Only 6% of southerners actually had slaves. My ancestors didn't die to keep bigotry. They died because of the Morrill Tariff that raised import tax from 20% to 47% and had 80% impact on southerners. Lincoln was making them destitute and it was a repeat of why America started a revolution. Unfair taxes. I am so sick of this debate. I have over 60 confederate veteran ancestors, I'm a member of UDC, and my ancestors didn't have slaves. My heritage has nothing to do with racism.

Sir, I am a confederate reenactor and proud to be of southern heritage, but I do have to correct that President Obama is not a muslim, nor a traitor. Also, this country is not a Christian country, it is a country of religious freedom which allows you and I tobe Christians. And I think Christians should try to remember that. Jesus never forced himself on anyone and he gave us free will. I also don't think that it is good to promote the idea of another war. The first one shouldn't have happened.

The 3rd largest slave owner in WV was a black man. And slavery has impacted every race and every creed at some time in history. It's not an issue of one race keeping one other in servitude, it's the fact that humans worldwide caused the condition, and it still exist today.

Jeff Davis, Lee and Zebulon Vance all went to the sentate and pleaded it be amended. The Republicans were unmoved. Not even secession was enough to stop it. It passed on March 2nd after 7 states had succeeded. Those 7 left before hand because they knew and were proved right that it would pass. They did so to defend their civilians the bulk of whom could not afford it.

Still not answering the question. What about our founding fathers? The 13th amendment was a good thing. However we are talking about the cause of the war. In 1861 and 62 for example you know there was no notion of such a thing occuring as a result of the war. See after Lincoln issued the Emancipation which really freed no one. He realized hey I cant take credit for supposedly freeing millions of slaves here then leaving those in the North and Border states still in bondage. It was to help his political image. He didnt know he was going to get shot.
The War of Northern Aggression couldnt have been for race. Seeing as when it started and even up till half way through anyway slavery was barely mentioned. It certainly had little or nothing to do with the fighting. If you warped back to oh May 1862 just about nobody on either side was talking about slaves or freeing them anywhere. If the CSA had just quit in May of 62 there would have been no changes for the slaves in the North or South. No EP or 13th amendment. Couldnt have been about slavery.

7 out of the 11 total had left by the time he was inaugurated in March 1861. The other 4 waited to make sure so left after. See in September 1860 Lincoln publicly endorsed the passage of the Morrill Tariff. Before and after the election he was corresponding with senators and feverishly working to get it passed. Though several Southern states voiced explicit grievances over the tariff. Begging it not go through or at least be amended so it wouldnt be such a devestating increase.

Hmm thats incorrect. First off about the taxes the previous Walker Tariff placed a 20%tax on just about all imported goods. That tax also singled out the South and did indeed keep many financially subordinate however they could make do. The Morrill Tariff would eventually raise that to 47% That an over 100% increase and not in 20 years! The situations are not comparable. Plus with minimum wage going up that right there is going to cause taxes to go up as well. You just cant compare the two.

The Merrill act would have passed anyway. It was a biparty agreement. In fact it was a democrat who created it(Democrats were mostly pro slavery). But southern democrats(dixicrats pro slavery) had resenments for a northern democrat aligned himself with Republicans. Lincoln was being nice and pro nation by endorsing it. It was in effect far into the 20 century.

The 3rd largest slave owner in WV was a black man. And slavery has impacted every race and every creed at some time in history. It's not an issue of one race keeping one other in servitude, it's the fact that humans worldwide caused the condition, and it still exist today.

Jeff Davis, Lee and Zebulon Vance all went to the sentate and pleaded it be amended. The Republicans were unmoved. Not even secession was enough to stop it. It passed on March 2nd after 7 states had succeeded. Those 7 left before hand because they knew and were proved right that it would pass. They did so to defend their civilians the bulk of whom could not afford it.

In the 1930s he had increased their military spending by about 230% that also created new jobs. He for the moment was keeping true to his word. However by about 1936-37 it was coming short. He had spent to much. He got hardly nothing out of his helping the Spanish in their Civil War. His initial reasoning for invading was chiefly economic. To capture these other nations gold and resources to outfit his growing military and keep the German economy stimulated.

The 13th amendment was a good thing. However we are talking about the cause of the war. In 1861 and 62 for example you know there was no notion of such a thing occuring as a result of the war. See after Lincoln issued the Emancipation which really freed no one. He realized hey I cant take credit for supposedly freeing millions of slaves here then leaving those in the North and Border states still in bondage. It was to help his political image. He didnt know he was going to get shot.

The War of Northern Aggression couldnt have been for race. Seeing as when it started and even up till half way through anyway slavery was barely mentioned. It certainly had little or nothing to do with the fighting. If you warped back to oh May 1862 just about nobody on either side was talking about slaves or freeing them anywhere. If the CSA had just quit in May of 62 there would have been no changes for the slaves in the North or South. No EP or 13th amendment. Couldnt have been about slavery.

7 out of the 11 total had left by the time he was inaugurated in March 1861. The other 4 waited to make sure so left after. See in September 1860 Lincoln publicly endorsed the passage of the Morrill Tariff. Before and after the election he was corresponding with senators and feverishly working to get it passed. Though several Southern states voiced explicit grievances over the tariff. Begging it not go through or at least be amended so it wouldnt be such a devestating increase.

Hitlers initial attacks did start the war. He was indeed all about exterminating a group of people. However when he invaded the Czechs then Poland etc it wasnt about race. It like the Northern invasion into the South was about money. He needed to secure funds to keep re-vitalizing Germanys economy as he had promised. It was that promise alone that got him all his power and he had to keep it. Funny in the end he left them worse off though. Again Washington fought over taxes he said so.

Hmm thats incorrect. First off about the taxes the previous Walker Tariff placed a 20%tax on just about all imported goods. That tax also singled out the South and did indeed keep many financially subordinate however they could make do. The Morrill Tariff would eventually raise that to 47% That an over 100% increase and not in 20 years! The situations are not comparable. Plus with minimum wage going up that right there is going to cause taxes to go up as well. You just cant compare the two.

What are you talking about? The Morill act did not take effect on southern states which already were separated from the nation's central government. The Civil war did not start for no Taxation act. It started for the election of an anti slavery President! The economy of those states was based on slavery trade. Do not change history! The war did not start for no taxes. The Merrill act would have passed anyway. It was a biparty agreement. In fact it was a democrat who created it(Democrats were mostly pro slavery). But southern democrats(dixicrats pro slavery) had resenments for a northern democrat aligned himself with Republicans. Lincoln was being nice and pro nation by endorsing it. It was in effect far into the 20 century.

Northern envy of the south having a trans-continental railroad is what caused washington to enact the tariff. Google Delorenza and see what he has to say about. More were lynched and raped their than in any state in 1863 United or Confederated. What about the states of Missouri and Iowa ranked 1st and 2nd in 1952 for the most lynchings. What a brave, brave man. He is standing up for all the Black men (and possibly women) who have been foresaken. BRAVE soldiers. They should be remembered for all time. They were brethren and always will be, where ever they lie in death. Always to be honored.
