I had a similar situation to you with my V1, but when the truck passed me a police card then came up and squeezed between me and him to pull him over and write him up.
what software version do you have? i have 3.789 and love the way mine performs even against the AGD-340 radar that is used on the photo enforcement vans here in AZ.
that agd 340 is effective up to 300 feet. my v1 with the older software version picked it up i would say 6 to 800 feet away. it operates at 5 milliwatts. AZ got so cheap with their photo program they imported the radar from europe. I ran my old 9500i against the van and i got an alert at about 100 feet. i will post a vid with my v1 and the van if you will allow it.
Range on the V1 on Ka band is about 8 miles which is farther than you need to slow down especially with other traffic on the road since radar doesnt discriminate well at long range.
yeah i heard the Ka isnt AS strong but from what i read on some forums its basically almost the same the 1.8 is Ka is a little better but the range is good im sure
the early 1.7's did not have not have laser sensors...the later ones had the laser sensors but were a lot thicker to accommodate it...the 1.8's are better but the 1.7's do hold there own...wouldnt trust them fully on Ka band tho...
as good as the stalker units the max range on them maybe is 1/2 under perfect conditions....1/4 is more like it...and i was picking that up for maybe 1.5-2 miles?
well its a 2500$ stalker unit vs a 500 dollar v1 witch one do you think will win it doesnt take long to acquire speed 2 seconds at the most. and it takes you 2 seconds to react. if he use's instant on he gets you before you get him i got some videos for you
yes i completely agree if say i am 1000 feet or so away and his i/o's me....there is nothing u can do and no rd can protect u against that...this is why u travel with a rabbit in front of you so if there is a leo shooting very selective i/o up ahead he shoots at your rabbit first so you pick up the i/o.....but in the video there is no way the leo was going to pick up my speed in the beginning if say there were no cars on the road and it was just me
yhe i got a bike that only goes up 2 85mph but does 120mph alot of vehicles in the 80's had those due to jimmy carter not wanting you 2 max your car out
Yeah...most of them. Still gotta watch out, because city cops don't use it unless it's an expressway or something, but it is an effective tool to assist in avoiding tickets. I would recommend still watching onramps, side roads, heavily wooded sides of highways or behind overpass supports. They may not have the radar on until they see a car going fast and then you better brake HARD, but not dangerously cuz he can pull you over for that too lol.
i have a question, since i live in italy and heer radar speed measurements are not common...
How does it work down there: i mean the officer who was traveling on his cruiser with radar on, does he get warned by his radar when if some of all the car that were on teh road at that time is speeding, and how can he detect exactly the speeding one? lets suppose you were speeding, would he have come back and give you the ticket?
Yeah. Usually cops, when they're just patrolling, have their radar on to be able to see the speed of the cars coming towards them. It's hard to tell which car you are radaring if there is more than one lane, or lots of traffic.
If they determine that the driver was speeding, they will turn around and catch up to the car and pull him over.
You are right except they will generally turn around, pace the car, and THEN pull them over if they are still speeding (as you said it is hard to tell which car the radar is picking up when you are going the opposite direction unless they are way over the limit and stand out) They usually have an idea, but they pace them anyway. That is why the V1 helps even if the cop sees you-you know his radar saw your speed, so if he turns around you better slow down to the speed limit to avoid attention.

haha, wow. my dad messes with the people who have those and turns the radar off in his car then back on then off and he can tell who has one. so its really not that smart.
Nice. I still won't trust hanging my 400 dollar detector on the glass with suction cups. I use the visor clip. Mounting it higher will give you better radar detection range too.
Cool guys..I'm from jersey too! Yehhhhh v1

Correct me if im wrong...with the v1 when you're speeding arent you caught by the time your unit starts beeping?
kampoutkid 2 years ago
no, the officer doesnt have a speed reading unless it is pretty far ramped up...unless its i/o you have plenty of time to slow down

Valentine One sucks. The arrows are just a gimmick, too. Beltronics and Escort are the best radar detectors you can buy.
