  • Jacoby Ford is my favorite Raider because of his explosiveness and ability to change a game... Great job Clemson for shaping him into a beast WR!

  • You guys should see how confident jacoby is about his speed. in an interview he was even cocky about it, haha. he says he can out run anyone on the team. i believe him.

  • If you look at the Raiders draft history, they have taken 4 of the top 8 fastest 40-yard dash times ever recorded at the NFL Combine. Heyword-Bey, Ford, Routt and Fabian Washington. I like what I see in 2010!

  • Great going Ford. Thanks for helping us out! Hands are still inconsistent at times (in other games), but I like him as a kick returner!

  • jacoby ford runs like a ford

  • Jacoby Ford had a huuuuuuge game today

  • @texmexman I know, fuck you guys who thought he couldnt play!

  • speed doesnt matter

  • @deseanjackson1010 your name is desean jackson and you say speed doesnt matter?

  • lol spin move for no reason funny

  • gay ass music

  • @drutled well jacoby ran a faster 40 :)

  • Ford lost to Trindon Holiday of LSU, in the 100m NCAA Championships this past season. Which means Holiday was the fastest player in College Football :)

  • @dfrutled Ford beat Holiday at 60m Championship, better time at the 40 at the NFL combine : )

  • @dfrutled true that Holliday is fo sho the fastest person in college football, he would burn Ford

  • this man must have a turbo button. amazing!

  • haha at 1:08 the other guy gets laid out!! hahah and this guy will shine with the raiders!

  • Yeah Baby!

    Welcome to RAIDER NATION!

  • Holliday > Ford

  • all the speed on offense wow no one will be able to keep up in about 3 years.if we are lucky this year!! RAIDER NATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hardin84 they are all track stars like heyward bey-cant catch ... i would rather have a football player than a track star

  • @jrock8693 Ford is a football player, he just so happens to have world class speed as well.

  • He's a Raider and shall be our kick returner hopefully

  • good luck with the raiders , jacoby...!!

  • does he return kicks?

  • i sure hope the panthers get him. he would be a perfect replacement for steve smith

  • hes coming to carolina

  • Mock draft has him going to carolina. I would absolutely love that!

  • This guy clearly is a future raider. I'll be pissed if he's taken before the third round.

  • @lordseal92 Told you he was a future raider. But hey!! We took him AFTER the 3rd round. I'm happy!

  • @rollercoasterfweak We got in him in the 4th, which I like. Not a reach by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully he can lift our return game if nothing else! How you like the pick Rollercoasterfweak?

  • @Raiderman1988 Like it so far. Johnnie Lee Higgins will be cut though.

  • @rollercoasterfweak - why do u say that?

  • @rollercoasterfweak I am with you on that. Lets hope Jacoby can fill the void, and get us a special kick returner!

  • @rollercoasterfweak - you should be happy.

  • @blitzac2005 Higgins played very little. He isn't even our kick/punt returner anymore. Ford is going to take his spot.

  • @rollercoasterfweak u called it!! RAIDERS!!!!!

  • Redskins need this kid .

  • 1:09 that guy gets pasted.

  • @bigtallguy97 yup, yammed on

  • The cowboys need this guy.

We could use him as slot wr and kick and punt returner. Definetley two of the biggest among our team neads.

  • @OnlyKnives naw we already got kevin olgetree demaryius thomas would be a better fit

  • he look like steve smith kinda player

  • wont get out of second round now with a 4.28 40 at the combine.

  • naw he's not a 2nd round grade even with the 40 times he's was a 6 or 7th rounder he probably moved up to the late 3rd of early 4th.

  • @purdue2009 where do u get ur info from??

  • I would say he is a 3rd round guy. He reminds me a lot of Percy Harvin.

I don't see him getting out of Day 2.

  • @purdue2009 6 or 7th round what are you smoking, ford is not an elite but even before the combine he was going btw the 3 and 5th round

  • speed= future 1st round pick for the RAIDERS

  • hahah yes mr.davis must be keeping a eye on him and taylor mays...haden must have dissapointed him.....raiders need ol or cb...with the raiders you may never know

  • which equals a bad career :(

  • @icecru2 thats why he aint going to the raiders.

