Man... I totally remember that Pepsi commercial!! They made pretty good family films that kids/adults can enjoy back then (not stupid crap like Alvin Chipmunks 3D)- Home Alone. I could probably watch Home Alone 1 and 2 being grown up now and still enjoy it.
HAHAHA!!! "I'm blind!" hahaha... Also, I love the commercials at the end. Those brought me back!
Avatar was basically the love child of Ferngully and Pocahontas. So, basically, the movie was sort of like if my happy childhood memories were brutally raped by a gang of smurfs on steroids. Yeah, I didn't love it.
I absolutely loved avatar but you can't deny it has some major similarities to this film, i said it since I 1st saw it like 2 months ago.
characters - outsider, naive but good hearted human, native princess who he falls in love with, spirtual mother of princess, father who is also tribe leader,
jelous tribe warrior who loves princess and hates human
plot- naive human falls in love with princess who then feels betrayed as the humans destroy the forest but forgives him when he saves the tribe
These films are indeed similer, and It'd be pretty funny if there was a scene in Avatar where every creature on Pandora started dancing to rock music like in Ferngully.
Yep, i didn't see "Fern Gully", but i've seen the trailer of "Fern Gully" before "Home ALone" started on VHS. When i saw Avatar, i was like "Fern who?"
yes indeed, and i was about to walk about because of how offended i felt, simply put he RIPPED OFF MULTIPLE plotlines and ideas(EVEN THE FREGIN PLANES WERE FROM HALO!)
Actually, the Pelican dropships along with the hornett's from Halo were inspired by a certain aircraft that was first featured in Aliens. (which was one of cameron's first films)
@CAPTSCRU33Y yep i found that out later, but its sad to see a writer use the same idea in two completely different universes without them having any relation, pretty sad and lazy
Yeah I have to agree. I think Cameron's goal anyway was to actually sort of raise the bar for the future of movie visuals. I hope his future project of "Battle Angel" (or Angels) turns out to be very different.
Avatar, Ferngully mixed with dances with wolves, the NBA cross bred smurfs and overly morale hollywoood.

I completely agree with Rasenth. Right after the movie ended, I told my friends, this was Fern Gully on steroids!

This made me laugh too much. XDDD EVERYBODY who watched Fern Gully as a child must've thought this when they saw Avatar.
