I think it was not meant to be rude on his part but she had every right to ask to be addressed by her title during a formal hearing. I don't know that I would have asked this guy to call me "Senator", but I respect the fact that Boxer is a woman who's worked her ass off to get where she is. After being elected three times, she has earned the right to be called by whatever title she wishes.

I still live in California and I was born here too - I have watched it go down from being one of the best states to what it is now , a third world condition and a state in terrible debt. "I worked so hard to get that title" is such a revealing statement. Sounds like someone is insecure. It's all about the title, huh? What a nitwit. Reminds me of some of my teacher colleagues who earn their PhDs and then insist everyone call them "Doctor." PEEEEE-uke. That "guy" (the Brigadier General) worked a LOT harder to earn HIS title.

I'm a democrat and I support Chuck Devore over "Senator" Boxer. As a former Petty Officer 1st Class in the USN I find her comments totally disrespectful toward General Walsh. I hope she loses because of her arrogance. If you look at the ribbons on his chest this is a man who risked his life in Iraq and Afghanistan. The greatest among us are the most humble among us.

I'm sitting here in uniform and watching this video, I'm lower enlisted and am not anywhere near the rank and respect this man deserves. I understand she's worked hard but she doesn't understand the things that man went through to be who he is. It's embarassing to me to watch her say that. RIDICULOUS. We HAVE to call you Ma'am, it's in our PROTOCOL. Get over yourself and show the man the respect he deserves.
