The newest ace combat has a very good dogfight system and graphics but its storyline cannot compare to the storyline of unsung war like its fictional but its still very good and i feel the same way with number 6
"I've lost time and time again, but now...I've finally won." Beautiful lines, Ace Combat Five arguably has the greatest story of any game. Even though I've seen it half a dozen times, Chopper going down, and Hamilton's betrayal always tugs at my emotions, bringing me to sadness and anger respectively. But, peace was restored to the land, and that is what is important.
@OldeSmithProductions yes but chopper is dead and the damn belkans are responible for it.if just the reinforcment had arrived faster if the 8492nd squadron didn't recal them he would be alive :(
Nikanor=Gorbachev, and Vincent Harling=Reagan, the handshake thing bring back the memory when they met and discuss the fate of das Berlin wall and the cold war.
@Izkzmach exactly. in a way, the Ace Combat 5 and Zero plots tied together was sorta like World War II (Zero) and the Cold War (5). In a way, it's sorta the history of the real struggle between the USSR and USA, just condensed to like 15 years and using fictional countries. Ace Combat has been, is, and will remain to have the best storylines and quotes.
@UNpilot15 but with no nukes (Belka's nuke attack doesn't count) and no DEFCON words...so you can't really feel the mood of nuclear winter's threat that existed during the last days of cold war
i cant hold the tears in, my ship, the ship ive had considered my home and my shelter, was destroyd, and im watching it sink, in front of my eyes, unable to change anything
Ace Combat 5 was the best flying game of All time I miss landing on the kestral and hearin Captain Bartlett and Chopper always goin at it and how Nagase never gave up no matter how difficult the job was.
Maybe someday this will happen in the real world, once enemies united by one(or two)powerful speeches to fight on the battlefield for peace and tranquility.
@Soldierofdoom444 I reacted in a similar manner. I was like, "WTF?! So, iI flew my ass off protecting that ship and she ends up sinking anyway?! What a waste!
@SuperHornetPilot Yeah, but if you hadn't saved it, you'r ass would have been toasted by the 8492nd when you were flying those trainee planes that were unarmed. So in a way, saving the Kestral saved yourself.
wow...that speech was just so powerful. to bring what were once enemies back together to fight against the real people who stirred hatred between two countries that didnt really have anything against each other
Cutscene 25-26 get me every time. Especially after playing through Ace Combat 0 and seeing just how long she survived just to lose to a f'ing submarine just before the end. At least Kestral went down fighting instead of in a scrap yard.
Damn... I still get a knot in my throat during the sinking of the Kestrel and the Presidents speech and your unit flying off to battle!! Such a powerful game
Its hard to believe that the same game company that created Pac Man , Tekken , and Wangan Maximum tune create such Epicness to a game. Namco i admire you.
It had its frustrating moments, but to this day I still say this game was Awesome In A Can. And it had the greatest fucking soundtrack known to mankind.
If u guys notice that Ace Combat Zero and 5 are based on the Cold War. Belka being Germany, Yuketobania is Russia, and Ose is the United States. Belka or Germany basicaly declares war on the world. Osea and yuktobania Or the US and Russia's twin super powers defeat belka (germany). Then the cold war happens. But instead belka puts yukotobania and osea at war.
i agree with thecrushpanzer it is truely one of the most emotional moments in game history. and with the music it really turns it into a very emotional scene
its sad that you get betrayed during some point of the game, i didnt like that, rather be at sand island than being at a different place. very heartful scenes, its a shame that some yukes and oseans joins together with the belkans, that made me mad. still an awesome game.
Salute to your fallen aircraft carrier! May you sunk in peace! Man, that scene made me cry the first time I see it. And the captain and president's speech are just pure awesomeness, along with those planes from both sides. Man, this is the best game ever!
It is even more emotional than the titanic... I thought the titanic as a romantic comedy and this as a sadening action game but with more epicness than any other game I have played...
They would ave to make it into three parts for it to bee good though

I Still dont get how the kestrel sunk. I am pretty sure that the blast from the missiles were well above the waterline.
PinoyLabanFighter198 8 months ago
@PinoyLabanFighter198 Maybe the sheer force of the two anti-ship missiles blew the hull and that brought on some water?
WonkyTonkBotty 8 months ago
@PinoyLabanFighter198 it's whole generated from the blast like a mteor hitting the earth
this scene always brings me to tears and all choked up i love it if only wars were resolved like this there'd be no need for weapons

Victory, even on defeat. The Kestrel, and his captain achieve the final and more important goal to any aircraft carrier. Put the planes in the air.
Farewell Kestrel. Good job.

"Look, we launched them off safely. There's my victory. As long as they're in the air I haven't lost, and I know they will succeed."
Classic line. and this clip has good sound quality.
