  • Yes thats right kids if you throw rubbish in the bin then you have to do COMPLICATED maths equations as punnishment so DON'T do it!!!

  • Hahaha I remember recess

  • This confused me...

And I'm the best multiplier in my school.

  • Nice parody of "New Math" (Tom Lehrer)

  • ... Tom Lehrer rip off? I LOVE IT!

  • Can you apply this to calculus in song?

  • @mattphillips1993 XD or Algebra?

  • I bet if you did this in class your teacher would be like O-O

  • I did what he said and purchased a calculator.

  • My head = Asploded

  • Ummm... 7+1=8 not 9

  • @tylersully33 yes but 6 + 4 is 10 which gets carryed over to the 8 to make 9

  • @reaperzone85 oh thats right sorry my mistake

  • New Math by Tom Lehrer? Anyone? Anyone?

  • 9 can't multiply

  • Hey pause at 0:30 it is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!

  • manual long multiplication and division is like giving the bird to the inventor of the calculator :)

its amazing how differently people are taught.

  • I miss old cartoons like this. The 80s to the early 00's was good but after about 2005 it dropped to lame cartoons :(

Btw, The 8 Dislikes are people who can't multiply.

  • @OmniNogard the best cartoon that ended in 2006 and my personal favourite cartoon ever was justice league unlimited

  • I just realized... this song made me a Yakko fangirl as a kid!!!

  • and they said tv back then rotted your brain lol

  • is it 141

  • TIMES TWO TIMES TWO TIMES TWO

  • what thhe..................................

  • Ok that is just impossible to know every thing in the world.

  • @Andrew8104 exactly

  • What about 83*47 = (80+3)(50-3) = (80+3)(80-30-3) = 80*50 - 3*30 - 3^2 = 4000-90-9 = 3901?... Although cumbersome in this case, it shines with more figures.

  • i was taught to put a zero in the space where he put nothing

  • Why are people arguing about gay people?

  • @SpitShineT0mmy Because

  • Hooray for new math, new-ew-ew math, it won't do a bit of good to review math!

  • I loved his grin at 0:30

  • Whar? I learnt it another way:

    83x47

    ¯¯¯¯¯

    34¹2 65²1

    ¯¯¯¯¯

    4¹071

  • @french038 I wish,I totally wish, the only way to get these shows is either buying it in DVD or VHS online. Even then kids will be exposed to watching typical garbage on tv.

  • i feel bad for non-aspies. they need pencils and calculators.

  • forget the calculator,we have brain power!

  • when he adds 7 and 1 on the adding part he puts 9 when it is supposed to be 8

  • @dakotadog345 You get the extra 1 from adding 6 and 4. put a zero down and the one is carried over to the left.

  • @dakotadog345 Are you talking about when he got the final product? Yakko was right. You have to carry the one from 10's place (4+6=10) and add that to the 7+1. but the final answer was right.

  • Um... the clip at the 0:40 had all the work done on the board before he went back to the board and it was gone! The board traveled through time.

  • this is how i answer ever math question is class

  • I love this show!!! Shows these days have no point to it whatsoever.

  • When are they going to air reruns of this? I grew up on this show and freaking miss it!!! T_T

  • @Origamisteve222 It's too creative and yet manages to be educational. You know how hollywood hates that. Now back to the cable tv,consumer slave!

  • Yakko said I should buy a calculator and I did but my college professor told me we weren't allowed to use calculators! :(

  • Yakko was always my favorite and I loved Wakko too because he taught me my state capitals and Yakko taught me how to multiply 47 x 83.

  • It's 3901, not 141. :l

  • wow i don't remember this show trying to educate me back in the day.

  • MsJd

  • anyone here thought of "officer crusty" from west side story?

  • Thumbs up who worked it out in their heads instead of using a calculator

  • Thats why theirs calculators mate

  • Not even Yakko could have made me understand that shit in maths. Even at 18 i'm still terrible, theres too many different rules :L

  • He sings about how fun and easy multiplication is, but then he tells you to buy a calculator and study later. I love Yakko.

  • I can do that in like 20 seconds and this

    guy's just wasting time.

  • @RishiGroup Congradgu-fucking-lations you are smarter than the target audience of 5-10.

  • wait a second. Tom Lehrer: New math and this use (part) of the same music

  • @d4m4s74 yeah I noticed the same thing

  • "see how easy that was?" ...no. .___.

  • If I get called on next semester to answer a question on the board, I'm going to hum this song as I work it out.

Whoever recognizes it will be my friend.

