  • 95 ...Great year for hip hop....

  • D.O.P.E....

  • what the fuck this song just jumped straight into my favorite songs of all time. MPLS, MN.

  • Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

  • @srg3475 ?

  • Heard this track off of Tony Hawks Underground 2, since then been a Grand Puba fan. Real Hip-Hop!

  • Man, this brings back memories. The flow of grand puba stands alone. Ideal, Classic. The Beat, the bass line, and the chords, and the sampled I like it by Debarge is Mezmorizing. Damn i miss the sound of what true HIP HOP was back in the 90's. The mess out today is HORRIBLE.

  • @cojack424 i agree i was a teenager in the 90's the rap scene was unbelievable back then everybody had their own flow. It was just BEATS AND RHYMES back then not how many cars u got or how much money you got just BEATS AND RHYMES.

  • Thank you Tony Hawk Underground 2 for introducing us to great and missed songs. Also for being the last good Tony Hawk Game.

  • I got permanent hearing loss from bumping this back in the day. Can't believe how fucked up music has gotten.

  • somebody shoulda told you!

  • R.I.P MTV

  • pa pr les pd ce son

  • real hip hop mawfawkas

  • I just love how simply saying "2000" sounded cool and futuristic, even a mere 6 years from 2000.

  • I totally agree with you.

They still play this in NYC from time to time.

    This beat is hot.

  • I'm 16 years old. i'm from Kazakhstan. i've played the tony hawk's game and i didn't liked it...

but the OST of this game made me to love the hiphop..

    the hiphop like this!

  • lyrics are so smuuuuth!!

  • When MTV actually played videos...

  • @AutoTune8 WORD somebody should make a channel where they do that..be a crazy nice idea!

  • AMAZING track this.......its simplicity is its beauty, perfectly executed........gotta be in the top 10 hip hop tracks ever!!! this is how-you-do-this-shit-kids!!!!

  • this track deserves a better upload!

  • Comment removed

  • back when rap was rap and not pop

  • if it ain't wasn't for T.H.U.G 2 [Tony Hawk's Underground 2], I would've never heard this song and Grand Puba.

  • this is my jam reminds me of simple times...

  • IT TAKES ME BACK BANANAS!!!!!

  • dope...plain and simple...

  • RL 2000 on the cover,90's..

  • I couldn't find the single to this song back in 95. So I bought the album. Glad to have witnessed hip hop at it's peak back in the Golden Era.

  • beat is sick!!!

  • Grand Puba was always ahead of his time...He is Skyping in this video....

  • @hugoalexandre Lmao no bullshit I can't stop laughing

  • @hugoalexandre ROFL! Good shit!

  • sabzi was here

  • Puba even had the Twin Towers in his video....I miss that sky-line, like i miss the dope beats from the past like this one :(

  • @CourtneyxDewar u r on point.... wrd str8-up...

  • Grand Puba's flow is tight, back when hip hop was real!!! he reminds me of Cleveland from family guy

  • Puba is the man but where is Big Les? She was like Hip Hops official Dancer and her Body was like Adina Howard Bombastic.

  • holy shit, THUG 2 had the best soundtrack EVER.

  • I love hiphop... 201

  • OMG search Dee Smith I Like It

  • Peep Big Lez from Rap City fame @ 1.23

  • great song, but it sounds like he's saying "Puba's everything, and everthing is poo"

  • All dipped in lo

  • Grand Puba is too much for the brain...

  • glad to see we still have true and i MEAN TRUEhipm hop lovers out here CLASSIC

  • Man this is really tight shit. I agree that older hip hop rap has a lot mor soul and meaning. But that doesn't mean all new hip hop rap is shit it is just that as times change so does the style of music.

  • @CourtneyxDewar i hear you, but back then, an era i bitterly missed out on, 90% of shit put out was dope, now its like only 20% (being generous) even comes close

  • And ya say NYC?! Man I forgot how much I dug dis shit back in da day

  • this was a banger!!

  • @ slamamaman thanx 4 shown us ol' heads sum luv........ big up 2 all da ol' heads on U tube...HOLLA 1

  • Yeah, 20 people didn´t liked it.