  • @lordseal92 dont u look stupid right about now

  • @lordseal92 u clearly have a future on ESPN... hahahaha

  • @lordseal92 fail

  • @nateoak10 yeszir

  • @lordseal92 are you sure about that. He is a Raider in the 4th. He will be the the PR/KR watch and see!

  • @silverandblack68 i think his gonna be good in kr pr with his speed he can be and his versitale

  • @Dyn4stY93 NICE PREDICTION, DID YOU NAIL IT BTW? GO RAIDERS!

  • @Dyn4stY93 Not this year.

  • @Dyn4stY93 hell yesss..we got this guy for a 4th

  • @Dyn4stY93 your right he is a RAIDER but in the 4th! round!

  • @albertoyen19 YESSSS i feel like magical...then again its the raiders were talking about haha.

  • Idc about whos faster on or off the field when it comes to him or Trinon. I just know that both are blazing fast and if Ford is still on the board in the 3rd round id want my Giants to draft him because he can help out the offense.

  • @Freshja14 The giants need alot of help it would seem after they way yall crumbled at the end there...

  • how about to solve the holliday/ford whos faster argment, lets just leave it that they both are blazing fast

  • @bzrkur true, but Ford is definitely the better player.

  • @lordseal92 yeah, our sucky ass off. cordinator wasted him

  • players EVER! Carl Lewis one of the best sprinters EVER, BUT sucks in the 60m, which equivalates to the "BURST" a fb players need to even put on the afterburners...he'd get tackled before he even had time to get to the speed that no doubt he'd begin to runaway from everyone, but by that time some of these 4.2-4.3 db's would have tackled...YOUR VOCABULARY IS IMPRESSIVE BUT YOUR POINTS ARE JUST THAT "HOT AIR"!!!

  • ...dont tell the true ending! I wonder if Holiday would've performed on the track as he did if he experienced as much wear & tear as Ford??? Bottomline is your perspective isnt even what you think it is...you say its non bias and objective, but its not, your perspective is subjective to your limited experience and comprehension of a tangible reality...SPEED!!! Track speed vs Football speed. Deion Sanders would get his socks blown off on a national track, but is one of the fastest FOOTBALL...

  • Lastly, I've never once said my perspective is non biased and objective, perspective in it of itself is a BIAS. Perspective is an individualized subjective outlook or view on something. Thank you for defining it, but that means absolutely nothing and couldnt be more unrelated to the discussion at hand. The only thing I've ever maintained is being unbiased and objective in my process of evaluation, which isnt skewed BY my perspective.

  • So when youre ready to stop putting words in my comments and projecting these distorted perspectives into my own for your own convenience, as some desperate attempt to fabricate and justify your completely off-topic and unsubstantiated polemics, then we can continue this dialog. You know when youre ready to stop pulling premises out of context and manipulating them to look as if youre actually invalidating what someone else said.

  • Oh and next time you come at me with an argument try to lose all the hypotheticals and the logical fallacies. And it wouldn't hurt to brush up on your facts, start by looking up what it one actually is... not If Ford doesnt pull his hammy, he pulls away from Holliday. FACT! (No thats not a fact, even IF it were true. FACT!). Sorry, but you kind of missed the basket on this one. Nice try, thanks for playing, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME.

  • OKAY Professor..i jus realized...you definietly have NO LIFE!!! I missed the 1996 Olympic Trials in the 400IH by .48, I have a W.A.C. Championship ring w/Fresno State from 1999, and im a coach of the CA Co-State Champion Track Team and have my own business...So pardon me if i dont by all of super analytical quantitative babble from someone who EVADES THE REALITY OF NEVER PARTICIPATING IN EITHER SPORT TO KNOW, EXPERIENCE, REALIZE, TANGIBLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO SPORTS(in regards to speed)!!!

