All he is trying to do is make sure that the wealth made from the sale of Bolivia's natural resources also goes to the poor instead of just to a few rich Spaniards. He is not a communist. All he is trying to do is make sure that the people get the most rather than foreign companies. Many countries have state owned companies (i.e. oil and gas etc.)because the people get all the profits.

What are you talking about? If no one BOUGHT drugs then why would people make them? There is not a massive advertising campaign in magazines and newspapers manufacturing desire for the product. Drug use isn't a Latin American problem it's a North American problem. If you dealt with the demand then the suppliers wouldn't have a financial imperative anymore.

Demand will defiantly tend to push up supply, but supply does not necessarily create demand. And maybe if the CIA wasn't one of, if not the, biggest drug dealer in the world there would be fewer drugs here. Crack appeared as a result of the CIAs illegal Contra rebel funding and the glut of cocaine it brought here.
