Norway got their constitution in 1814. Norway was a part of Sweden until the independence 1905, but the nation had their constitution from 1814. The Norwegian celebrate the day because of the constitution from 1814.

The day of the dissolution of the union with Sweden is June 7th, but we don't celebrate it in any way other than flying the Norwegian flag for the day.