  • Heres an idea...go PLAY football & run track and stop reading about...you know people learn more by doing than just OBSERVING and formulating intellectual hypothesis!!! Now dont get me wrong Im all for educating oneself, working on my L.C.S.W., but at some point philosphy & theory & analysis & BLAH BLAH DOESNT MEAN CRAP!!! Most track guys are great in a straight line...who the heck runs in a straight line on the football field??? Desean Jackson blows by db's who've clocked sub 4.3s and faster...

  • He's never been a track guy; Jerry Rice (in his PRIME) beat Deion Sanders deep more than any other player and when running longer than 25 yards with the ball has only been caught 11 times from behind IN HIS CAREER!!!! YET HE'S NEVER CLOCKED FASTER THAN A 4.5 40 yd dash. EXPLAIN THAT GENUIS! Oh you cant you know why because football isnt as SCIENTIFIC as you think. On a personal note: Are like Schezo or BiPolar, cause I just cant believe you speak to people like this everyday...and they listen

  • Im not tryin to be funny either, because im hoping you have like some alterego goin on which would be ok cause none of us have to deal with you everyday, but i assume you dont "DIALOG" w/your family this way AND I KNOW YOU DONT HAVE A GIRLFRIEND cause your spending way too much time EDUCATING yourself on all this meaningless junk that doesnt enhance or pay you one bit!!!! But i guess everyone's got an outlet.

  • So, in summary & conclusion your basing your perspective of theses players FOOTBALL SPEED on their TRACK accolades...umm...you might sell your "ear candy" to someone who doesnt KNOW & UNDERSTAND both sports, aint gonna happen here buddy. You'd make a great mob attorney skewing & smearing the reality with "FANCY WORDS" in order to try & prove something you have NO TANGIBLE CONCEPT about . Ford & Holiday are exceptionally fast football players agreed YOU nor anyone else can say whose fastest BUT

  • Because there's too many variables to take into account, LIKE THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE YOU IGNORED "WEAR & TEAR". Oh yeah you dont know how that effects an athlete because YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED DIV 1 FB and then weeks later strap on spikes; so Fords exposure to more than DOUBLE the physical punishment & abuse didnt factor into his track performance? In which your basing your whole argument in the first place. It would've been better for you to just say based the frequency, distance, & result of

  • each time they break for a 40+ yd run whose faster...did they break angles, get caught, run away from people something PERTAINING TO FOOTBALL MAN! Than i would've respected your perspective and CONSEQUENTLY if you based it on that FORD would be #1...a thought if Holiday's so fast why doesnt he lead the nation 40+ yd runs, yardage, td's?? I mean a guy who can run 10 FLAT 100m!!! but cant runaway or around FOOTBALL PLAYERS??? Hey Geekboy NEWSFLASH...BECAUSE HES NOT THE FASTEST FOOTBALL PLAYER!!!

  • HE'S THE FASTEST TRACK GUY PLAYING FOOTBALL, BUT WTH GOOD IS THAT IF HE DOESNT RUN FOR LONG TOUCHDOWNS...WHICH LEADS TO THE NEXT QUESTION WHY THE HECK ARE MAKING A VIDEO ABOUT FAST FOOTBALL PLAYERS when the value of the speed is to outrun your opponent and score on THE FOOTBALL FIELD NOT THE FINISH LINE OF THE TRACK! I understand now you just needed a venue to let your alterego out and sound intelligent, well let this be a lesson to ALL NERDS & GEEKS...ITS FOOTBALL NOT ALGORITHMS!!! STAY OUT!!!

  • ...as was made evident w/Ford pulling up in the 100m finals...LISTEN PROFESSOR...I've ran high level track all my life & now coach...IF FORD DOESNT PULL HIS HAMMY, HE PULLS AWAY FROM HOLIDAY, FACT! Everyone of their races Holiday gets out on Ford, but Ford catches back up, in the 100m finals @ 60m they were tied! Ford would've done what he has ALWAYS done & pulled away, but the injury! So if you're whole argument is based on track performance please dont use that race's results because they...

