  • I would have parachuted done if one was available and not risk becoming a fire ball

  • A true Hero in every meaning of the word!

  • LOL Plane sex.

  • Macgyver hasn't got shit this guy!

  • amazing yes....I am amazed people even believe this story..ha...ha..

  • @clnmyjts - It's real, documented news, man.

  • Guardian angels are real and have real power to manipulate events for people worth saving.

  • @1emanres - Never attribute to angels what can be adequately explained by good piloting skills and a cool head.

  • I highly doubt the claim, what was he climbing back and forth during the landing?

  • another brilliant aussie

  • WTF!!!!

  • It's just too bizarre...

  • Nothing short of a miracle.

  • bomberguy, love your stuff!!! Please keep it up!

  • Did he pull back on the bikes handle bars to go over the bus ??

  • So hang on a mo!!! He used the controls of the top plane, and the engiens of the lower plane !!! How did he do that?

  • @leighash69 maybe juggled the power on his own plane using the combined wight and drag to slow down/descend while actually flying using his own stick, the bottom planes engines providing glide power for the landing? thats what i imagine cause he couldnt have been climbing between planes or patched up a link between his controls and that of the other plane while inflight.

  • my son this is how planes are made

  • @pingsdk hahaha yeah dad! plane sex! woohoo!

  • You didnt bang your head very hard as the two vehicles iner locked by any chance,,,?he he he

  • this is really unbelievable

  • sombody hates parachutes

  • @datzfast that is what I was thinking.. this is such a stupid idea.. he is lucky to be alive an tell the tale

  • i say, bring them in the garage they will be right as rain tomorrow

  • @megarouge61 wrong

  • Damn hitchhikers. They're everywhere.

  • how the hell did he control the lower planes engines?

  • @paulspydar he dident :)

  • @berowra interesting I would really like to read more about this about how he controlled airspeed & a few other things, pretty amazing, Typical though after surviving this he gets killed by a Bus when out riding his bike! Talk about sods law..

  • @paulspydar he had no control of the engines he belly landed so the props broke by the looks of it

  • @paulspydar I was wondering that myself.

  • @paulspydar He was double-jointed.

  • I say HELL, IF TWO DOGS CAN LOCK TOGETHER AND WALK THEN TWO PLANES CAN LOCK AND FLY.......

  • Yo dawg I heard you like flying so we put an airplane in your airplane so you can fly while you fly.

    I think this is appropriate.

  • A close vee of Ansons drove off an attack by Me-109's, shooting down one.

  • i have a prop from a avro anson that my grang-pa gave me... Im trying to figuer out where it came from and what happend to it. It defenetly chrashed theres a small craxk in it and the metal edge of the prop is messed up. Anybody know how to get info?

  • Sad....so incredably sad, to carry out this amazing feat of flying. Then to do something amazing resulting in the award of the DFM whilst flying over Europe and he is killed by a bus whilst ridig a bicycle.....

  • funny

  • @ebutemetube omg im in stitches that is by far one of the funniest and most clever comments ive ever read!

  • @TheWhiteOwl23 Thanks awfully old chap : )

  • pro pilot awsome very good

  • Suprise Planesecks!

  • For Anson and aviation buffs "Indiekline" has just put up an interview with the lads who are restoring an Avro Anson MK11 at RCAF Trenton Air Museum Ontario Canada

  • They planes were having buttsex what do you think?

  • lol he said the bombers are not badly damaged hahahahah propaganda shit, actullay.

  • if this happens russia next day all news papers say "new russian invention emerged: fucking plane"...

  • suprise planesecks!

  • Hi Bomberguy

Im alex from Lerdo, Mexico place where the Gee Bee QED is located in a museum, actually i am in charge of the restoration of the museum and airplane....dou have material, videos or photos of this airplane?

I wish i can get some videos of this airplane because we dont have any video, just a few pictures only....if we can get it, i will donate an aprojection system to the museum.

I hope you can help us....thank you so much

  • PROOF POSITIVE - Insane people can fly planes!

"Yeah, I think I'll just stay inside the crumpled wreckage and try to land the mess."

    Too amazing for words, really.

  • @lancethrustworthy Maybe he was not fond of parachuting.

  • what a bummer. You survive a accident like that then ran over by a bus.

  • Wow. What nugz. And to go out by getting hit by a fucking bus after surviving that....sad.

  • "Unparalleled feat of flying skill".....no pun intended.

