  • Yes, it is in"Popular Classics of the Great Composers" Arranged for the classical guitar by Jason Waldron, vol 1.

  • Hello There, Do you you have this TAB? I love this song...

  • Cool, I've actually never heard this pice performed on a guitar before. It was awesome!

  • Charming piece,very nice.

  • I wanted to learn this song on guitar but it's not nearly as dramatic as on the piano...

  • bravo, is exelent

  • thanks! nice of you to say so!

  • Aww man where did you find the standard notation? I don't know how to read it for guitar but I'll try JUST for this song =)

  • Comment removed

  • thanks, it is fun to play those classics you've heard all your life on a guitar!

  • I bet it was hell trying to play that on steel string like that. Bet you got sore fingers.

I only play bass electrics, so i can only imagin what It took to even get Raindrop to sound that good.

    Good work.

  • oh my gosh!

This was so well played, and such as the version on the piano, soo touching! Thanks a lot for this Video!

  • You did a very good job on this :P

  • dude this is so awesome can you give me the tab please?

  • sorry, I'm reading this from standard notation.

  • @gutplucker do u know where i could find the score

  • Simply perfect

  • thank you.

  • Yeah riiiight he "ruined" it, he altered the time so you cannot listen the original piano version from now on :/ Stop bitching about every little thing and go away.

  • Where did you find the tab for this ? I can't seem to find it lol...

  • check out 'popular classics of the great composers' by Jason Waldron, vol 1 p 46 &47

  • thats a nice job. i believe it s harder learning this on a guitar than a piano and i play both.

i dont understand some people s comments..why assimiling guitar with heavy metal????

music is beutiful why dont you enjoy!!!

(or maybe is it about jealousy or you dont even play any music instrument?)

  • I entirely agree! thanks for your comments.

  • @AmaoNoBolso Bah! this is a "piece" of cake for the piano, hehe :) but gitar, its very different, i mean its transcribing an instrument utilizing 10 fingers with 88 keys for an instrument with 6 strings.

  • Dude this is really cool.I've never thought of Raindrops being played on the guitar.

  • wie gewollt und nicht gekonnt.

Wer kein Klavier spielt, sollte dieses Stück in Ruhe lassen.

    Aber der Versuch an sich....ok.

    peace

  • hmm.. why not just enjoy music and not worry about this stuff? I think the arranger of this piece did a remarkable job in conveying the essence in just 6 strings!

  • Chopin is said to have said, the only thing more beautiful then the guitar is two guitars. he loved guitar, and i have heard he perhaps wrote a few peices for the guitar (although i have never been able to find them, at least not yet). there are some fabulous arrangements of Chopins pieces for guitar, including 19th century arrangements when he was still alive, notably, Polish guitarist Jan Bobrowicz, who perhaps met Chopin and had input from him when arranging his music to guitar.

  • Watching this video I now realise how much more superior an instrument the piano is. The piano really is the king of all instruments.

  • Try playing heavy metal on the piano...

  • I didn't say the guitar doesn't have it's preferred genres. Obviously heavy metal sounds better on the guitar, but heavy metal is crap anyway. Try playing raindrop prelude on guitar. Listen to the result.... Really poor compared to the equivalent on piano. I love the guitar. I have been playing it for 6 years. I'm just saying the piano is the superior instrument. And it is.

  • Sorry, guess I didn't have a good point. I can't even play the guitar anyways, only piano. But heavy metal DOES NOT SUCK! We all have our tastes.

  • Dammit, I answered with my other user, sorry.

  • Piano in general: better than guitar.

Piano in Rock, Heavy Metal, etc: worse than guitar. I still like the sound of a piano better, but in certain genres the guitar is easily better. In the above video however, it is not.

  • Heavy Metal is not crap.

  • Good God, what an unbelievably childish discussion! What is better, eating or drinking? Breathing or heartbeat? Guitar or piano?

The guitar has 6 strings so you are limited to playing 6 tones simultaneously opposed to 10 on the piano plus some more if you let them cling. On the other hand on the guitar you operate the strings directly giving you more possibilities to influence the sound and therefore a broader spectrum of expression.

You can extend that line: violins 4 strings even more expr.!

  • rhytm ! :)

  • In a parallel universe a hillbilly called Fred Chopin once sat down with his banjo and composed a very similar tune ;)

  • And that's awesome.

  • wow man that was great, but if you wouldn't mind ,could tell me ware I can find the cords for that. if you could "thanks"

  • excellent rendition. anyone who think creating such music is very much mistaken.

  • great!

  • wow very good playing! Im trying to learn this piece myself. Keep up the good work!

  • me too, but i've just headed straight for finger-picking that beefy bass riff (not featured here), that's where the money's at in IMO.

  • You're absolutely right. I have played a lot of these pieces. I think Bach would have loved the modern guitar!

  • its good for trying but this piece is definitely better on piano... just not meant for guitar

  • Sorry I didnt saw the comment above.

  • How much do your guitar cost? It sounds nice.

  • This is like standard tunning but the 6th cord is the only thing that changes right? Nice vid!

  • that's right, DADGBE

  • woww i can play this on piano but not on guitar :O greatt job

  • wow, how much did u pay for that guitar..., its a sant cruz right?

  • that's right, they're not cheap, but have a lovely tone. It is nice to play classical pieces on a steel string occasionally.

  • this was a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song

  • sry dude, but u should let it stay at the piano.

  • I agree.

You definatley are very skilled no doubt about it, but I just don't think that this song sounds very good on guitar..

    =/

  • i liked it =)

  • sez who?

  • mskerjanc that is completely incorrect. Barrios played steel strings. I play steel strings. I play this piece on steel strings and move audiences. Nylon is only one way, heh

  • i like it if only it had sheet music cuz i play the acoutic guitar :(

  • unbelievable man. i play this on piano and i can still respect the effort here. don't forget this one. i'd love to see it mastered and back up on here. so close to perfect. way to go!

  • stop, stop, STOP! ruining a beautiful piano piece! I was waiting to see how you handled the deeper, minor part, but thankfully you stopped before you got to it!

  • lol athedon, it's a good effort though, chopin doesn't ever lay well on the guitar :/ I've got an arrangement myself, which I can send an mp3 of if you want

  • the notes are good, but the playing is only decent... it's hard to believe that someone can transcribe this haha

  • please please can you send me the Tabs on a text of this song.. it is good... a couple of dead notes.... nees just a lil bit more of fluency.. heheh thats all.. please send me the tabs please..

  • I think it's good, especially since i've yet to see anyone else with the balls to try to play this on guitar. it needs work, sure, but at least he tried.

  • add me on this. I arranged this song today will post video soon. This arrangement is not taking advantage of certain sonic capabilities of the guitar. You'll see with my arrangement. Plus your choices for dominant 7th chords are very not chopin, it'd be better in fact to omit the 7th and play the 9th instead on MANY of these...

  • clean it a bit

  • You ever listen to people play it on the piano? Man, they don't even bother with a tempo. Free time is crap imo. But I agree this song needs a steady rhythm.

  • T'es presque la mon ami. Comme les autres disent, juste un peu plus de pratique et ce sera une performance excellente. Il n'y a pas beaucoup de gens qui peuvent joeur des chansons comme ca a la guitare alors courage car tu es special, toi.

  • Merci ! Vous etes très gentille !

  • practice it more till it's perfect

  • Needs cleaning up.