  • "IF FORD DOESNT PULL HIS HAMMY, HE PULLS AWAY FROM HOLIDAY, FACT!"

This is about as factual as you claiming Bo Jackson ran a 10.08 100m and won the SEC championships on the other video. Let's clear this up, THAT is a hypothetical, hypotheticals are NOT facts, they assume something to true. Facts are proven statements, whose support is NOT rooted in assumption. Regardless, Ford NEVER pulls away from Holliday over 60m. Have you not followed their collegiate track careers at all?

  • Holliday has ALWAYS been stronger than Ford at the end of his acceleration/maintenance phases. Dont believe me? How about this:

He's NEVER LOST a race to Ford in the 100m, he qualified for the '08 Olympic Trials and Ford didn't, this past outdoor season Holliday not Ford held the collegiate nation-leading mark in the 100m for the entirety of the season. Holliday has advanced to and medaled in the NCAA 100m finals 3 years in the row (Fords never medaled and advanced to the finals

  • only ONCE), HOLLIDAY IN 3 SEASONS HAS RUN BELOW 10.2 25 TIMES COMPARED TO FORD ONLY TWICE. Oh yea or the simple fact that out of 5 head-to-head 100m heats HOLLIDAY HAS BEATEN FORD ALL 5 TIMES. If one heat isnt conclusive enough, no worries there were 5. And youve shown numerous times that what you interpret to be fact, is what I believe other people call bullshit. So, no your hypothetical prediction, I mean fact, isnt pragmatic and completely defies not only logic, but history as well.

  • ford has a better start wacth their 60m

  • MAYBE THAT RACE, BUT THE FIRST 40m is Holiday's trademark, which makes since being 5'6" I'd expect him to be able to more explosive and stay in his drive phase better. Which is why most people were surprised Ford beat Holiday in the shorter race (60m).

  • In addition, the 60m is the only race that relative to FOOTBALL requires both elements of POWER=Strength:Weight ratio AND Speed=Stride length&Frequency===SPEED!!!! Very simple....longer than a 40 yd dash & BUT realisticly shorter than a 100m.

Now, in reference to Holiday vs Ford I would've expected someone as insightful & informed as you to take in some considerable variables...1. Ford is an EVERYDOWN player, Holiday is not!

    2. That's significant because of "wear & tear"....

  • thenextreggie, YOU CAN NOT GAUGE FOOTBALL FROM THE 100M, ALONE! THE 60M IS THE BEST FOOTBALL SPEED MEASUREMENT, PERIOD! Its the ONLY legally automated timed event between the 40 yd dash (34m) & the 100m (110 yd), IN WHICH MUST LONG TD OCCUR W/IN A 60-80yd DISTANCE!!! A sprinter like Carl Lewis would be an "Exceptional" fb player according to your non bias factual perspective, BUT thats WRONG! Carl Lewis would suck @ fb because needs a FULL 110 yd just to get to his amazing 9.8 100m time!!!

  • Ford is a better player, but holliday is faster. Ford is a great 60m sprinter but holliday has had the best track career and seems faster on the field. Its really close though holliday, ford, and spiller they are all amazing.

  • jacoby ford aint nowhere closeto fastest college football player trindon holliday is way faster on a track and gridiron

  • Jacoby beat him in the 60m Championship look it up, and holliday is nowhere near the WR jacoby is.

  • your right lordseal, Jacoby Ford was technically "the fastest" college football player this year...he beat trindon holliday and trindon holliday beat guys like jeff demps of florida and mike rogers..so i think theyre all pretty close but ford's record is undeniable on paper

  • Ted Ginn Jr. and Desean Jackson are faster than Ford on the football field. Ford will beat them in a foot race on a track, but pure football speed... Ginn and Jackson have them ALL covered.

  • dont know about that...

  • Thank you I appreciate this video

  • Most People don't know about him and say that he'll be a 4th or 5th round pick but he's an incredible player... with insane Straight line Speed(Faster that CJ)

but he can't cut like CJ can... I heard Jacoby ran a 4.16 40 at some olympic trial....no one could catch him from behind..

