  • I love to hear shit like this. it shows all of us how we should work on our recording, and to think" this version sounds great. who would have thought to try to make it better. it sounds about perfect now. but they did make it better some how. but I love how raw this version is.

  • @thebluesrockers well said :)

  • This is my fav song from the Who...

    Smashing cover version..I loved it!!!!.......

    Beautiful lyrics..

  • As lovely as this is, the newer version with the orchestral backing absolutely kills me. Pete's brilliant either way though.

  • good point , but townshend should have had the balls to be more ruthless at times then in that case- personally i think roger sings this wonderfullly

  • great version, like it more than the original too, one of my only problems with the Who was that it felt Roger was acting the lyrics sometimes and not fully feeling them, you know?

  • what a gorgeous song

  • This Song is very nice, but i´m a limp bizkit fan, but i think this version is better....

  • Beautiful. This man is a legend. And I think he has a great voice.

  • When is someone going to be so kind as to make a video of, "Don't Make Me Real?"

  • i like this more than the studio version. i think that when the person who wrote the song plays it it sounds 239423094 times better

  • Let us say, this is a great demo and already a pearl of its own.

I agree with the master himself when he says: "The band later added a passion and a fire that really made it blossom from the sad song it appears to be here into the proud self expose it became on Who's Next."

  • I'm sure I'm the 10,000th person to ask this: Are there any whole albums/releases of Pete's demos? They're so pure & perfect, even as sketches. There's nothing like these raw ideas of what became anthems & Who staples.

  • there's a 2 CD set called SCOOPED. You can get it on Amazon for less than 5 bucks.

  • Sheer Genius

  • did all instruments by himslef in lifehouse album?

  • that's the brilliance of Pete's songwriting, they could play their songs 100 different ways and they would sound awesome. Love this version, but I keep waiting for Kieth to show up at the end :)

  • So Spanish - all flamenco and no blues. Yet Townshend is always unmistakeably English.

  • amazing!

  • Beautiful! I think Pete should have sung this on the final version instead of Roger.

  • i can't bee agree with you here. Roger is an way more skilled singer than Pete will ever be. I mean Pete sing beatiful and he can hit some very high notes, but there is way more kick and power in Roger's voice

  • Well Startlivin, we'll just have to agree to disagree! I just think there's something very cool and beautiful about Pete singing (as well as playing) solo all these songs that he wrote so obviously from the heart.

  • I know and i agree that Pete is a very talented man and all that, but i mean that Roger have a better voice (:

  • that's what i call real talent my friends....unlike the fuckin jonas brothers or something similar.....period

  • what a great song,it can only get better with time,

  • I like it better than the original too.

  • Amazing!

  • Nylon string guitar.

  • i downloaded this version, i thnk it sounds better acoustic than the radio version ii hear on the radio sometimes

  • do you have the Bargain one from Scoop?

  • yup

  • tiene sentimiento la cancion

  • Do you have more demos from Who's Next?

If so, don't hesitate to show them to us!

  • "more than original".... ?

    This is original :)

  • beautiful.
