The guy was right, criminals prefer an unarmed public, and love it when liberals try to abuse the bill of rights by not leting us defend ourselves. Criminals don't care about gun laws, they get guns anyway, and an unarmed public makes perfect victims. If a gunman enters your house, you can call 911 and they'll get there in time to take pictures of your body and the crime scene. The first response protection from criminals is YOU, not the cops, and I'd prefer to have a gun to level the field.

I am a constituent in Maymin's district and I have to say that I DID vote for him in 2006. However, sadly, in my liberal-ass district, I stood nearly alone with only 15% of the constituency voting pro-freedom. Its amazing how quick americans are to give up their rights

I was falling out of my seat when Shays said that. What a disappointment to hear a Governmnet Official start creating faux Rights for the Government. I thought (correctly) that Rights were for individuals, NOT the Federal Government. He's been in Washington way too long, and has made the dream (or shall I say the nightmare) a reality in his own consciouness.
