I get a real strong Jeff Buckley vibe from the early Muse footage. I'd be very surprised if Matt wasn't inspired by Jeff in some way. His mannerisms and even some vocal aspects are so similar. I'm a huge Jeff fan and miss his voice, but so freaking glad that there is a band like Muse in the world that continues to inspire and thrill!!!

Jeff Buckley is the reason Matt started to sing, after hearing him play at Reading or Glasto. Not only the singing has been influenced by him. Check out the early version of Spiral Static by Muse. It sounds a lot like Grace by Jeff.
