I can only think he's using the "Style creator". Press the "Digital Recording" button on the right hand side of the keyboard. Choose "Style Creator". It provides loop functionality like this. I have owned a T2 since it came out and that's the only way I could think of doing this with it.

Tyros 2 is out of production, the last one's left in some shops are sold at around €2400, you can get a second hand one for around €1600.
The Tyros 3 costs around €3000.

You see.. some people buys motorcycles for 20 grand as their hobby.
Others buy a TYROS 2.