  • I've heard hes gotten times in the 3.9s. But thats just rumors...

  • WOW! that's incredible

  • If it's true, yeah, it be completely insane. Hopefully hes making the right move with football and not going with track

  • Jacoby Ford was never at the 2008 Olympic Trials. The only collegiate football players competing were Trindon Holliday out of LSU, Jeffery Demps out of Florida, Michael Ray Garvin out of FSU, and Jeshua Anderson out of Washington State. In addtion , they don't time the 40 yard dash at the trials, nor is the race even recognized by the IAAF or any other track and field authority.

Jacoby is rumored to have run a 4.126, while in prep school at Cardinal Newman.

  • i heard he ran a 3.9 at Clemson during some practice. Jacoby is faster then all 4 of them anyways.

  • Jacoby is very fast in his own right, but there's no legitimacy to any claim of him running 3.9, I've also heard the time referenced, always without encompassing evidence. As far as Jacoby being faster, it's relative to the race. Ford has never beaten Holliday in the 100m or Garvin in the 200m. He's never raced Demps or Jeshua Anderson, who's a hurdler, to say he's flat out faster than all four is completely naive and vague.

  • Hes beaten Holliday in the 60m Championship, and I believe Garvin was there. To even compare Anderson and Demps is stupid.

  • Holliday's beaten him at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100m, two years in a row now. As I said before it's relative to the race. And you'll probably complain Jacoby pulled up this year, but it's still irrelevant because earlier Holliday ran him down on the final leg of the 4x100, despite being 3-4 meters behind at the pass. He also beat him at the 2008 NCAA Outdoors in the 100m by .15s. Garvin's also beat him at the '07 NCAA East Regionals in the 200m.

  • And it you're right it would be stupid to compare Anderson and Demps to Ford because they've never race. Ford and Anderson don't even run the same event, Anderson would likely destroy Ford in a 400m, Ford would turn around and beat him in a 60m or a 100m. Yes Jacoby is faster in the 60m, Holliday's faster in the 100m, Garvin in the 200m and Anderson in the 400m/400m HH. No one's completely faster is dependent on the race and the distance.

  • you're talking about WAY to many types of races here dude. There is such a big difference from the 100m and 400m, let alone 60m and 100m. All im saying, is Jacoby is the fastest from 60 down, and if he can beat any1 60m, on a football field few can keep up.

  • That was the whole point, your first response to me was "he's faster then all 4 of them anyways" and not Jacoby is faster than all 4 only over 60m or less. It's only later when you tried to use the 60m as support of that statement that you specified which race.

I've said from the beginning whether or not he's faster is RELATIVE TO THE RACE being run. To say he's faster without specification to what distance not only vague, it's also inaccurate.

  • ughh man, ur a bummer.....

  • I'm a bummer because I actually expect legitimacy out of an argument? Okay...

  • legitimacy? u just not being optimistic, u obviously arent a fan of Jacoby, or have some problem with him, because he is clearly the faster then those 4 on a football field. U NEVER have to run 400 yards on a football field, and only seldom do you run 100 yards. Thats my point, on a football field, and the distances you need to run, nobody can beat Jacoby, understand?

  • Actually I am a fan of Jacoby, I have no problems with him what-so-ever he's been one of my more liked players in college football. What I'm not a fan of is biased Clemson fans that throw all objectivity out of the window when comparing speed just because Jacoby is on their favorite team's roster. You confirm that when you say he is somehow "clearly" faster than all 4 on a football field? That's one of the most asinine things I've ever heard.

  • We're talking about guys that are separated by ONE-HUNDREDTH of a second difference in the 100m, Ford and Holliday were separated by 3 ONE-HUNDRETHS in the 60m dash and that's supposed to be unambiguous and conclusive? So Ford would cover 60m on a field 27.6 centimeters before Holliday and you say that's CLEARLY faster? I'm sorry do you have a radar gun implanted in your corneas because for most people 27.6 cm is a pretty hard distance to distinguish especially over a computer screen or a tv.

