The smart thing to do would have been to turn Christian face. He was arguably the most over wrestler in 2005. Casual fans liked him and internet fans loved him. When he wrestled Batista in the UK that year, he was way more over with that crowd than him. Unfortunately, Vince will always have a hard-on for the bigger guys, and Cena and Batista were getting monster pushes that year. It shouldn't have taken 'til 2011 for Christian to finally win. It's 6 years overdue.

In the end, Christian ended up leaving.

He was not TNA Champ he was NWA World Champ under TNA Banner and if Vince don't give him a title than its official that vinnie has just no brain, cause Christian got more Charisma than stupid little Swagger and his in ring skills are way over the likes of edge.
