Songwriters often copy songs and make chord or minor structural changes to avoid copyright violations. Of course a lot of battles have been fought out in court over what exactly constitutes plagiarism, GaGa made enough changes there probably isn't a case but it's clearly a rewrite of Express Yourself.

I'm a musician and I can say only two chords or three this song & btw have in similarity. But cmon really fighting for that like wow fucking chords nobody owns them. They sound different to me. I'm a little monster doesn't mean I'm defending gaga. They're both talented womans!

@paisas4lifee You can copy a song and change chords but still have a similar cadence and note structure, the similarity between the two is obvious even to an untrained ear. Songwriters often copy songs and make chord or minor structural changes to avoid copyright violations. Of course a lot of battles have been fought out in court over what exactly constitutes plagiarism, GaGa made enough changes there probably isn't a case but it's clearly a rewrite of Express Yourself.

Everyone is acting like all the POP songs of the 80s and early 90s didn't have the SAME EXACT CHORD progression. I mean damn, her biggest most iconic song , "Vogue" has a similar chord progression around the chorus. Just like the guy below said, what about "Ice Ice Baby"? And now that I am thinking about it, they have a point. Just cause Gaga brought back the same 80s beat and feel, the first person the point to is Madonna. No. Now people are getting Madonna fans in check off their high horse.
