrument as well. I would buy one at the right price.

    Cheers, Sam

  • Hi Sam, thanks... I had once a Korg 700s and I can say that the 700s is a lot more flexible - also a great sounding synth. On the other side, the satellite has high quality hardware - massive wooden case and a great keyboard, which is a pleasure to play (the same as on the Minimoog).

    Cheers, Chris

  • oooooo a green and yellow keyboard!

  • even though its from the mid-70s i can hear the early 80s in it

  • Thank you. This brought back good childhood memories. I remember every lawn i mowed saving up for this synthesizer. It was worth every blade of grass.

reminds me of now. I have 3 digital keyboards in the basement that haven't been played in a while.

    Mostly the EPS 16+

    I love the effects processor.

  • :> yepp

  • Great demo! Nice little synth.

  • Question:what can do those keys under the keyboard?.

  • the tabs? There are tabs for routings, modulation, and so on... and presets (sounds).

  • Thanks!

  • Nice machine, cool demo. Thanks.

  • GREAT 1974 synth first one i've heard

  • Nice demo!

  • thanks!

  • Sound like old Berlin-school type sound. Very cool!

After such demos i think about buying analog synth.

  • insanely cool synth. very raw sound. nice demonstration as well

  • thanks... yes, it is a cool synth, I like it...

  • i like it too :)

  • WOW! Very cool synth.