  • Understand? Yes, I understand. You leave vague unsupported "points" and when someone responds to you questioning them you start changing your premise and re-establishing your argument in a desperate attempt to prove it. Then try to add little things after the fact like "only over 60m" or by randomly changing from talking about track distances to what's relevant for football. You've contradicted yourself and changed your "point" so many times in an attempt to prove it that you do lack legitimacy.

  • That IS what ive been saying the whole time, ughh, whatever u win, all though i dont really get what u want from this. Seeing your vids, u obviously believe Trindon is faster then Ford, but was it worth like 7 comments of discarding whatever I said to get there? U should look into some law studies bro, because you pretty much just shut me down that whole time.

  • dude he couldve gone if he wanted. Ford is a football player running track. guys like trindon and demps are track athletes playing football, and theres a HUGE difference

  • Actually no he couldn't have gone and he did want to. I like the excuse, but Jacoby Ford in 2008 didn't qualify for the preliminary round of the US Olympic trials, Holliday and Demps did. It's nice that you speciously try to spin it like Ford was somehow more concerned with football, so he chose to conscientiously opt out of going, but that definitely was not the case. Kendall Stevens was the very last seed in qualifying rounds, Ford's qualifying time that year was still slower.

  • As far as the ridiculous assertion that Demps and Holliday are track athletes playing football and Jacoby is the commendable antithesis all 3 are football players that are secondarily track athletes. All 3 signed and accepted football scholarships, despite having the opportunity to take full rides as track athletes. And Demps' was actually the most coveted and acclaimed recruit of the 3 and in two years has over double the yardage Ford or Holliday had in their freshman and sophomore seasons.

  • god i hate you, you just talk and talk and talk and when you actually read it, it makes no sense.

  • Lol, you hate me? Why because I have a differing point of view and don't blindly accept your clumsy attempts at argument as correct, without pointing out obvious errors and inconsistencies in your logic?

And what doesn't make sense? I responded clearly and coherently to TP4he1sman who replying to me. If you have a capacity to interpret the English language, which I'm starting to doubt, there shouldn't be anything in those last two comments or the ones preceding them, that "doesn't make sense".

  • no, you dont have a different point of view, just a different mind set. U arent listening to anyone but yourself, when you are clearly just sugar coating ur strange hatred of jacoby ford with excess information and fancy wording.

  • For once you've said something that has some validity. In addition to having a different point of view on this subject, I do have a different mindset -- from yours that is. I actually seek to interpret and present truth, as opposed to only acknowledging that which is convenient to my own pre-existing individualized prejudices. Yours is one clouded by such an extreme bias toward anything orange and purple, that you interpret even the most objective and impartial analysis immediately as "hatred".

  • I'm sorry I'm not a Clemson fan and don't glorify Jacoby Ford in the manner in which you do, however, that hardly is enough to indicate something as strong as hatred. As far as presenting "excessive information" and "fancy wording", I type what I feel is necessary to convey and SUPPORT my point of view as precisely and coherently as possible. It appears to be something you clearly have no grasp off, which explains the miscommunication and reciprocating animosity and confusion on your part.

  • To help you understand: Yes I am a Clemson fan, but I dont worship anyone who plays for them. The only reason I continue to argue with you, is because I'm confused at why you continue to come back to my video. Jacoby Ford is a great player, with incredible speed and no doubt the fastest player, as of right now, on the football field. Everyone else you have named is fastm but on the football field lacks Jacoby's speed and skill set. That is all, hopefully this will help you out.

  • I came back to this video because TP4he1sman responded to a comment I left earlier. His comment, directed toward myself, presented inaccurate information that I chose to address. I left a comment directed toward him that you in turn respond to, thus perpetuating this ongoing dialog.

There was absolutely no motivation for me to continue conversing with you, as you haven't presented a new perspective or any supported information in the last 4-5 responses I've read.

  • However, because you responded to me, when I had no intention of continuing a conversation with you, I did respond back. Especially when you went as far as saying "that you hated me" and unjustifiably accused me of hating Jacoby Ford.