  • Yakko is high on mathamphetamine.

  • @WinVisten wut?

  • @FursenTheFox

    Sexagentaquad is Latin for 64...

  • 2 to the 3rd power

  • I'm 15 and I can't do that without a calculator. And I'm getting straight As in Maths. XD

  • I just love how yakko can be so stupid along with his siblings but actually they are all very smart <3 XD

  • Ah Yakko, my favorite smartass.

  • At 0:43 he already finished the equation. Boss.

  • is it bad that i learned more from this than i did from my fifth grade teacher?

  • i dont get it :D

  • hahaha, that is how all adults multiply, is to type it on a calculator.

  • and my teacher tried to teach me math...

  • I learn this way, as I'm still in school.

  • 4 people did not understand how to do it....

  • Who else thought Tom Lehrer?

  • @Clarinerd617 It's very clearly a spoof based on New Math. Not a copey, but it has a pretty clear basis, and is quite the tribute I think

  • @Clarinerd617 I definitely thinking Tom Lehrer as soon as he started mentiong the "Tens Place". Did anyone else notice that if you look at the video from 0:39 to 0:47, he had already completed the problem, before he later completed the problem. Pay close attention.

  • @oonoon9 I noticed 0.o! This proves that YAKKO IS A GOD!

  • @Clarinerd617 Me!

  • @Clarinerd617 I did!

  • "Buy a calculator and study this stuff later." FUCK YES.

  • @incufriend Who the freak doesn't buy a calculator?!?!?!?!

  • Im in an advanced math class in high school, and this confused me.

  • you just can't beat this with a 12 foot pole.

  • why cant educational TV be this good now a days

  • Is that the voice of Mom from Futurama?

On another note - major nostalgia binge today

  • @TCWNN yeah tress macneille even did the voice of Dot and Babs bunny. she's a gifted voice actress.

  • @thedorkelf Yeah, I was pretty sure it was her. Just makin sure. Crazy cat lady, too

  • hehe... wish it were this easy in real...

    "recess!" *yoink!*

  • This got me through calculus I

  • THATS A LIE XD

  • 0:06 Ballin'!

  • "...And maybe you can multiply too!!" three, four, five...

  • Very Tom Lehrer. <3

  • uhh...wat?

  • in 2013 animaniacs will be 20 years old!

  • shame he was wrong because its really 3901

  • @xKamehameha He did get 3901.

  • @xKamehameha You Fail

  • wow that was the most educational clip i've seen, and this was from a childhood classic unlike the stupid shit i watch now, who's with me.

  • @YaB0yMunchies0071: Well, it may not be educational in the same way Animaniacs is, but "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" is actually a very well done cartoon on TV (and YouTube) these days. Smartly written, great music and songs, talented voice acting, and smooth animation. You should check that out.

  • @YaB0yMunchies0071 Sexagentaquadral (64x) Thumbs up to that!

  • @YaB0yMunchies0071 thank u now all we gotta do is tell nick CN and all the others

  • now im confused

  • My teacher showed this to us in class and we all had a laugh!

  • "Maybe some day you can multiply numbers too, three, four, five..."xD

  • OMG.......I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!

  • I remember when they taught me this form of math, then suddenly switched to a newer formation on how to do math and I still stuck to this form even to this day.

  • why does everyone say "maths"?

  • @samuriguy909 Because not all sections of Math are related. Math in early years is consecutive and builds upon itself, but higher levels become more specialized like Differential Calculus or Integral Calculus. They're just used for different applications.

  • @samuriguy909 "maths" is short for mathematics, and not everyone says it. It seems mainly Brits and ppl from some former british colonies tend to use that colloquialism (anyone else agree?)

  • Tom Lehrer - New Math

  • that sounded complicated

  • Lol if you have a nice teacher who let's you listen to music while testing get this on iTunes and cheat :D

  • I got this as an MP3 and hid it during a test and got an A!

  • this almost sounds like new math by Tom Lehrer

  • Times 2 Times 2 Times 2!!!!!

  • Im in 11th grade, have A.C.T practice tomorrow, but everytime I see this I become confused 0.0

  • Maths is still boring and useless.