  • Amazing guts and skill!!!!

  • Amazing flying skill

  • Re MrBEB123. Just what has the inane comment posted by him have to do with this video? Presumably he flits around YouTube posting this stuff. What a sad lonely creature he must be.

  • That comment of yours is pretty funny I must admit. How about you? What makes you think your such a winner?

  • I have decided to let you.

  • this also happened in gimli mb . canada during flt training . my dad was there . he took a couple of pics . my mom still has them . not sure on injuries . a lot of planes in the air at the same time

  • Sad he lived through that just to get hit by a bus.

  • A man I worked with in 1972 was a "stang pilot in WWII. He and his best buddy landed their planes like that when the buddy pancaked on top of my friend, They were landing at the time, just before touchdown.

My frind, on the bottom, lived. His Buddy died, without a scratch. Looked like a heart attack or something. Both planes were saved.

  • not fake!! there was a near identicle incident in Canada during the war and thee photo is in the book "history of the RCAF"

  • Hero???? IDIOT.

  • And you can fly can you?

  • @Rob187ok no idiot big balls

  • Happened with 2 B-17s over, only the bottom one caught fire and disintegrated when the pilot of the top plane crash landed on the outskirts of a village.

  • LAC?? Only Non coms to fly in these days were Sergeants or above!!

  • GREAT STUFF! 5+ stars, Bomberguy! !

  • Bet he needed to take care of some laundry afterwards!

  • Sick!

    What a feat.

Can't believe anyone on the bottom plane survived impact to cock-pit with the prop hitting it.

  • Isso é mole fazer...Ja fiz isso tambem.... Alias, eu e o Quadrado!!! rs rs

  • london bus drivers are legalized pirates, a friend of mine got killed by one while riding to his office....

  • At least Fuller could probably read, write and spell... which is more than I can say for RabbiSchickelgruber. You know what they say about glass houses.

  • Yet more proof that bike riding is bad for your health.

  • should have hit the silk ! like the other sensible chaps , and saved the aircraft fitters a shed load of work

  • Yeah cos its always great to be short of planes which can be fixed and put back in the air. Better to lose them all together and have to wait for new ones which probably wouldn't have been quickly forth coming in that theatre then.

  • @FordPrefect23 Fortunately the japanese never got as far as wagga wagga

  • @skyraider200 agreed

  • Wugawuga??

  • Wagga Wagga.

  • Ahh what a sad story, a air force pilot who wasn't shot down but instead killed by a road accident!

  • that pilot is full of win

  • Hang on. How can you control the engines of the lower plane, when using the controls of the upper one?

  • maybe he has to come down and pull the lever himself while controlling the upper plane? this doesn't make sense! lol

  • Probably a badly worded comment!

The engines were still running while his stopped, then he "simply" landed both airplanes and the engines hitting the ground just plain stopped.

I do it all the time.

  • Yes I am an expert, if you study the manner in which the two aircraft interlocked you will see that the propellers of the upper aircraft will have struck the engines of the lower aircraft and broken. However the lower engines and props are good and will power both air craft with the upper although providing no thrust is able to controle the movement of both aircraft.

  • It's not that uncommon an occurance. I had a similar experience...I was riding my BMX and collided with a Metro Bus, the two interlocked. Fortunately I could still mantain control with the BMX handle bars and with the power of the bus engine I was able to save the school children. The local paper called me a hero but really its my expert pilot training and knowledge that really saved the day!

  • @doyoulikejokes You're bloody lucky your trouser bottoms didn't get caught in the chain guard. It would have been curtains otherwise.

  • @doyoulikejokes LOOOOOLOOOOOOOL----------------good 1

  • @doyoulikejokes haaaaaa!!!!

  • @doyoulikejokes holy shit dude; that's funny.

  • @doyoulikejokes your jokes aren't that funny.

  • says it all really, despite this sort of thing happening flying is still safer than road travel!! thanks mainly to pilots like that guy, god bless him.

  • Killed by a bus riding his bike! XD

Wish I was a pilot back then. Flying a plane must have been easier then riding a bike and I know how to ride mine.

  • uhm yes

  • You have a wonderful collection of aviation videos. Keep up the wonderful work...after all...we have to make certain that history is not forgotten.

  • Clearly a gifted pilot. To have achieved that landing and then continued to serve with distinction, only to be hit by a bus. Tragic.