And to help YOU understand, because it's you that's in need of clarification, the only objections I ever had weren't aimed at Jacoby Ford but at your responses. It was the speciously conclusive, narrow-minded, and underlyingly pretentious nature that I had a...

  • ...problem with. That and the blatant disregard for argumentative structure and sequencing.

I've explicitly made certain to be as neutral as possible, never favoring one player in particular, while presenting an accurate and substantiated point of view. You on the other hand have a obvious predisposed predilection toward Ford, whether you acknowledge it or not. It's evident in the senseless, brazen, and hyperbolical comments you leave like

"faster then all 4 of them anyways"

  • "CLEARLY faster then those 4 on football field"

"NOWHERE NEAR the receiver Jacoby is"

    "NO DOUBT the fastest player"

If you haven't noticed your comments, despite being unsupported 90% of the time, are much more extreme and one-sided than those I've posted. Like "no doubt the fastest player". There is doubt, in fact, it's all over this video's comment section. One person thinks Holliday's faster another thinks Ford lacks "football speed", someone else said they think Ginn and Desean are faster.

  • It's a controversial, debatable topic, doubt is an inevitably.

See the difference between you and I, besides your obvious bias, the unsubstantiated points, and your obliviousness to constructing a proper argument, is that while we have differing opinions and while I think Holliday is faster, and I've seen a lot of substantiated evidence indicating so, that I would never IGNORANTLY take a position like "Holliday is without a doubt WAY faster than Ford" or some similarly extreme stance...

  • ...Because I know that speed in it of itself is subjective as is "talent" and it's definition can be ambiguous. In addition I'm not nearly narrow-minded nor prejudice enough to ignore that. It's why from the beginning of this conversation I've said neutral, yet valid things like "the fastest player is relative to the race" and is subjective based on what distance your acknowledging. You on the other hand have his polarized black and white view that Jacoby is WAY faster, WAY better, WAY more...

  • ...talented, etc. It isn't THAT black and white there is gray area, which we've seen in these discussions. To not even acknowledge that is just stupid, I won't describe it any other way in risk of being accused of "fancy" word choice. And I know you'll complain these last few comments were too long and most of it will go over your head, but I've touched on everything, responded to every point, accusation, and misconception that I've read. Hopefully that'll create some understanding, I doubt it.

  • So here u are again Mr. Professor! I have a clinical therapy background so i kinda dont mind all the fancy verbage, BUT this is YOUTUBE DUDE and were talkin & watchin FOOTBALL!! I think you're goin a lil overboard w/the ANALYSIS GIG! Bottomline...NOTHING U SAY IS VALID OR RELATIVE because you've obviously never ran or played @ the the Div 1 level otherwise you'd KNOW what someone means when they say someones a TRACK GUY vs FOOTBALL GUY...I DID BOTH @ FRESNO STATE! And theres a CLEAR DIFFERENCE

  • Actually all of what I said was valid and none of it was relative because everything was definite. Some of the comments themselves touched on how the evaluation of speed can be relative, which is also valid and which you yourself have already validated when you talked about speed being relative to football. In fact that in itself unsubstantiates your assertion that "nothing I said was valid". Because not only was that premise extremely valid but you even further supported and developed it.

  • Another thing is your ridiculous completely self-serving point (we get it you're a coach and ran track at the D-I level) that you need direct first-hand experience to form valid arguments. That's not true in the slightest, anyone can collect and analyze empirical data and present it in a manner that is supported and coherent as to be valid. You don't have to be a politician to make a valid critique on politics, nor does a historian have to have lived in the time period in which they're...

  • ...studying to present valid research. And just because you have actual direct experience to draw upon doesn't mean you're well-versed on logical validity and deductive inference, which you clearly aren't. Seeing as how you're using the word "valid" in a manner that is completely incongruous with its definition as it pertains to argument. Regardless, I'm not about to brief you on logic, logical form, validity, syllogism, and deductive inference so I'll move on.