  • @ToxicTurquoise454 Math may be boring but it is not useless you use it wherever you go u may hate it but it does come in handy

  • Learning is fun

  • duh

  • sigh, why did they cancel the god of television???the god of tv is animaniacs!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ :29 original troll face

  • Actually you're wright

  • The answer is 3504

  • teacher: u KNOW wat u did maryanne!!!u obviously used a calculator.

    maryanne: b-b-but

    teacher: NO BUTS!!

maryanne: what 'bout the "butts" is our classroom sitting in ur chair?

teacher: fine maryanne say what u need to say.

maryanne: *clears throught and prepares for whining voice* but Yakko TOLD me to use a calculator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TIMES TWO, TIMES TWO, TIMES TWO!

  • look behind yakko at 41 seconds u will see the answer lmao

  • .... This sounds like Tom Lerher, awesome

  • Fuck this shit, I'm getting a calculator.

  • yeah ...Tom lehrer "new math" inspired

  • where are all the cartoons that taught kids something!

  • @RetroDancinMachine i know u dont see cartoons like that anymore they put humor with education thats how i became smart in history and some math that barely go past division and algebra. if they taught this in a more higher standard we be getting perfection education in schools

  • Only Rob Paulsen could pull this off...

  • notice he already had the answer before he finished! xD

  • I remember why I hate multiplication so much now.

  • You can multiply #s 2,3,4,5... Lolz xD I loved that...

  • times two times two times two

  • This makes it sound 100X harder than it is.

  • Really excellent. This was probably inspired by Tom Lehrer's song "New Math;" they're remarkably similar.

  • Why dose she remind me of ms bitter from invader zim?

  • God if he was everyone's math teacher lolz

  • i forgot how to do long multiplication, but Yakko...thanks man! lol

  • I thought they already established that they ALL had eyes at the back of their heads.

    Wakko has multiple.

  • Wow he makes math hard and I'm really good at it xD

  • he forgot the place holder……..

  • @hipepleful you don't need place holders. It would just be zero so that's kinda pointless.

  • @TheUnderNetwork wind back 8 years. Spongebob was teaching you to harass your neighbors and try to beat up girls. Jimmy Neutron was probably the only show at the time that educated us less fortunate kids while making us laugh.

  • @TheUnderNetwork Cartoons pushing the GAY agenda?

  • @jadencore Why do you think they are talking about "anti-bullying" so much on these kids channels. Most of the bullying is in result of being cowardly, feminine and acting like an idiot.

All the shows in the past taught you how to be healthy, strong, honorable, polite, educated and most of all NOT ignorant.

Some of the shit that pisses me off about gays is the fact they claim they did NOT choose to be gay.

Oh,I'm sorry I thought we had something called FREE WILL you retards. Decisions.

  • @TheUnderNetwork I like how you talk about how old shows taught you about being polite and open-minded, and then make a fucking retarded statement about sexual orientation. Amazing job.

  • @jadencore I'm so sorry that you got retarded eyes.

  • @TheUnderNetwork No, I'm pretty sure I understood fully the message you were trying to get across. You think gay people choose to be gay. Which is saying that you think people wake up one morning and suddenly just choose to want to suck dicks. No, I'm afraid it doesn't work that way, and you're an idiot.

  • @TheUnderNetwork So do you think straight people have a choice to be straight?

  • @BittyChibi13 Straight people are naturally STRAIGHT. They are raised to be GAY.Gay people are like the idiots that force the circle block into the square shape. No matter how hard they try,it just won't fit.

It's disgusting to see a man who illegally got a surgical transplant only so he can give birth to children like a woman. That's a PERFECT example on how far homosexual extremists would go to prove they that it is correct.

  • @TheUnderNetwork Many gay kids came from the most straight people in the world. If men want to become woman, I don't care, for me, I'm actually pretty mind blown. Being a woman is the worst thing in the world to be. If I could change genders I would. I find being male a hell of a lot better. We are not born straight, that's impossible. We're born asexual until our parents manipulate us about love and bullshit like that, then when we do break free of "normal" we're/they're punished.

  • @TheUnderNetwork Although I agree with you, what's wrong with being gay? (No homo.)

  • @TheUnderNetwork what's wrong with being gay?

  • just buy a calculator

    HOLY SHIT LMAO

  • my brain hurts

  • Makes me wonder why she's angry at him for being so good.

  • @SchrodingersWaffle Cause he's encouraging the audience to solve math problems with a calculator instead of learning to solve the problems the long way

  • Multiplication isn't too hard for me. I was easily able to do this stuff in third grade. Long division is what I had trouble with in third grade.

  • Haha, I actually followed that, although that was a nice go on their part, what with the fastness and thinking involved. B)

  • I wish this was on when I was in 4th grade because I HATED multiplication, in fact the two-digit kind like in this song.

  • Yakko sure is smart!