  • What a freak accident. I've never heard of this story before. Amazing. I wish there was some footage of it flying.

  • amazing skills...

  • Bomberguy, you post really neat and rare stuff. Thank you. This one was amazing until report pilot died on a bicycle at 25.

  • Close formation flying?

  • So what, never seen a biplane? ;-)

  • damn, you hsve to be better than Howard Hughes to do this.

  • How did he manage to tie them together?

  • Unfortunately all such experiences in Ansons didn't have a happy ending. In my late fathers Pilot's Flying Log Book there is an entry for #4 AGS (Air Gunnery School) Morpeth on 6 Sept 1944 next to the name of F/S Tranmer..."He bought it Oct 6 in Anson 1"...as I remind my son and daughter at this point their grandfather had already served 2 years having signed on just after his 18th birthday

  • Wait a second, "..used the controls of the top machine and the engines of the lower.."?? Hell of a feat at any rate. You have to wonder what ever happened to him.

  • Did you watch all of the clip?? He was hit by a bus in 1944 and was killed. Hope he had clean undies on.

  • why does everyone say tht . the clean undies part

  • When I was growing up, mum always used to say "make sure your wearing clean undies in case you get hit by a bus"

  • An old British saying, really daft but means you can be presentable when they strip you down in the emergency room. Dont want to let the side down old chap.

  • no reason why either couldn't be flown again... though seems foolhardy to land them.... wagga wagga...

  • actually yeah he probably shouldn't have tried considering the lack of well-trained pilots and how quickly they were pushing kids through flying school but who cares - the gamble paid off - what a man!!

  • He was a hero, he was brave,, and in his mind he would make it...

He discoverd this before he landed after the accident....

    Fantastic....

  • Wagga Wagga. lol gotta love the Aussies!

  • I wonder if Wagga Wagga's sister cities are Walla Walla and Baden Baden?

  • Yes, you're probably correct about the availability of aircraft at that point in time, but pilots take money and lots of time to train properly - thats why the cockpit is armored more than the engine! Besides, the Aussie aircraft industry was gearing up for more production soon anyway, building Beauforts and Beaufighters eventually. (And others) All in all, it has more value as a publicity stunt than anything else. But publicity does have its role.

  • Bizarre why he would even attempt it. Fun stunt, but not a great decision, kiddies. The aircraft were not that valuable compared to the pilot's value, and it was astronomically safer to bail out.

If he was trying to save guys in the lower aircraft, he'd be a hero, but they all bailed out.

If I was his C.O., he'd get hearty handshake for the flying skills, and K.P. duty for not using his brain to consider what is most important in a squadron.

  • they were never flown again but they had a baby(blenheim) not long after this was shot .

    cc

  • The top Anson was flow again

  • Has anyone verified the planes were indeed ever flown again? Heck of a risk of a trained pilot . . . .

  • BEST Posts on the net...keep em coming!!

  • I never knew about this, thank you. So brave.

  • I read a story of 2 B17s that locked in a similar fashion on a mission over Germany. When the crew finally all bailed, the surviving pilot was extensively interrogated about the strange new double aircraft seen by many people flying back toward England!

  • how regretteble after the incredible maneuvering that no one would attemp to try.

  • damm silly way to die after surviving that...

    what a waste...

thank you for posting this one bomberguy mate! :-)

  • Maravillosa historia, Thanks a lot, Bomberguy !

Pero que muerte tant estupida ! What a so stupid death ! But the death is always stupid...

    RC

  • Keep 'em coming, Bomberguy!

  • Damifino how this guy "...used the controls of the top machine and the engines of the lower...," after the other 3 guys bailed out.

Enlighten please, if u know(!) Great clip!

    Way to go, Bomberguy!

  • Engines on lower plane were running but he could not control them.

  • @Bomberguy Friggin' amazing. The power setting must of been to the point where the pilot felt he could handle it. And he did.

  • @whizbang47 The pilot of the lower plane gave his engines maximum throttle after the collision to maintain altitude and locked the controls to maintain position while bailing out. Unfortunately he put his parachute on incorrectly and was unable to open the chute until he was too close to the ground. He survived with a broken back but but recovered and kept flying as an instructor. The pilot who landed the planes flew in combat but was killed when a bus hit his bicycle in England in 1944.

  • Incredible story! Never heard of it before. Absurd way to die after such heroism.

  • Looks like love at first flight.

  • I love the Anson..Not sure why..