  • 95 prob the last year in hip hop ;-( not like this shit now thanks too T,I , KANYE WEST, SOULJA BOY, T PAIN , JAY Z , RICK ROSS , 50 CENT AND THE REST OF THEM POP RAPPERS FUCKIN BITCHES

  • @MrLeebo123 Not trying to dickride Jay Z, or not call him a sellout, but Reasonable Doubt was nice ... just sayin

  • @ff7owns I cant stand jay z or his POP princess lol beyonce, black music in general has gone down tha POP mainstream line, RnB is life euro house pop music its lost its soul and funk, the early 90s was probably the last time it had any credibility! JUST MY OPINION LOL

  • @MrLeebo123 T.I? Jay Z? c'mon now. What are you talking about?

  • I 'liked' this

  • Song samples from Cal Tjader for the main hook and Debarge - I like it for the chorus.

Sampling Lesson for those that don't know.

  • man, i miss MTV Jams.

  • @PoeticSouljah F that, YO MTV RAPS.

  • yeah I got this on vinyl US import, crisp quality, nice cover, its da bomb... the 90's were'nt just about MC's either they were about production too... breaks, samples real nice vibes. And at the time these guys were fighting to be considered as artists, its so sad where hip hop has gone... i think it was when hip hop started being about being rich instead of about being an individual... I thought the UK thing might be different but it looks like its going the same way...

  • i didnt remember this video either! look at big lez at 1:23

  • i didnt remember this video either!

  • I Keep thinking Kid is white for some reason. lol

  • Modern cats can't even touch this. This is emceeing with bravado, with the ultimate swagger. And it's not swagger associated with stupid shit like drugs or guns, it's swagger based on impeccable flow and emcee skill.

Most important, this was hip hop with a New York identity, the real shit, the heavy snare boom bap shit. New York was still grimy, the Yankees were about to begin a dynasty, a young guy named Jeter was new in town, and Giuliani had just taken over from Dinkins. History.

  • first off u were born in 95 your a a 2000 baby thats when u grew up only people that grew up in 90s are 1990 and 1991 and anything before

  • kick ass old school puba;) I sooo miss real hip hop..

  • I miss the 90's... Glad I had the chance to live it.

  • @allbeautyfull Lucky. I was born in 92 :(

  • 90's RULES !!!!!!!!!!!

  • biggie and pac died with hip hop

  • If I had the choice to be born in this age of technology or in the age of music, I would choose the music age. I envy you old heads. I say "old heads" with the up most respect.

  • @Slamamaman Dont say that, its even better now that you can get any song video you want. Waiting all day for a song to come on or raking up your 0898 on the box wasn't much fun, lol

  • @Slamamaman why? you already have both nowadays, dick.

  • @Slamamaman thanx u know real music

  • @Slamamaman yeah i was about 14 or 15 when this banger came out. It was so much good rap back i mean music was still good then but i don't even listen to radio anymore.

  • this classic never gets skipped on my rotation....

  • Gotta love the 90's R.I.P Old School Hip Hop and Twin Towers You shall not be Forgotten.

  • Memories memories... The best hip hop is from the 80`s and 90`s..

  • @RealHipHopSucks93 this nigga says Flo-rida is top 10. Fuck outta here Grand Puba >>> your pussy ass southern crap. 90's hip-hop >>> all hip-hop 2000 and up. ALL OF IT.

  • @RealHipHopSucks93 display on any of these comments is just lame, big up the music, stop being a couple jive talkin' motherf*#ckers.

  • 16 People can NOT say New York City.

  • @dorfstep Dude, NYC says: 'oooh and I like it'. It's not like you're meant to say: New York City. 27 people didn't get this :/

  • When lyrical style and beat go together you get PB&J on wax. Sticks to the rib cage.

  • this song reminds me of the School and New Orleans in THUG 2

  • Some ol lay back hip hop!

  • 95 flavor

  • So smooth,talented and funny

  • CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASIC!!

  • I was born in 95, and being able to say I watched rocket power and rugrats as a kid is amazing :D But if there was something I wish I could say I did or experienced it would be I was around to listen to rappers like Puba, Biggie, etc. Real rappers, Real flow, Real lyrics. Not like now. I respect all rappers, (not really) but I'm tired of listening to how everyone has money, girls, and their autotuned voices. And I don't think anyone can argue with that.