  • There's obviously a misunderstanding here, you've taken much of the information I've presented, and some that I haven't, completely out of context and are now preceding to dismantle this non-existent point-of-view which you've created in your own mind and assumed I possed. Let me make this perfectly clear:

I'VE NEVER ONCE HELD THE POSITION THAT THE 100M IS THE BEST GAUGE OF SPEED RELATIVE TO FOOTBALL OR THAT FOOTBALL SPEED AND TRACK SPEED ARE SOMEHOW EQUIVALENT.

  • That being said half of your comments are completely and utterly irrelevant. Youve taken a position and began rambling on against a perceived viewpoint that was never presented. As far as taking into consideration wear & tear, one its completely irrelevant as we cant go back and undo the damage Ford or Holliday have sustained and its something all athletes have to live with. Secondly, your perspective on wear and tear is much too overly-simplistic. If you actually tally up the number of

  • touches each player has had in 4 seasons youll find that theyre fairly close, about 60 or more for Ford than Holliday, which relative to their totals is about 15% less for Holliday in 4 seasons. Significant nonetheless, I myself am surprised that someone as heedful of those monumentally influential variables didnt consider the difference in size between them and that at 55 the average tackle on Holliday relative to his diminutive stature is considerably more forceful on his body. Im also

  • shocked you failed to acknowledge the difference in conferences. Holliday plays in what is commonly regarded as the most physical in all of college football. Or how about the fact that Holliday plays a position that intrinsically is more vulnerable? Its no secret that the running back position has essentially the shortest life-span in football and 115 of Hollidays 253 career touches came as rushes. So while you do pose an extremely important question, that has no impact what-so-ever

  • on what is indeed reality, let us examine for a minute if Holliday did have as much wear & tear as Ford. I certainly cant precisely quantify how the times would change, but theres no doubt Holliday would at least be in the 9.9 range -- if not lower. Maybe we should also suppose how much faster Holliday wouldve been if he were 4 inches taller or Ford 4 inches shorter. All very good points, I see where you were going with that though, Holliday probably couldve been a lot faster.

  • Dude, what are you doing? i made the reference of wear & tear more for Ford than Holiday. Ford runs fly sweeps, reverses, both return teams and is in on EVERY OFFENSE PLAY catching balls over the middle blocking down field for Spiller...Holiday wasnt doing any of that! So the wear & tear variable badge goes to Ford...IMAGINE HOW FAST HE'D BE ON THE TRACK? So youre still acknowledge the reality yet unh? Realitivity is important in the GAME of FOOTBALL maybe not in your quantitative world thought

  • I've already taken into consideration his size but it doesnt matter because if he was a faster FOOTBALL PLAYER he wouldnt have to worry about the damage cause he wouldnt get tackled as much DUH! Im a Gator Fan so im fully aware of the differences of the conferences, but the ACC still has some serious defenders in it. I promise you, you wouldnt chose to take hits from anyone on Miami, FSU or VT than any other team!

  • Im not makin excuses for Ford, but he definitely accrued more abuse than Holiday last season. I just realized something to solve this argument... FACTS: HOW MANY LONG TD RUNS OR CATCHES DID HOLIDAY HAVE VS FORD? AAANNNNDDDD....FORD HAS CJ FIRST ROUND DRIFT PICK EASILY TOP 8 FASTEST FOOTBALL PLAYER TO SHARE THE BALL WITH AND FORD'S #'s ARE STILL BETTER THAN HOLIDAYS AND THE 2nd FASTEST GUY @ LSU ISNT EVEN ON OFFENSE LET ALONE ON THE FIELD W/HIM & HE STILL DIDNT HAVE MORE LONG TD's THAN FORD!!!!

  • Dats stupid Holliday ain't even on da field as much as Ford. No shit he b havin more long plays and LSU have more playmakers LaFafell, Scott, Williams, Randle, Shepard, Toliver, and Dixon. IT dont matter cuz Demps da fastest 10.01 as a 18 yr old, then Holliday. ACC slow as shit anyway and Ford has bad football speed he super slow out of cuts.
